Absolutely disgusting company

Absolutely disgusting company. I bought good house keeping for 3 months on an offer. They’ve just taken £75 out of my bank. No one answers the phone. Dreadful definitely do not recommend them

Grifters

Grifters, they make it very hard to unsubscribe. The only way to do it is to call.

they ignore when you cancel

I already cancelled by sending a form through their website six months ago.

Yet they have just charged me nearly £30 with no warning.

Impossible to find my subscription, when I log into the website the data is not even accurate.

Total scam, do NOT subscribe because they do not take your cancellation instructions.

I will now have to dispute this through my bank which is another hassle I don't need.

Do not let them get away with taking…

Do not let them get away with taking your money. Ring 01858438838 to cancel well in advance of when last issue is due. Check your bank account near the end date of subscription. It is essential to inform them that it is illegal for them to renew without your permission. Email a complaint to hearst. My account was credited on the same day.

Just awful

Just awful! Renewed by subscription early without any prior warning! No reminder email that the renewal date was approaching. Just took the increased subscription cost money from my account!

When I rang customer service to request to cancel and ask for a refund they refused to give me back my money. Avoid this company! Just terrible customer service.

I asked them how I cancel a subscription, no reply. I contacted them again, this time they cancelled it before my issues finished and gave me an incorrect email to contact them. It was meant to be for countryliving, but when I clicked the link it was for running magazine! Really poor company and communication.
I wouldn’t recommend. Their offers are too good to be true.

The worst

The worst. #1} Auto-renewal as the default setting For joining any business or publication should absolutely be illegal and I hope that American consumers one day rally for that.

#2) All businesses should make it very clear and easy to contact them and actually be available for that contact. Hopefully, one day, American consumers will demand this as well.

#3) At some point, it would also be great to get more credit card information about businesses that are billing. I have no idea why Hearst is trying to charge me $40 a month.

Hearst Is a huge company it should not be acceptable for my credit card to simply show I’m being billed by ‘Hearst.’

So much time is wasted every day by people simply trying to get simple answers from corporations lacking basic standards of transparency, accessibility and accountability.

I echo what everyone is saying about…

I echo what everyone is saying about this company! Customer services spin a cock & bull story about pre printed labels and not being able to cancel. They can’t count the months of the year…. I stood my ground but still no joy. The ONLY way is to cancel your debit card and that way they will not be able to automatically renew.

Another one star for hearst

Another one star for hearst. My wife somehow did not cancel her subscription. When I called asking to cancel and get reimbursed for the 11 Plus months she will never use they said no. Good companies give the opportunity not to have automatic renewals, but NOT HEARST. Bottom line another old couple stuck for a year with Hearst. Not a good company, stay clear of them

In my opinion, an immoral and disgraceful way to run a business.

Same as others' experiences. I am going to contact my bank to deal with them, as it is hopeless trying to resolve subscription problems with Hearst themselves. I have received several email replies, each time from someone different, no mention of apologising for taking the money without consent, or for not supplying confirmation in doing so. I cannot get a response from a manager, despite asking numerous times for contact with one. I took a screen shot of my account online and one gift subscription wasn't even on there. I said how was I to know to cancel a gift subscription if it wasn't visible on my account?! No apology for that either. Unbelievable company. In my opinion, a disgraceful and immoral way to do business. And Hearst, if you read this, please do not give a glib public apology and that "information will be passed on to relevant teams" etc., as I have already had that line in my last email. Just change your practices. You never used to do business this way.

Very disappointing

I cancelled, they ageed but then they auto renewed anyway. I asked for a refund and they agreed, despite several further reminders still no result. Difficult to believe this is due to incompetence, so I'm forced to conclude they are being dishonest.

Do not use!

I wish I had read the other reviews, I have contacted Hearst magazines several times to cancel my subscription, they respond by saying please confirm you want to cancel, then ignore your confirmation and they have now auto renewed. I will have to contact my credit card. Please be aware.
