I really wanted to love The Fill Club!
I really wanted to love The Fill Club!! When I heard Gwen Whiting, one of the former heads of the Laundress, had started her own laundry line, I was thrilled. I thought it strange there was a complicated membership fee and you have to pay for shipping, but the benefits of a blog, meet ups, access to purchase the products and laundry tips from Gwen seemed promising.
The blog for which one pays the membership fee is mostly about Gwen's "fab life" and does not have as much about laundry or cleaning as advertised. No meet ups or other of the promised "exclusive" benefits. Felt falsely advertised.
I placed two orders for hundreds of dollars. I found the product scents to be heavier on the patchouli than the ingredients lists suggested, but I figured I would just use for towels and move on since no refunds (which is clear on the website). The starch and laundry bar were nice, effective, and did not have offensive smells. The packaging and marketing were all attractive at least.
Deliveries were reasonable but not fast (not an issue for me). The packaging was solid but nothing special, especially considering you're paying at least $25 for shipping. Just an invoice and ugly packaging paper.
Customer service was painfully slow and inaccurate when I was overcharged during a deal they were running. Their response did not make sense or align with the invoice and supposed discount they had advertised. I had called and emailed them, and they did not respond for six days!!!
My rec would be to make the membership and other offers match what is advertised. Just be honest! Do not bait and switch. It will ruin your reputation and harm your conscience. You are better than this or at least I certainly hope.
