The negative reviews aren’t lying!

The negative reviews aren’t lying!! My now husband got my engagement ring there so I decided to get both our bands there too. He had no issues with my engagement ring but I had a horrible experience. They knew our timeframe and said no problem they could get them done in time for the wedding. We wanted engraving and they said no problem they outsource it to a local jeweler. The quote had that included in the price. I gave them the deposit and asked if it was going to be more than that to let me know and they assured me it likely wouldn’t be more. No contact for over a month, I had to reach out to see what was going on and a week before our wedding they said they finished but the jeweler they use for engraving was closed. I called said jeweler and they weren’t. I assume they ran out of time. They then sent me another invoice without telling me it was more than the amount I already paid and held the rings hostage on top of forcing me to pay to have them expedited due to their lack of planning. They did “discount” partial but had 0 cares about poor service. Fast forward 3 years and I have to get my rings resized and the jeweler said these rings aren’t pure sterling silver and definitely had filler metals added. Not surprising at all. Very poor quality and customer service. Would not recommend!!

Terrible business

Terrible business. The rings feel super cheap and take forever to be created. The length of time it takes to receive your ring gives you the sense that you’re going to get a quality product but instead you get a cheap, lightweight ring that’s severely over priced and looks only a fraction as nice as what’s put online, I would not recommend this site to anybody. Don’t waste your time or money

Offers a 50% on buying a new ring if yours is the wrong size. Wait, what?

Later added: My local brick-and-mortar jeweller has confirmed that the ring's value is next to zero (Fox and Stone sells it between 500-600 USD). Emerald is a very cheap stone, of which one is even loose on my ring, and the gold plating is extremely thin (the metal underneath already shows after 5 months, even if the ring is removed while washing hands, showering, and sleeping). My jeweller reused to touch the ring, and said no one in town will replate it. This business should be closed. What a shameful way of scamming people and living off ridiculous money made on cheap jewellery.

Terrible customer service. The jeweller changed her policy on resizing and refused to respect the policies that applied at the time of purchase of our engagement ring. She offered to buy a completely new ring for half the price of the original one. What a shameful way to profit from customers! Who refuses resizing of engagement rings, no matter how intricate? My fiance asked advice for the size before purchasing, and the jeweller advised to go a size bigger if he was unsure, saying that he could later have it resized if too big. She then refused to resize and said we needed to buy a new one.
In addition, no care instructions were provided with the ring. Looking closely, it even has a defect (a space between a diamond and the gold socket).
Her emails are cold, dismissive, and communication is unclear. After politely asking to reconsider the resizing of our ring, we got told a rude "after much consideration we will no longer be extending service options for your ring", while no service options were ever "extended." What a way to tarnish people's engagements.

This jewelry business is a scam they…

This jewelry business is a scam they take half a year to make a ring send you the wrong size and don’t allow you to make any returns or adjustments. They also required you to put down a large amount of some in money before you even knew what the Ring will look like. There were very few requirements for the ring and they did not follow through with the one requirement asked. You would think $2000 down would make them actually try to make a ring look good. Do not do business with these people!

Unsatisfactory and unpleasant experience

I'm based in the UK and after my experience with The Fox and Stone, I have now learned that ignoring the bad reviews I had come across about them was much to my detriment. My partner and I ending up having a really unsatisfactory and often unpleasant experience whilst trying to order a bespoke engagement ring from this jeweller. We were charged hundreds of pounds for what were essentially emails which were unnecessarily lengthy and inappropriate at times and Dropbox files which were shared with other customers. Red flags started emerging when the design process seemed to change at the drop of a hat to suit them. The process stated on their website is very misleading and should be reviewed. We have now found that they are not accredited by the Better Business Bureau in the US and will not be trusting any US based companies in future who do not meet certain business standards. In whole, it was a truly upsetting experience which I did express and was offered abysmal customer service in return.
