Experience as React Js Intern
Unfortunately, I have found the experience to be quite discouraging , unproductive , disorganized and unprofessional. Despite my genuine efforts to contribute, I faced several issues that significantly affected the value of the internship :
1) Lack of Task Allocation: There was no proper structure or clarity in the distribution of tasks among interns, which led to confusion and inefficiency. Often, the assignments were either unclear or re-assigned without notification.
2) Unprofessional Working Hours: I was frequently asked to work beyond the stated working hours, which was unexpected and unmanaged.
3) Interns Managing Interns: Task allocation and performance reviews were often managed by other interns—who, like me, are still learners. This created confusion, led to favoritism, and affected the overall objectivity and professionalism of the internship environment.
4) Absence of Regular Communication: Timely meetings and updates were not conducted consistently, which created a gap in coordination and understanding among the team.
5) Work Taken Over by Seniors: On several occasions, the work I was assigned or began working on was later handled by a senior intern without any clarification or discussion.
6) Disregard for Commitments: I had informed the authority that I would be delivering my assigned tasks every day by 1:15 PM, but my efforts and communication were often overlooked, with no acknowledgment or feedback provided.
7) Partiality and Disrespect: Instances of disrespect towards interns during meetings were evident, and partial treatment was noticeable, despite equal contributions and timely submissions.
8) Request for Fake Reviews: Interns were repeatedly asked to post promotional reviews for the company on various public platforms, which I found ethically inappropriate and concerning.
This experience has left me feeling undervalued and mentally distressed, despite my sincere efforts to contribute positively to the organization. I believe that internships should offer a structured, respectful, and learning-oriented environment, which, regrettably, I did not experience here.
