Chimney repointing and replacement pots. Silverhill, St Leonards.
Provided a competitive estimate of work needed based on drone survey, very detailed and reassuring.
Sound advice, saving me money. Gave the work their full attention and arrived when expected. Worked hard all day and were all personable, good to have around. Alerted me to minor issues with gas supply and fixed them immediately. Really good quality work and quick replies to any questions.

Strong advisory before using this company.

I purchased a log burner from The Fire Shop early last year. The advice at the point of sale was helpful, and they assisted in selecting the right stove for the space.

Unfortunately, the installation process did not go according to plan.

Following coordination between the shop and my scaffolding contractor, installation took place in August. A chimney camera inspection identified a breach, and a single flue was installed for the downstairs stove, with the intention of installing a second flue for the main living room, which I was told should not be an issue despite the breach.

The problems arose during the installation of that second flue.
While I was working upstairs, significant amounts of brick and debris fell into both the living room and front room. The noise and mess were considerable. Large quantities of masonry were dislodged, leaving dust and debris throughout the property and soiling furniture.

The on-site installers mentioned they were under pressure to complete the work quickly. The second flue was not installed. After the work was completed, I was promptly chased for payment, which I made.

During a follow-up call, the owner acknowledged that errors had occurred and that protective measures could and should have been taken to block sections of the chimney to prevent debris entering the rooms, and that the second flue would otherwise have been installed. I was surprised, appreciated the honesty, and also frustrated given that the scaffolding alone cost several thousand pounds.

A partner later returned to inspect the chimney with a camera, but the equipment did not function. Since then, I have made several attempts to arrange a return visit to resolve the chimney breach and associated issues. I have been told on multiple occasions that someone would attend the following week, but this has not happened.

All of this has occurred after payment was made in full, and the remedial work remains outstanding. I am left feeling extremely disappointed.

I have been patient and would still prefer to resolve matters amicably, but the lack of follow-up has been frustrating.

I would strongly advise caution before using this company. They were attentive upfront, but the installation fell short, and the follow-up has been poor.

As a result, I will not use them again, and I am seeking advice on reparations

Our new marble fireplace and gas fire were installed last week by The Fire Shop and we could not be happier with our experience throughout. Credit to all of the staff, who were always friendly and helpful, while remaining totally professional.

We cannot praise Adam highly enough. He undertook and executed this quite tricky installation, assisted by a couple of lovely, polite young men.

Adam is a perfectionist whose work ethic and precise attention to detail are outstanding. He worked long hours, overcoming challenges as they arose, and even reconfigured and re-laid our parquet flooring around the new fireplace.

Apart from the fact that the surrounding wall obviously needs redecorating, you would scarcely know that the installation had taken place! The spread of dust was also minimised and our home was left spotless when they left. We would not hesitate to recommend The Fire Shop to anyone. Thank you so much!

They sell bad quality fire extincteurs that rust to peices after 1 year.
I was led to beleive they had a 2 year guarantee, but tgen they said 1 year.
Anyway rusting that much is a default in fabrication.
How would it have reacted if i had needed to use it in a fire ?
So DON'T BUY FROM THEM !

The Fire Shop was recommended to us by our chimney sweep who discovered problems with both our chimneys. One needed removing and capping, the other needed a complete rebuild and a new liner. I simply cannot praise this firm highly enough. For a start, they turned up when they said they would. The work carried out was excellent. Communication was excellent, (thank you Felicity!). We were fully aware of the ongoing work and the attention to detail was second to none. Not to mention the new fire brick, (thank you Adam). Simply fabulous, thank you, it’s a relief to have had the work done and feel safe again. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending this firm.

Brilliant company from start to finish. Went above and beyond. Thanks to Mark and Charlie for all their hard work fitting the stove and flue and for uncovering something that needed sorting in the roof while they were up there. Im very happy with my new log burning stove and the flue that was fitted.
