So bad

Literally the worst customer service I have ever experienced from a wine merchant. Will never use again.

1. Got my name wrong - called me Colin - my name is Claire
2. Sent my delivery to completely the wrong address then didn’t apologise
3. I asked to speak to a manager and was completely ignored
4. I called up and spoke in English, was hung up on twice. I spoke in Italian and someone finally spoke to me.
4. Case worth nearly £200 was sent to a neighbour, the driver never left a note or notified me which house number it was left at. When I asked Tannico to help and call me back that day, as it had already been literally months since i had placed the order, he agreed to call me back that day. He called back 3 days later and told me that it was with ‘Val’ (?!). Unbeknownst to me, Val lives half way up my road and I had no idea who this was. I managed to find the distributor’s number and called myself to sort it out, totally without the help of Tannico. It was the first time I bought with them... never ever again.

Hello Claire,
I am in charge of customer care and I'd like to personally apologise once again with you for the poor experience you had with us.
I am investigating what happened when you tried calling us and couldn't talk to our agents. All of our staff is fully proficient in English and does not discriminate clients based on the language they speak, I can guarantee you that.
Unfortunately UPS got your address completely wrong and for three times tried to deliver your order somewhere else. For three times they also tried reaching you on the phone but always hit voice mail, it was a bad coincidence because being able to talk to you would have probably fixed everything much sooner.

When you placed your order we anticipated the shipment to happen by the 13th of March, which is when UPS started attempting the delivery to the wrong address (due to the fact the two streets have the same name, which is no excuse and is something I have never seen in my career before).

Finally, I have here your messages asking for UPS to leave the parcel with a neighbour, which is what we passed to UPS:
14th of March: "The delivery will need to go to a neighbour as I work 9-5 and will not be home to receive it."
23rd of March: "again please deliver to a neighbour"
29th of March: " If they delivered it to a neighbour as I requested"
Again, I am so sorry Val was't the neighbour you had in mind.

A series of unfortunate events caused that much delay, which we managed to sort out in the end.
I really hope you could give us another chance so that perhaps we can help you changing your mind about us and our customer service.

la ringrazio per il suo riscontro. Nel caso del suo ordine avevamo indicato una finestra di spedizione fra l'11 e il 14 marzo poiché alcune delle bottiglie che ha ordinato non erano direttamente disponibili presso i nostri magazzini.
Abbiamo anticipato la nostra previsione di un paio di giorni, affidando l'ordine al corriere il 9 marzo e per essere in consegna da Lei il 12.

Detto questo, lavoriamo ogni giorno per migliorare ciascun aspetto del servizio che offriamo ai nostri clienti e le tempistiche di spedizione sono fra i temi che ci stanno più a cuore!

Rip off

I recently tried to purchase a particular wine from the Tannico web site. I found the wine I was looking for, and was pleased due to rare availability. I paid a premium for the wine, but didn’t care because I finally found the wine available. What arrived was a completely, much less expensive wine from the same Vineyard. When I told them of the mistake, their reply was that I received the correct wine, and that they made a mistake by using the wrong picture(of the wine I was looking for)and really couldn’t care less about their mistake. So, in the long run, I paid almost twice the amount for an inferior wine, and Customer Care(an oxymoron) in this case, is willing to do nothing. Avoid this place like the Plague.

we are terribly sorry for what happened with your order. As our customer care told you, the wine you were looking for is no longer imported in Italy, and we were unable to source it for you. Its picture was mistakenly shown instead of the wine we were selling, hence the confusion. We offered you several ways to make up for that from the very beginning. ranging from return and refund to discount. It was all we could do not being able to supply you with the wine of your choice. I hope you could give us another chance in the future!

Avoid this company!

Quite appalling customer service from this company. They mixed up my order with another customer who lives in England (I'm in Scotland). They have done nothing to try and resolve it. I have now emailed them 5 times as well as speaking to them on the phone and they have simply done nothing. The other lady who has my order has also contacted them but we are no further forward. I will never order anything from this company again as the customer service is non-existant. I hate to post negative reviews but it has now been over a week since I first contacted them and they are just ignoring me. I understand how the mistake happened (the order numbers were very similar) and if it had been resolved quickly there would have been no issue but the lack of communication is simply unacceptable. It appears that myself and the other customer may have to arrange redelivery ourselves (despite having already paid for shipping) I would recommend avoiding this company

Huge catastrophy!

Horrible service! Ordered wine, which was on stock, to Germany. Called them on the order day, Thursday and I was told the order is going to be shipped the same day or next day. Called them Friday evening. Now the agent said the package is ready but shipments to Germany are only processed on Tuesday and Thursday, seriously? This is the 21st century! Adapt your logistics and be honest. On the homepage is written that all shipments are made with UPS Express, the hotline told me that shipments to Germany are made by Hermes, a much cheaper service, another lie! The German 030 hotline is unreachable, only calls to Italy are accepted. We will see if I ever receive my first and last order at this place...

Update after reading you reply:

I have placed my shipment on a Thursday. Normally this shipment should have been processed on Thursday, considering that UPS Express guarantees shipments within 24 hours from Milano to Germany, I would have received it next day. Instead you, as previously mentioned shipped the parcel on the coming Tuesday, with Hermes, which delivered only on Saturday, instead of 24 hours later, like UPS. Furthermore, they have placed the 2 parcels in front of my door without receiving any signature from me. Meanwhile, while my parcel was still at your warehouse, you have applied a good discount on the wine, as it was Black Friday. You refused to grant me this discount and instead gave me some funny discount on my next order, despite the fact that the wine was in your possession for four more days. Seriously, your service is horrible and I definitely will never again order at your place.

Your product was delivered 8 days after it was placed, including weekends, which we think it is fair considering it has to pass excise duties clearance before being delivered.

I am at my wits end with Tannico

I am at my wits end with Tannico. They blatantly lie, offer no communication and leave a very nasty taste in your mouth. On October the 18th, I ordered 6 bottles of wine at a cost of £333. This order was allegedly shipped on the 27th of October. On November the 9th I rang Tannico to advise the wine had not been delivered. I was astounded when they told me the wine was scheduled for shipping the following day leaving me wondering about the shipping discrepancy. Fast forward to November the 17th, and you guessed it......still no wine. I sent an email and received one back on November the 21st stating it had been shipped from Italy on the 17th. Three separate shipping dates in total. I have actually given up hope of receiving my wine and will be contacting Barclaycard to get them to get my money back. It’s a shame because some of the wines they stock are gorgeous. From now on though I will be using xtrawine and wine is terroir for my £300-£500 monthly wine allowance. Both these wine shipping company’s give you good communication, don’t lie and give you your wine in a timely fashion. Stay well away from Tannico.

Eventually this will lead to even larger catalogue and much faster shipping times and better service switching from Yodel to UPS. In the transition we experienced some delay that affected a small fraction of our orders.
We offered full cooperation presenting you with the options to either wait or get full refund, there is no need for you to ask Barclay for that because we never oppose your decision.

Almost a month and still no wine. Scam?

Ordered my wine on the 15th of September, the shipping was going to happen on the 3rd of October which as it is quite a long delivery time. It is 10th of October - still no wine. I called them the first time and got nowhere, the number didn't work, wrote an email which was replied to much later. Second time I called them, they surprisingly picked up and said the wine was in UK and there's just a "small" problem with logistics but by 6th of October it will 100% arrive. On 6th of October I received an email saying they are sorry it hasn't arrived yet.. and I will get (GASP!) a 5% discount if I still decide to order next time. Now its 10th of October, I sent another email and there is no reply. Terrible customer service, very high prices, big discrepancy between English and Italian website in terms of price and actually Im currently unsure if it is even a legit business or a total scam. I only ordered from them because that specific wine I could not find anywhere else. Spare yourself the pain and use something like Xtrawine. Ordered many many times through them and was never disappointed.

We are at your complete disposal for fixing your issue either refunding your order or making sure it will be delivered as soon as possible.
The cost and time required to serve England are due to strict regulations in the destination country, other sites could be faster or cheaper bending rules at their convenience, but then I am not sure who can be called a legit business...
We are the largest e-commerce site in Italy, having served more than 50.000 happy customers over the past four years, I am very sorry we could not deliver our outstanding customer service with your case.

Awful customer service - late delivery and total lack of communication

I ordered from Tannico for the first and last time in August. Their customer service is horrible and delivery schedules are unrealistic. A timeline of my issues:

*29th August*: placed order with expected shipment date of 12th September
13th September: I email customer service when they did not confirm the shipment. Claudio replies that they are late with shipment, should ship it by the end of the week but does not give a date. I reply stating I needed the wine for a party over the weekend and am very disappointed and would like a refund or compensation for the delay. No reply.
14th September: I email Claudio again asking for compensation. No reply.
15th September. I email Claudio again. No reply.
18th September: I email Claudio again. No reply.
18th September: Wine received five days late. I am inconvenienced as I specifically ordered it for a wine tasting.

I would not use Tannico again based on their lack of customer service, bad communication and late delivery timelines.

we provide shipping date when we confirm an order and not delivery date which can be variable depending on the destination address.
We committed to dispatch your order by the 12th of September but we did on the 15th. We are terribly sorry for the 3 days delay! Unfortunately shipping from Italy to the UK is not as quick as elsewhere in Europe due to specific regulations in terms of excise duty clearance.
I hope you can change your mind and come back among our happy customers to enjoy the largest available selection of Italian wines!

No reaction in 7 days

Ordered wines on monday, no reaction in 7 days.
After an order confirmation on 10th of september and the message that i would get shipping information there is no reaction since then, even not on my mail I have sent on 14/09.
So I am still waiting..........

Not buying from them any more after huge price increase

Initially was a big fan of them, ordered 4 or 5 times. However they have recently increased the UK prices by 50%+ in some cases, which does not make sense to buy from them any more - my local wine shop around the corner has better prices on the same wines. Selection of natural wines deteriorated as well.

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless, ordered on 1. August for delivery in Germany which was meant to be a birthday present for my dad. According to website delivery in Germany is within 2-3 days and cost is 9.95 Euros.
As it happens goods only arrived at distributor in Germany on 8. August and only god knows when will arrive at my dads.
Never again!

Unfortunately our logistic partner collects the parcels from our warehouse in bulk but in this case, mostly due to the fact that in Italy everything is a bit slowed down in August. This should not allow us not to be able to keep our promises though.

Complete fail

I placed an order for 5 bottles of wine at the beginning of December which was due for delivery by Friday 16th December. The date came and went and I received nothing from the company. By 20th December I emailed to ask where my order was and received a notification that I had received a refund and also a message from Tannico to say as three bottles were not available, in order to ship my order as soon as possible, they were being taken from the order. However the message said that they would be delivered in January! This happened again with another of the bottles so I have asked for the order to be cancelled however I am still waiting for a response. The order contained a couple of special hard- to-find bottles for Christmas so it was very disappointing. If I had known sooner about the problems I could have sourced them from elsewhere. The company made no effort to put the issue right and following this experience I can recommend that people avoid this company completely.
