Issues since service was carried out.
In November 2025, Switchheat carried out the annual service of our boiler and hot water tank — the second service since installation. The appointment was completed quickly and we were advised that everything was in order.
However, in February 2026, a leak appeared in our living room directly above the hot water tank. We contacted Switchheat immediately, but were told the earliest they could attend was in four days. Given the urgency of an active leak, we contacted another firm, who arrived within two hours that same evening.
They identified the cause as an expansion vessel that had not been recharged for some time. As a result, water had been discharging through the overflow pipe, ultimately causing the leak. While the pipe itself should not have leaked, we were advised that if the expansion vessel had been properly recharged during the service, this issue would not have occurred.
We have since raised this with Switchheat, but they have denied any responsibility and maintain that the service was carried out correctly.
