Disappointing, but rectified in the end.
Room: Would have been OK at half the price, but at 1700 kroner/night, one would certainly expect more. No minibar, no coffee/tea/snacks, no phone, no power outlets near the bed, small tv etc. When we arrived, the porch door was open, which we thought was weird, but didn't think more of it. Found out later that evening why though, the A/C could not be adjusted and was set way too high, so at bedtime, the temperature was around 24 degrees. Called reception, was told he didn't know how to adjust it (a pin-code was needed) but he would check and come up to the room later to fix it. This never happened, so the only way we could get some sleep was by opening the porch door again. Since the door was open when we arrived, they of course knew about this. We forgot to pay 2 small bottles of cider when we left, so the compensation they offered was that we didn't have to pay for those. With spa and food, we spent between 5500-6000,- for one night, and ended up with a 138,- compensation. As an alternative, we could get a 500,- gift card, but to get that we'd have to spend 5-10 times that on a new stay, and that's not happening.
Restaurant: Limited menu, but that usually means that service is semi-fast. Appetizer arrived within 5-10 minutes, so that was good, but the main course took almost 1 hour to arrive. When we wanted to order desert, we tried getting someone to come by our table, but the waiters just walked by without even looking in our direction. Finally, I had to walk over to the bar to get the attention of a staff member, then we were able to order and when wait another 20-25 minutes for the desert to arrive.
Food itself was ok, so that's why this is not a 1 star review.
All in all, a disappointing experience that they had a chance to rectify, but chose not to.
Update: They contacted me after the initial review and offered a better compensation, one that I was satisfied with, so I have changed it from 2 to 4 stars.
