We are a swimming business that offers something a little bit more. We teach alongside Swim England's national plan for teaching swimming and also the more holistic Shaw method approach to swimming alongside open water coaching and wild swimming. I love the water and teach with enthusiasm and passion. it is so important to me that my students get a great experience in the water and we develop the foundational skills correctly.

My children have been with Ed since before Christmas and his demeanour and his softness when dealing with my boys is totally what they need, and Cooper is now swimming!!!!
Can’t recommend him enough!
Both my children have had a fantastic first lesson with Scarlett. My daughter was able to improve her front crawl technique and my son is now able to do a star float on his back. She could tell exactly what the children needed to do to get to the next step.
Edward is a great teacher, my daughter was put at ease straight away and after a few weeks I can already see her confidence growing in the water.
After years without practice, I decided to improve my swimming skills due to a previous negative experience. What started as a refresher soon turned into a deep passion, thanks to Ed's patient guidance and teaching. His approach offers a refreshing perspective on swimming, making it both fun and an excellent workout.
I cannot recommend Ed enough!!
Such a great swimming teacher and both my kids really love their lessons with Ed.
His teaching style is clear and calm and he adds in some really great humour to keep the kids smiling and laughing throughout the lesson. Each time I can see clear progress with my son and daughter.
Thank you Ed!!
My daughter really looks forward to her swimming lessons with Edward. He is patient and encouraging, and makes every session fun. She’s always smiling in the pool and growing more confident each week. I highly recommend swimforlife.
Edward is a wonderful teacher! My grandson struggles with attention and focus and had not progressed over a number of months, at his previous swimming classes. I decided to move him after being recommended to Edward. He has had a couple of lessons with him now and is really enjoying Edward's teaching style. He is patient, calm and kind. I can already see improvements in my grandson's swimming ability and technique, which is a result of Edward's nurturing and confidence building approach. Thank you so much !
My son has had lessons with Edward and Scarlett. They are both professional and have a great approach to teaching swimming techniques. My son has dyspraxia so takes longer to pick some things up and needs a particular approach, which they have been happy to accommodate.
A fantastic swimming experience for my son, who is showing progression already. Highly recommend.
We have recently started lessons with Edward and his team. Both Edward and Scarlet are incredibly patient and knowledgeable and have excellent methods of getting the best out of my little one who has lots of energy! Edward's communication is clear and he always responds quickly and thinks about options available for us. Thank you!
Edward has been fantastic in helping me improve my swimming technique for an upcoming event. Highly recommended.
Edward and Scarlett were excellent with our 2 kids, providing tailored sessions that improved their skills and confidence. Edward was really sensitive to our son, who was very nervous and uncooperative to begin with, he got him swimming and enjoying himself, which was great. Edward was flexible and accommodating in the face of pool breakdowns and wasp stings!

Edward has a very calm and kind manner and helped me relax my technique to be less of a fight and more of a long pleasant process. At the end of a couple of lessons the sensation of drowning at speed was mostly gone! I recommend to anyone who finds that swimming is exhausting but they’re not sure why!

I was looking for a one off session to tweak my technique before a triathlon and Edward delivered the goods- clear, comprehensive coaching, and I felt so much more confident. He was polite, professional and helpful. Couldn’t recommend him enough. Thank you!!

Edward is an excellent teacher and we have been super-happy to be able to take advantage of his coaching.
Thoroughly recommend his services and our lad is progressing well, improving and really enjoying himself!
I initially sought some swimming practise after a bad experience from years of neglecting my swimming.
What became a brush up of skills quickly became a newfound passion owing to Ed's patience and instruction.
His methods will introduce you to a new way of swimming that's both enjoyable and good exercise
I had some lessons with Edward to improve my swimming technique and learnt a huge amount from him. It was particularly encouraging to see vast improvements after every session. Edward is always patient and encouraging, I’d recommend him to anyone!
Our 5 year old son started swimming with Edward after struggling to concentrate long enough to learn anything in group lessons. Edward has been wonderfully patient with him and managed to get him to pay attention long enough to actually make progress, which we are delighted about. We were initially unsure about the additional cost of private lessons, but our son has improved more in a few weeks with Edward than he did at months of group lessons, which makes it more than worth it. It’s also great to see him learning to swim properly and we are pleased that Edward doesn’t just let him splash around but is introducing an element of technique from the start, which we hope will set him up well for being a strong swimmer later in life. We would definitely recommend Edward as an experienced and extremely patient instructor.
Our 6 year old son who is autistic as well has been having lessons with Edward for about 2 months now, and he has improved a lot, is more confident in water and he loves his swimming lessons with Edward, unlike before when he was doing group sessions, and was finding it very challenging. Edward is extremely thoughtful and patient with our son, and has tailored his teaching lessons to meet his needs, as he can be a bit defiant sometimes, wanting to do what he wants to do, and saying no to whatever else he doesn't want to, haha.. but its a joy to see his swimming happily along.
We are very happy with the improvements so far, and we would highly recommend Edward's excellent services , more so if you have a little one with challenging needs, as for our own, he has been helped greatly.
Excellent coaching tailored to my child’s needs. Very knowledgeable instructor. Brilliant manner with my children, patient and engaging.
