They deliver what's promised.
Considering that there are so many fly-by-night companies out there trying to get you to sign up for whatever program they are trying to sell you to change careers, learn financial markets, sell on Amazon, or whatever the case may be, and once they have your money, You are often given only the bare minimum of what they promised, if that.
I can honestly say that Douglas James definitely delivers on what they promise. Everyone I dealt with from day one was pleasant and always eager to help, from sales to onboarding to instruction. The instructors are highly knowledgeable agency owners themselves. The course curriculum is very comprehensive and there there is seemingly an endless amount of online resources to learn from. With the quality of the instruction, and the volume of resources available, anyone who is willing to apply themselves could surely succeed with the Douglas James company.

Still Waiting for Douglas James to Respond to us about our $18K Refund
• On July 18, 2024, my partner and I attended a Douglas James webinar and were interested in learning more about a product they were selling. A Douglas James lead advisor contacted us and we verbally agreed to purchase the VIP product offered during the webinar. The lead advisor facilitated taking our payment in the amount of $18,000.00 and scheduled us to receive our purchase beginning July 23, 2024.
• On July 19, 2024, we changed our minds about wanting to purchase the product. We checked the Douglas James company website for information about the company’s refund policies. At the time, the “Terms of Service Section 6 – Refunds” page on their website clearly stated: “For non-subscription services Amped Local gives you, the buyer, may cancel this transaction at any time prior to midnight of the third day after the date of this transaction. All sales are final after the respective three (3) days.”
• On July 19, 2024, we submitted written notice to the company of our intent to walk away from the product and have our $18,000.00 payment returned to us in both text and email formats. After we submitted our notice of cancellation/refund, we received a Dropbox email with a document (contract) that the Douglas James company wanted us to sign. We neither viewed nor signed that document.
• On July 19, 2024, the lead advisor who facilitated taking our payment contradicted the company’s publicly posted refund policies and told us that the business has “a strict no refund/cancellation policy once a student makes the investment.” Since then, we noticed that the Douglas James company has updated and changed their refund policies page.
• Throughout the week beginning July 22, 2024, another Douglas James associate contacted us to “investigate” the situation and suggested to us that we may not receive the full return of our original payment. The associate has demonstrated a lack of progress or ability to adequately resolve this legal issue in a timely fashion.
• That same Douglas James associate who claimed to be “investigating” the situation told us they would provide us an update on the status of the company’s decision about our refund first on July 23, then July 26, then Aug 2, and then again Aug 6. As of today, Aug 8, We still have not received any real updates from the company about their decision to refund us our money. The only “update” we’ve received from them to date is some sort of variation of “we need more information from you" and/or "we need more time to look into this. We’ll get back to you by (insert unfulfilled timeline here).”
• On July 26, 2024, we spoke with another Douglas James associate who answered the phone contact number posted on its business website. That associate said they would have an update for us within 24-hours. We still have not received any update.
• Since July 19, 2024, persons associated with the Douglas James company have engaged us in ways that appear to demonstrate the intent to either delay or prevent the legal return of our $18,000.00 payment to us for the cancelled purchase.
• As of Aug 8, they still have not provided us with a direct response to our yes or no question about whether they’ve decided to return our money to us or not.
• We thought the Douglas James company business idea was interesting at first. But after experiencing all of the above with them, and still not having a resolution, we’ve come to the conclusion that, in our opinion, the Douglas James company seriously needs to improve their business processes and procedures. Our experiences with this company and its associates has also led us to believe that their lack of transparency and ambiguity in their responses to us throughout this whole process also demonstrates a lack of business integrity.

Regarding our policies, it’s important to understand that businesses, especially those offering high-value services, often have terms that reflect the commitment and resources dedicated to each client. This is why our refund policy is structured the way it is. The timing and method of communication, including the contract, are part of the standard process we follow to ensure clarity and mutual understanding.
We appreciate your patience as we work through this, and it’s important to note that we are committed to resolving this matter fairly. While we may not always arrive at the conclusions that everyone hopes for, our goal is to ensure that each decision is made with integrity and in accordance with the agreements in place.
We also recognize your feedback regarding the timeline of communication.
