Always a pleasure dealing…

Always a pleasure dealing with/volunteering with the TR. Although the parcel has not arrived yet, I am sure everything will be up to your usual high standards.

Thanks again and keep well.

We were in North Wales for a holiday.
Everyone that we met whilst travelling on the Talyllyn Railway were courteous, informative and adhering to the Covid 19 regulations scrupulously.
A very good experience and we would recommend it to everyone!

A GREAT AFTERNOON

My husband and I travelled on the steam train last week, and found it to be a very enjoyable and safe experience. Our pre-booked carriage had our name on the window, so we knew where we were meant to be. There was a plastic screen between us and the next carriage, and the next carriage was left empty for our trip. We had also pre-booked a hamper each, which was brought to our carriage before the train departed. Each hamper contained a sandwich, crisps, a sausage roll, two mini quiches, a salad bowl, and a bottle of water, which I considered great value for £8.50. The 2½ hour return journey include a break where refreshments were available, and time for some fresh air.
All of the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful.

A great trip out

We had an excellent time. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and our cream teas were waiting for us upon arrival. My toddler loved riding on the ‘choo choo’!

A return visit to the world's first preserved railway. A wonderful experience. Friendly, helpful staff, immaculate loco and rolling stock and a journey through beautiful Welsh countryside.

A Grand Day Out

I ordered over the phone and spoke with a very helpful lady. We were able to book a compartment at the time and on the date we needed.
Especially given the restrictions in place lately, we had a really good trip along the line and back in our compartment - there was plenty of space for us (two adults, one child plus his pushchair and paraphenalia, and one dog).

Two locos in steam and even the weather was superb!

Thanks to all involved!

Great fun morning out

Great fun morning out, beautiful views from the train, and friendly helpful staff. We loved watching the red kites.
Great beef stew in the cafe afterwards, too. Would recommend.

Fabulous trip. What wonderful volunteers!! Thanks all.

Everyone was so welcoming and friendly. They have a great set up to allow social distancing. The views are amazing and it's just a great opportunity to chill out from the hum drum of our busy lives and appreciate the beauty in nature.
Don't forget to select 'gift aid' when you purchase your ticket.
Thanks all, loved it!!

A great experience.

A most enjoyable visit to this heritage railway. It was good to see the old working narrow guage steam railway and the scenery, even on a wet day, was stunning. Originally used to bring slate down from the quarries it became a tourist railway when the slate quarries closed. The covid 19 precautions were superb and we always felt safe. The volunteers are always ready to talk of their work, the history of the railway and of the engines. Don't hesitate to ask questions. This would have been a 5 star review but for the grumpy staff in the cafe at Tywyn.

Brilliant day, stunning railway with fantastic views, fantastic value for money!

I had a fantastic day on Talyllyn railway with my family of 6. At a cost of £66 for a trip along the whole line for all 6 of us It was a bargain, even more so when you factor in the £5 drinks voucher.

For me what made it the biggest bargain was that the same family of 6 would have to have paid £126 for the same length of ride in coaches which where not as nice on the Ffestiniog Railway.

As a driver on another heritage railway, and steam enthusiasts. I think Talyllyn system for a steam railways in the age of covid is the gold standard of how to do it!

I’d also like to thank the guard on the 14:10 train on Tuesday the 29th of September, as my 2 year old nephew had a little accident after picking up a hot drink. She was so helpful, understanding and sprinted to get ice for him. He left the railway non the worse for ware and with a big smile on his face, like the rest of us :)

Thank you Talyllyn Iv Fallen in love with your railway :)
