Called for drinks, there was one bar staff who was serving behind the bar who appeared agitated and stressed, people were waiting to be served for quite some time as he was covering drinks for the bar and restaurant, there was no offer of ice for the drinks. The table hadn’t been cleaned it was sticky, there was a dirty mop and bucket in the customer area. The ladies toilets were filthy

Really poor experience here last night. When our starters were served there were no clean knives available. Told the staff who just sent us to another cutlery area on the other side of the bar (where there still were not enough for the whole table). When our main courses arrived, one main meal did not come out at all, and only when we chased it up did they eventually sort it (but by the time they had everyone else had already finished eating). The sides we ordered never came at all. Eventually spoke with a manager who seemed very disinterested - offered a refund on the sides (that we didn’t even get) and the one meal that was late. Given we didn’t even get the sides, and how long we waited for the missing main meal, this was not a sufficient gesture to make the experience better for us.

Wouldn’t stay here again. Beds very uncomfortable, very noisy, walls are as thin as paper. I could hear next doors alarm going off and vibrating on the side at 6am. Not a good experience

As wedding photographers, we were thoroughly impressed by the stunning wedding venue at The Farmhouse at Mackworth. The setting of the 18th-century farmhouse on the edge of the tranquil medieval village of Mackworth, with a stone's throw from the Peak District, made for an idyllic and picturesque background for the wedding photos. The charming venue, The Folly, provided the perfect space for the ceremony and reception, seamlessly blending old and new elements.

The staff at The Farmhouse were incredibly accommodating, providing excellent service and delicious food straight from the kitchen. The drinks were also crafted to perfection, adding to the overall experience. The 10 beautifully designed bedrooms provided a comfortable and convenient place for the couple and their guests to spend the night.

In conclusion, we would highly recommend The Farmhouse at Mackworth as a wedding venue for its stunning location, charming atmosphere, and top-notch service. The staff's attention to detail and their commitment to making each wedding day perfect is evident in the final result, and we were proud to have been a part of such a special event.
