Miserable experience with Studio Prestige

Paris civil unrest made us not stay in the apartment. Area was very troubling and we could smell smoke all around.

The manager was supposed to meet us to give us the key. He did not. Instead we were let in by cleaning people. When we reached out to the manager and complained about no heads up to the situation, he said he wasn’t the manager of Paris and we should just stay inside.

We soon left the apartment. We didn’t spend one night there. When i asked for a refund,I was told no.

Worst vacation! We had to scramble to find some where safer to sleep and instead of staying a full week we left early.

Same day Cancellation Catastrophe

Unfortunately, I can´t recommend Studio Prestige, Check My Guest nor Belvilla! Despite having a written confirmation that was 6 days old, they cancelled my booking upon the day of my arrival in Paris! No one took ownership nor accountability in trying to resolve this dire situation! All I was told was that the property was canceled and that I would be refunded, however I only received a written cancellation after pressing for it. No customer focus, no adherence to T&Cs! I have never experienced such a disastrous customer experience in my life! There was a point where the situation felt very dodgy to say the least. After hours of waiting and discussion we received a cancellation and were able to find an alternative accommodation but it took patience, energy and too many calls. All three service providers should not be on any large travel platforms as long as their internal and external process/systems do not work since it looks like I am not the only one who has made the same bad experienced!

I would like to warn you against…

I would like to warn you against booking this accommodation, the landlord provides incorrect information such as "terrace with city view” (now removed from description) and does not stick to the truth. I call this a scam. Studio Prestige, which rents out the apartment, has very low credibility.
It is a converted business premises on the ground floor and all the light is from previous shop windows and doors, frosted with film and could not be opened, very unpleasant claustrophobic feeling! No view at all.
It rained a lot from the broken frosted ceiling in the dining room/kitchen, large puddles formed, one of us slipped but managed well, which was just lucky! We had to put our towels down to soak up the water, slippery!
The so-called Terrace is a patio at the bottom of a courtyard, with tall houses around so everyone can look down on it and the sun never reaches down. All the cushions on the patio were already soaked when we arrived so they were dripping, we could not sit outside at all, and it also smelled from all the water that had formed under the terrace.
The door to the street is an old charming gate but with no soundproofing at all so all the street noise can be heard very clearly.
The list of faults could be longer, but previous reviews mention other things that were still not fixed when we arrived.
Cannot recommend this accommodation at all, even though it is located in the most charming part of the Marais.
One would also wish that Booking, as a major player, provided more support and help when an accommodation does not deliver what they promised, which was not the case at all, super disappointed with both players!

Belvilla/Studio Prestige - poor experience

Of the importance of doing your homework on companies you rent from...

Rented a flat at 58 rue Greneta in Paris for 3 nights with Studio Prestige via Booking.com. Studio Prestige is a brand by Swiss holiday property rental company Belvilla. Belvilla and Studio Prestige both already have bad reviews online.

Property was a converted storage unit, accessed through a metal door from an inner courtyard, single tiny window without a lock. The place looked tired to the point of exhaustion with parts of the faux wooden floor scraped off.
The place hasn't seen a dedicated clean in ages, with fluff and dirt and crumbs hiding in all nooks and crannies and under the sofas and bed; and even a superficial clean is apparently not customary: the floor was still dusty to the touch and covered in long black hair that would get caught in your socks. There was a hair comically stuck to the wall above the bathroom door, visible in the mirror but somehow missed twice by the cleaning team (as we demanded a re-clean).
The sofa bed was crooked and ancient, lumpy and bumpy, squeaky and wobbly. And still a better option than the bed, as the bedroom featured a shower continuously exuding rank sewage smells.
The wastewater odours also emanated from the drain in the bathroom, of course, but at least we could shut that door...

Too bad, as the location was excellent: rue Greneta is in the mainly pedestrian, charming and lively neighbourhood behind les Halles, right off rue Montorgueil. But the flat itself almost entirely ruined the experience.

Belvilla doesn't seem to have this specific flat listed on their own website, which makes me think that they deemed it of too low a standard even for their 1.7-star performance on TrustPilot... This is a typical bad faith company churning properties at a premium, letting them slowly degrade until the flats just give up and die.

Avoid.
