Unprofessional conduct and a retracted refund

I paid this company (Mike Millner) $2,000 to help build and launch my first workshop funnel.

As the business owner, I wanted to be confident that the workshop title accurately reflected my evolving messaging before spending money to launch it. I refined the title approximately five times. These changes did not require the team to rebuild or revise any assets. I simply emailed my assigned contact with updated ideas and occasionally requested feedback. Their only additional involvement was responding to a few emails. Am I not entitled to approve the messaging for my own business before launching my first workshop without enraging the CEO?

The project had also been delayed because my child has been experiencing serious health problems, which substantially affected my availability.

After I emailed three new title options earlier today asking for the team’s preference, the owner (Mike Millner) responded that they could not “keep playing this game,” told me to “pick a title and go. Or don’t,” and exaggerated the situation as choosing between “17 titles every other week.”

Considering the actual impact on his team, I found his response dismissive, unnecessarily adversarial, and highly disproportionate.

When I objected to the way he had spoken to me, he did not acknowledge it or take accountability. Instead, he accused me of wanting to “bail and quit,” claimed I had been “waiting for the opportunity to pounce,” said I wanted to “make [him] the bad guy,” and added, “I guess our chat wasn’t as meaningful as I thought lol.”

This was not an attempt to resolve a professional disagreement. It was blame-shifting, minimizing, and a series of personal character judgments directed at a paying client.

He then wrote, “I will certainly process your refund.” I accepted his offer and requested the return of my $2,000. He subsequently reversed his position and refused to process it, citing a policy condition that he had not mentioned when offering the refund.

Although Trustpilot does not appear to allow me to attach screenshots as proof, I have retained the complete dated email thread and have written proof of every statement quoted in this review.

I have filed a dispute with my credit card company. If I had known before investing that this was how the company’s owner would communicate with a client who questioned his tone or set a boundary, I would not have purchased the service. Prospective clients can decide for themselves whether this is the kind of person and company they are comfortable trusting with their business.

Looking back at his sales call, I recall noting his demeanor was unfriendly but I figured hey, I don't need him to be friendly for this to work.

I feel absolutely bullied and personally insulted. Because I wanted some feedback on workshop titles? Really? Completely unprofessional and unacceptable behavior. Business coaches are a dime a dozen and your reputation is everything.
