Alla Z is a scammer
Alla Z is a scammer. I scheduled her to clean my house on October 22nd and today (October 14th) she marked the task completed and submitted an invoice for an hour of work.
Tasker no showed... then cancelled my task, AFTER he was supposed to show up and I can't even contact TaskRabbit until they open the next day?
Tasker no showed... Taskrabbit has an intense cancellation policy to protect their taskers, but not the same courtesy for the clients who book them. I had a task on the calendar for almost a week, when my tasker asked me the morning of, if my schedule was flexible. I told him it was not (hence why I had booked so far ahead) and he said nothing. Then, 10 minutes after he is supposed to arrive, he just says, sorry I can't make it. When I question this, he cancels my task and says I will assign you to someone else. Well, the someone else was NOT available that same day, so now I am waiting another 5 days to when I am free again. My task was to help me with a furtniture modification because of a medical issue, and there was no care or concern given to the client for a tasker who just doesn't show up and messages after the fact. Then, when I try to contact taskrabbit at 6PM PST, there is NO way to contact them, or even send an email, I have to wait unti they open, at which time I am busy working. What a horrible policy...24 cancellation is requried for your clients, but your taskers or employees can just no show, with no penalty or something to make this right on the side of the client? Unbelieveably one-sided... I won't use taskrabbit anymore.
As a Tasker using this app
As a Tasker using this app, you get no support and most of the customers don’t explain exactly what they want and then when you arrive at their place, they want you to do more and wonder why you’ve charged extra money. it’s like today I had to drive one hour round-trip to do the job. I told the client I will be charging for that hours drive. They didn’t understand well an hour drive is an hour of my time. I tried to paint some person‘s rental property, shit floors, canvas floors, somebody else’s shit, paint job and now you’re supposed to cover all this up then they wonder why brown walls that they want painted white Takes three coats. I hate this app. I don’t know why I use it. I think today will be my last day as a Tasker. I’m tired of the clients. I’m tired of getting screwed over the app charges clients $55 while I make 40. . You do a yard job you take 10 bags to 15 bags of yard waste and because you don’t tell them that you need to bring it to the dump then they refused to pay the extra money of the dump or the hours long drive that it takes to get to the dump. Yeah I’ve been frustrated with this app for years at the same time. It does bring me 5 to $10,000 a year so I don’t know it’s tough to deal with the stupidity.
Not all tasks are the same!!!
I contacted Taskrabbit to find a tasker for building and mounting a large TV stand. I booked ARIO E. and didn’t quite understand what the message from Task Rabbit was stating that they were sorry that the tasker could not do the job. So I rebooked the timeframe for the same tasker once more and this is the answer I got » Ario E. has just sent you a message regarding your task: Furniture Assembly.
Ario E.
"Why are you bothering me by sending a lot of task request"
Monday, 25/08/25, 16:01« to which I replied « You don't have to be rude. I didn't know. I sent two task requests. I didn't understand the message from Taskrabbit who was also sending me something on the cell.
Sorry to have bothered you. ». Now what I would like to say is that in the past I have used Task Rabbit with a certain tasker called Patrick W. and he did a great job and was super clean. But if I hadn’t worked with him before , after the comment that I had received from ARIO E., I do not think that I would have attempted to contact another tasker. But I did and he was very courteous and answered me quickly and will be coming this week. My point is that you should chat with your TASK ER before they come to your house, because I am surely glad that this person.ARIO E. Did not come to mine!!! Whether someone’s having a bad day or not it’s not a way to answer another person.
A Bitter Experience: 1.5 Years as One of the Highest-Rated Taskers in This Awful App
This is the experience of someone who has been among the top taskers in this platform—both in terms of client ratings and hourly earnings. It’s long, but please take the time to read it carefully so you don’t end up wasting your time and money like I did.
1. There is no proper support system.
There’s no office, no phone number, even an email address, no real people to talk to. When you run into a problem, you’re forced to message a so-called support team that replies after long delays (sometimes days), with copy-pasted, irrelevant, or completely incorrect responses. These agents are shockingly unqualified, don’t even understand their own program’s rules, and worst of all—they have no access to your support history, so each time, you have to explain everything from the beginning. After days or weeks, you might get a resolution—or not.
2. Clients cancel tasks for no reason and it punishes YOU.
Many clients cancel tasks frequently, sometimes because they don’t know how to use the app. They face no consequences. But multiple cancellations (even if it’s not your fault) can get your account deactivated—without warning. Then you’re told by support to “just wait.” You could be waiting weeks, months, or forever. Nobody cares.
3. There is no transparency in how tasks are distributed.
Some weeks you get back-to-back tasks. Some weeks, you get absolutely nothing—even if you’re online and available. There’s no explanation. It’s like rolling dice. And no, support doesn’t know either.
4. Worst of all: a major bug has ruined two months of my income.
Two months ago, I met all the requirements to become Elite. But because of a bug in their system—which they themselves admitted—all my scores in every category show as zero, so the app thinks I don’t qualify. I’ve been fighting with support every single day since July 1st. I’ve submitted multiple complaints. All I get back are meaningless replies: “we understand,” “we’re working on it,” “thank you for your patience.”
It’s been TWO MONTHS. How is it possible that a company this big can’t fix such a simple bug?
⸻
Conclusion:
You’re making money for them, not for yourself. And they offer nothing in return—not support, not reliability, not respect. Just empty apologies and robotic replies. I truly hope this app either improves drastically or disappears, so others don’t waste their time, money, and energy like I did.
Stay away. You’ve been warned.
Avoid this business at all costs
On June 1, 2025, I scheduled a service through TaskRabbit with a confirmed appointment time of 3:30 PM. The assigned Tasker notified me that she could not arrive at the scheduled time and repeatedly refused to provide an updated ETA, despite multiple requests. Due to her inability to commit to a revised time, I was left with no option but to cancel the task and seek alternate help.
At that time, TaskRabbit allowed the cancellation through their platform and initially released the hold on my card. However, on June 3, I discovered an unauthorized charge of $61.94 labeled as a “cancellation fee.” This charge is both inappropriate and deceptive, as no service was rendered and the Tasker was clearly at fault for failing to fulfill the appointment or provide a revised arrival time.
I spent over five hours attempting to resolve this through TaskRabbit’s support channels with no resolution. There appears to be no escalation path or formal grievance process available to customers, and no mechanism to leave feedback about TaskRabbit’s policies or business practices.
This situation constitutes a deceptive business practice—charging consumers for services not rendered, and failing to provide meaningful customer support or remedy. I am requesting that TaskRabbit immediately refund the $61.94 fee and update their policies to protect consumers from being unfairly charged in similar situations. If this issue is not resolved promptly, I will pursue additional action through appropriate regulatory channels.
Task Rabbit proceed with caution advice…
Task Rabbit proceed with caution advice not to use. They have access to your Visa card and charge you even when you don’t use the service they have access to your Visa card be careful and no refund and hard to get a hold of
Terrible
They assembled an Ikea corner wardrobe. It looked ok at first so I gave a good review. Then I realised the door didn’t fit the doorway because the wardrobe had not been fitted the right distance from the wall. He came back and fixed it, then when I started putting shelves and drawers in the corner section I found the holes don’t match up because he has put the inner wall on the outside and vice versa. Shelves are not level, drawers are not level although they are the same number of holes apart. I gave a good review, tipped him £20 and now I have to take it apart and re do it myself. I have texted him and he is refusing to come back.
Task Rabbit - first and last time
This was my first, and last, time use Task Rabbit for the following reasons:
I hired the Tasker for several minor home repairs. They did competent work. But the Tasker billed me for an hour more than the time they were at my home (no travel fee). They aknowledged that they had done so when I challenged them, claiming that the added more since some of the tasks should be billed at higher 'plumbing' rate. They also justified by saying they arrived outside my home earlier than the appointment (?????) and then rounded up to the nearest hour.
I tried to resolve with the Tasker but could not. I called Task Rabbit customer service and they immediately agreed to refund a portion of the time overcharged. But it turned out that the Tasker had started his Task Rabbit time clock when he arrived at my home (despite not actually coming to the door until later - just after the actual appointment time). Task Rabbit used his time clocking - so refunded 0.75 hour rather than the full hour I felt I was owed.
After the adjustment, I had paid $470 for 4.75 hours of routine home maintenance tasks. That total included 2 fees to Task Rabbit themselves: $64 'Trust and Support Fee' and $64 'Task Rabbit Service Fee'. It also included a healthy tip I had left before becoming aware of the overcharging.
I felt I was deliberately overcharged and that the Tasker manipulated his time logging. Task Rabbit could have taken a more fair customer service approach.
I won't use Task Rabbit again. You py a hefty premium assuming that you are getting quality service, that they will oversee, and that any issues will be resolved.
Misrepresentation and Untrained Taskers
I recently used TaskRabbit's assembly service through IKEA's website and was highly disappointed. The marketing implied that the assembly services were provided by IKEA professionals, but in reality, they were carried out by untrained individuals registered on TaskRabbit. These taskers lacked the necessary tools and experience to complete the job properly.
Additionally, TaskRabbit's website provides inflated statistics and misrepresents its Trustpilot star rating, showing it as 4.5 stars when the actual rating is 3.2 stars. This misleading information led to a subpar and unsafe experience. TaskRabbit needs to address these issues to ensure transparency and trustworthiness.
Hit or Miss: Taskrabbit Moving
I had two different moving projects where I chose four Movers.
Three of the four were excellent.
One was a no-show and didn't respond to my texts.
Taskrabbit doesn't have a way where I could share feedback about a Tasker. For example, I can't give a negative review such as, 'unreliable.'
There is a link within the person's profile, 'Give us Tasker Feedback,' but it doesn't work.
As long as you're mindful of who you hire, it's a good service. The one complaint is the administrative overhead is expensive.
I’m surprised to see such poor reviews…
I’m surprised to see such poor reviews because my experience was terrific. The Tasker arrived on time, was professional, pleasant, fast and efficient. I would definitely recommend Craig. I’m in the South Bay.
My experience has been awful with this…
My experience has been awful with this company. The first booking I made the tasker ruined my walls, he stated he knew how to use drywall compound to patch up uneven walls, the mess he made was incredible, let's just say, I spent more money on having it repaired. The company did offer me a 150.00 credit off my bill that I paid to be used on other services TaskRabbit offers. I've tried booking a cleaning service, twice they were a no show, then I booked a shelf install, again no show for appointment. I've been trying to get my 150.00 back but company will not give me back the money.
My advice is to stay away from TaskRabbit. I will never use them again.
If I could give 0 starts I would
If I could give 0 starts I would. I hired a tasker and he cancelled an hour before he was supposed to come. He then said he would come the following day and never showed up or messaged me. I decided to give the company a second chance and hired another tasker to assemble furniture. Guess what, he also never showed up or returned my messages. Horrible and unprofessional will never recommend.
Beware - Do NOT USE for IKEA furniture!!!
I've used this company twice now to build IKEA Pax closets. (They are partnered with IKEA now so you need to use them if you want to hire someone to assemble your IKEA furniture.) The first experience I had was amazing, the guy I was assigned showed up with all the necessary equipment and built my 5 door closet in under 2 hours.
However, my second experience with this app was absolutely the worst experience that I have ever had with any sort of service. I bought another, 2 door Pax closet and decided to use the app again. The man who accepted the job ended up showing up with a friend, and they both were teenagers. They had no equipment with them and had absolutely no idea how to build IKEA furniture. Not only did they screw the entire base on backwards, and crooked. They broke a drawer and installed the remaining ones incorrectly, they installed the divider backwards, they broke both doors and left them uninstalled with extra screw holes throughout. They admitted the job was too hard for them so left after four hours with a half built closet. I complained to the app, sent multiple pictures and listed all of the parts that were broken. Their email response to me was that they could give me a $50 credit and refund the cost of the service. They now refuse to respond to me after I pointed out that my product is damaged and they owe me more than a refund. I spent $500 on this closet and trusted their app to build it for me and I'm left with a completely unusable product, through no fault of my own. If you try to phone them, the recording always just says "due to the high volume of calls we aren't taking calls at the moment" which is clearly just a standard recording they use. The company is taking no responsibility for their services and instead told me that they are "a technology company that connects users". So basically they are telling me "too bad about your bad luck". So I'd like to warn other users out there to think twice before using this app as if anything goes wrong with their services, you likely will not get any sort of compensation.
Terrible protection/warranty
I wish I could give negative stars. Don't get fooled by their so-called "pledge"! I engaged one of the taskers to mount the TV stand to the wall as per IKEA's recommendation. 6 months later, the tv stand fell off. I emailed taskrabbit and was informed that service from IKEA will only be covered up to 90 days. The thing is this policy has never been communicated with us before and during the installation. If so, we would go with someone who offers better warranty terms.
