Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that you were looking to purchase a WiFi dongle and weren’t able to do so. We understand how important it is to have a wireless setup, and we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

At the moment, the WiFi dongle isn’t available in the UK. This is mainly because many UK homes have thicker walls or concrete construction, which can significantly reduce wireless signal strength and lead to an unstable connection. To ensure the best possible performance and reliability, we’re unable to offer the dongle in that region.

As an alternative, we recommend using a WiFi range extender that has a LAN (Ethernet) port. You can connect your system to the extender using an Ethernet cable and then have the extender wirelessly to your main router or modem. This setup can provide a more stable and reliable connection while still offering flexibility in placement.

If you’d like assistance choosing a compatible extender or setting it up, please feel free to reach out to us. We’re always happy to help.

Have customer service sales…

Have customer service sales support available by phone instead of just online when trying to make a purchase of a product. I've been waiting since 9/10/2025 for a replacement DVR8-4580v or updated equivalent. Very frustrating D Carroll

Additionally, we’d like to clarify that Swann recorders are only available as part of a complete security system kit. We do not sell DVRs or NVRs separately, as our systems are designed as fully integrated solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability. Selling recorders individually can lead to compatibility issues with different camera series, third-party devices, unsupported configurations, or mixed technologies (such as analog and IP), which may impact system performance.

Don’t answer the phone, don’t respond to emails

Swann doesn't answer the phone (during regular business hours) and takes a very long time to respond to emails.
Request for an RMA has had no response in at least five days, making it almost impossible to return a product within the 30 day window.
My device will not communicate or TCP port 9000 so it is useless for monitoring video and tech-support is extremely slow to respond to requests for help.
I finally was contacted by support, and we exchanged emails over several days until finally they offered to call me and requested dates/times for a phone call. After 24 hours of waiting for them to call, they still have not called.
Previously I was very pleased with their products and support (been using their products for 5+ years), but I am not pleased with the issues encountered with this current purchase/product (SWDVK-846804WL).

I recently purchased a new Swann POE…

I recently purchased a new Swann POE security camera from eBay provider to replace a failed camera in my 16 camera Swann PVR. From the outset the camera did not connect. I contacted Swann Service and the agent patiently and helpfully guided me through a batch of tests and processes in order to identify the problem. Eventually, it was clear that the camera was faulty. The agent advised me that Swann no longer supported individual cameras in multi-camera systems because some were found to be incompatible with such systems. This was disappointing as that suggests my system cannot be maintained with replacement cameras. I eventually called back and another agent advised that the problem was most likely related to powering the camera. I returned the camera to the eBay retailer who verified the problem and replaced the camera. The replacement immediately worked perfectly. The Swann response or advised non-replacement policy is unacceptable for a new camera which is recorded as being compatible with my system. The Swann people were great but let down by an inappropriate policy. I was impressed by the service provided by the eBay reseller.

Over all good

I have the solar powered cameras and they have been great. No issues. Just the ring camera is quirky. I find myself having to reboot the ring camera at least twice a day to keep it working otherwise it loses connection. Fair to say though I have not contacted the company on it. I would have to look into it some more or live with it as is.

All recordings from earlier in the day are! Hard to access to review. Can not pull up Live! View! When needed. Almost a complete waste of money and time and effort to install . Wish now had not purchased both.

The playback on the camera system…

The playback on the camera system consistently does not work. I trouble shoot and nothing. You can't get customer service to help. Next time I will go with a company with a high customer service score.

Due to this review, the company reached out. I still need to contact them but the reliability is still a concern. Trouble shooting every two weeks is ridiculous. I plan on reaching out tomorrow.

swann equipment is crap

swann equipment is crap. cameras stop transmitting for no apparent reason and service support like to tie you up in never ending fault finding exercises that go absolutely nowhere. If you know whats good for you, before you spend large coin because you think you are getting a superior product because youre spending more, consider ALL of the other alternatives, because Swann leaves a lot to be desired, and failure of equipment when outlaying hundreds of dollars on cameras and nvr, leaves a very bitter taste. Swann, Swoon, VOMIT!

Well built and packaged

Well built and packaged; easy to install. External power cords do not fit without removing grommet but the cord for your solar panel fits perfectly. I plan to order another camera and solar panel to have six cameras altogether.

Suggest to increase hole size in the base of the camera’s to allow larger screw size
Small provided screw might not accommodate the required support screw
Larger screw head provides a problem with the unit base to secure the camera position

I have had it up for about 2 weeks now

I have had it up for about 2 weeks now. Easy set up quality of video is very good. I have a solar panel on 2 of the 6 cameras keeps charge on cameras around 100%.the other cameras stay charged around 75%. The cameras have been holding up in the high wind and snow so far . I highly recommend them so far.
