I am very disappointed with the support…

I am very disappointed with the support I received from the representative of Swedbank Lithuania after my phone was stolen while I was in London, UK.
My phone contained the Swedbank app as well as Smart-ID, which meant I suddenly lost access to my bank account. I immediately called the bank’s representative to ask for assistance and guidance on how I could safely regain access to my account.
Unfortunately, the responses I received were both surprising and frustrating. I was essentially told that if your phone is stolen, there is no way to access your account remotely. The only solution offered was to travel to Lithuania in person to restore access.
For a modern bank serving clients who travel and live abroad, this is extremely impractical. Situations like phone theft are not uncommon, and there should absolutely be secure alternative ways for customers to regain access to their accounts without having to travel to another country.
This experience left me feeling unsupported at a time when I urgently needed help. I sincerely hope the bank reviews its procedures and introduces more flexible and customer-friendly solutions for cases like this.

The WORST bank in the history of banks

The WORST bank in the history of banks. DO NOT OPEN ACCOUNT WITH THEM! Poorly functioning just from technical service: for english press 2 - it will continue talking in lithuanian. If you have non-lithuanian phone number , they say they will be able to send a message but 9 out of 10 you wont get it. They say you have $20K unlimited per month transfers, but will freeze your account for a 500 bucks transfer. They say they participate in SEPA , but blacklist or shadow ban banks within SEPA they dont like and say it is for YOUR security. They will give you a run around. They will make you wait for a week to get a ticket to come to a branch. IF you want a PURE nightmare experience - SWEDBANK will be your best option! Frankly, it is pathetic, embarrassing, backwards, absurd and low quality. AVOID! AVOID!

Terrible customer service

My mother's online banking was blocked because of the international (Germany) transfer of 500€. She went to the bank this past Friday to resolve the situation, which they couldn't on the spot and gave her a ticket to come back on Monday. Today she went again and they asked her to write an explanation as to why she's transferred the money to my German account. In addition the bank representative asked why my (recipient's) name is so strange. Well, it is a normal German name - I find it peculiar the bank employee would even comment on the recipient's name.
As my mother cannot write/speak Lithuanian, she had no choice but to go home (again!!!) and ask someone to help her write an explanation as to why she dared to send 500€ to her daughter. In the meantime she has no access to her funds nor can she activate her new debit card.
Having lived for the past 35 years abroad I can tell you this much: no citizen in a Western country would tolerate this type of discriminating behavior from a bank. We will be looking for another institution to fulfill our banking needs.

Maxed my monthly transfer limit…

Maxed my monthly transfer limit transferring some money to my investments account. Therefore I needed to increase the limit. One week later they still have not been able to do so. They wrote me a message saying if it’s urgent go to their branch so I went there but they refused to fix it. Over the phone aswell they told me to go to their branch however no luck. I am basically with no access to my funds due to incompetence and none existing costumer service. If you want your money kept safe then don’t use Swedbank unless your goal is to keep the money safe from yourself.

Avoid this Bank

Once you are coming to the point of the closing the account you meet a lot of problems. I do not live in Lithuania for 20 years. Therefore the permission to close my Bank Account was given to another person by letter confirmed and stamped by authorities in the Embassy of the country I live. Unfortunately this Bank needs something more and information was not provided on phone call. They do not know!! Please avoid this Bank!!!
