I’ve been working with Christie for over 3 years now, and she has consistently been incredibly reliable and professional.
She has supported both me and my employer with end-to-end payroll services in Korea, including navigating complex areas like insurance, tax compliance, reporting, and year-end reconciliations. My situation hasn’t been straightforward either—I’ve had a mix of income sources, including RSUs and equity from overseas—and she has always taken the time to understand the details and handle everything properly.
What really stands out is her ability to deal with complicated, cross-border tax situations while still making things clear and manageable on my side. She’s always responsive, thorough, and proactive in making sure nothing falls through the cracks.
I highly recommend her to anyone dealing with taxes in Korea, especially if your situation involves international or more complex elements.

I am an expat and was confused with the Korean tax system as it is very different to my home country. Christie was very helpful in understanding my situation and identifying the key points I had to look out for. She also suggested additional advice and tips regarding Korean tax that I had not read online.

I asked Christie to help me complete my final tax filings before leaving Korea permanently. As I had a mix of business and salaried income, I always have filed independently in May but since I am due to leave Korea before the May filing season I was worried about being able to log into home tax without a valid phone number or ARC. Christie was very helpful and answered any questions I had promptly. Once I had collected the necessary documents and prepared my expenses list, she worked very quickly and completed the process within a few days. She gave me clear instructions on how to pay the balance of taxes owed. Notably, my tax bill was smaller than previous years when I had handled the filing myself and really shows the benefits of working with a good accountant!

My employment status changed from a regular company employee to a freelancer. After endless days of research and combing through both US and Korean tax laws, I was at my wit's end.
With one consultation Christie set my mind at ease, introducing me to the various options available to me and their various pros and cons.
Christie is not only well-versed in both US and Korean tax laws but also delivers the content in a systematic, well-digestible manner. If you need help understanding how international tax laws combine to affect your particular situation, Christie and her team are the obvious choice.

As a non-resident of Korea and looking to open a business in Korea, Christie was very helpful advising on the business set-up and tax planning.
I will highly recommend Christie to any expats or foreigners in Korea.

I recently consulted with Christie regarding a complex case involving both Korean and international taxation. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, thorough, and patient in explaining intricate tax rules and how they applied to my situation. Her expertise and clear guidance gave me great confidence in navigating both local and cross-border tax matters. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking reliable and professional tax advice in Korea.

Christie came prepared for our meeting. She thoroughly went over my questions while providing adequate Korean tax guidelines to back up her answers!
She also would make a note of what she's not certain to get back to me, which I really appreciated.
Would definitely use her service again in the future.

Christie is a very helpful and knowledgeable person; she has helped me understand my tax obligation and status in Korea, which is confusing for most expats in Korea. I highly recommend hiring her consultancy regarding the Korean taxation system.

After struggling for years trying to handle my taxes myself and encountering many issues along the way.
Christie has shown me the correct way, the efficiencies, expertise and patience she has shown working with me is remarkable.
Christie was able to give me tailored advice for my situation understood that as a foreigner and independent service provider my knowledge is no where close to that of a local.
The advice i received alone was more than worth the financial costs nevermind the financial benefits from working with someone with such expertise. Not just in the general sense but additionally it was the first time I felt comfortable and that my concerns were being addressed and understood as a non-korean.
I look forward to a continued partnership with Christie and Hana Tax.

Christie has helped me with my taxes in Korea for the past three years starting with a rush request to file my taxes in Korea. I've had a job and status change since then and has provided me with all of the information I need since then. Very helpful as an American living in South Korea.

Christie is unbeatable. She was my accountant for nearly five years, and I'm pretty sure whatever I paid her over that time is far below the value she created for me in terms of saved time and money. For knowledge and efficiency, I don't think I've worked with anyone who is as good at their job. I can't recommend her and Hana Tax highly enough.
If you're setting up as self-employed, you need someone who not only knows the system inside out but will put the effort in to get things done. There's various systems of taxes and expenses in South Korea that differ significantly from my experience in other countries. And what I've found is that there's a big difference between someone who knows the detail and someone who knows the detail and will do the hard work when their client is ignorant of the system. For that, I'll always be grateful to Christie and her team.
My only regret is that I can't continue to use Christie after I've left Korea. I'll struggle to find anyone as kind or as good at the job.

I highly recommend Christie Lee! I’m in the U.S. and needed advice on some very specific South Korean tax law issues. My tax advisor in the U.S. didn’t know the answers and I couldn’t find good information about it online. I can’t speak Korean so I’m grateful that I found Christie’s name and was able to speak to her about complicated issues in English. She was great!

I was really worried cause I didn’t know how to file my taxes for 2023 until I found Hanatax. Christie was a really big help, she helped me step by step and helped me sort out my taxes and made my fee smaller than I expected! She really is a great help and really kind about it too, I’m not very experienced, but she helped me! And I honestly would commission them for years to come.
If you’re a freelancer and find it difficult to do your taxes, I think Hanatax is a good investment, it saves you a lot of time!

I had a somewhat specific tax situation that I could not find definitive answers for online. Christie guided me through my situation and going over everything with her was very reassuring!
Now I'm at ease, being armed with the proper knowledge and feel ready to proceed with my employment plans.
It's definitely worth it to use Christie's services, just for the convenience and peace of mind.

I was rushing to file my taxes earlier this year and needed someone asap. A friend recommended Christie and she was quick to respond. She is very experienced and knew exactly what was needed for my visa to be renewed. Everything was done within the week and I successfully renewed my visa a few months later. I would highly recommend her service!
