Alas, it is another experience to put in my rear view mirror with regret...

I thought this would be a great online lender based on positive reviews. Instead I must warn other small businesses from considering this option. It sounds good, but the actual experience is exactly what other low rated reviews have been confirming... you will pay high upfront fees. Incredibly high interest rate. And no loyalty from the lender for performance and track record. I wanted to like this company, I really did, but alas it is another experience to put in my rear view mirror with regret. Go elsewhere for your lending needs. Do not allow this business to take advantage of your growing business and rope you in with false words.

StreetShares, Inc. Is An Excellent Company!

I am a small business owner, and these are challenging times--for business owners and everyone! So, it is incredible to have a company like StreetShares in your corner!
I cannot recommend this lending company more highly, they are caring, honest, and customer-focused! Thank you, StreetShares, Inc.!

RUN, Run Fast, There are 10 better options, Don’t waste time with Streetshares

I definitely hate that we have to give Streetshares a one star because this company needs to be rated in the negative digits. Make no mistake, these conmen will try to blame CV19 for their screwups or they will make up bogus lies. When this scam company dropped us out of the blue, 4 of their competitors locked us in with double the capital and nearly have the fee and interest rates. We have excellent credit, We have a strong company and lucky for us we were able to get away from these loan sharks and deal with honest finance companies.

Please look elsewhere because there are more than ten companies with much better options than StreetShares.

If you are currently a client and they offer you a new representative DO NOT deal with Joel Harris. This rep is an idiot that tries to make you enjoy sarcasm. He works at a snails pace and could not hold a job at our company. You don’t want a guy like this handling any finance for your business.

I used this company

I used this company. Their product may not be for every business owner but I truly believe in their desire to help veterans that are serious about starting successful businesses. I am sorry to see that some had bad experiences, but I am among the majority that had a great experience working with StreetShares.

Horrible company

Horrible company. I got approved for a business line of credit last year and 9 months later they say I can't draw on it. Even though I have a balance and THEY keep taking my payments. ***What did I get approved for then???

Lame a** customer service too. The rep on the phone was talking over me and very loudly. Like she didn't even care what I was saying. If I was her manage and heard that- she would be fired for talking to customers that way.

For a finance company

For a finance company, StreetShares showed a real lack of customer service and communication. I don't mind if we're not the right fit for there funding program but to say it with out really understanding our business model and making a decision with out all the right information, is just poor and lazy work on their part. wont recommend or use them again.

Second loan and counting.

I just completed my second loan with StreetShares and it could not have been easier. I was approved in a few hours and the terms are really competitive. I looked at a loan with a company associated with Intuit last year and was approved, but the interest rate quoted me was 33%!! "But no fees!" they said. Yikes.
I'm looking forward to a long relationship with StreetShares as we grow our business.

Another Investor Review

We sat down with Mel Levey in Sep 2018 and after that meeting decided to invest in StreetShares for two reasons: 1) It is way of giving back to others that have made the sacrifice and 2) in today's climate, it is a reasonable return. We have talked with Mel and one of the founders, Mark and have been so impressed with their business acumen that we have further invested and sleep well at night knowing that this team rocks!!

Helps Veterans? Not this one.

This company alleges they help veterans. Not this one. My company has some debt issues that was hoping Streetshares could help solve. Apparently not so much with these guys. After submitting everything they asked for, they declined our company with one reason only and I quote "Your business cashflows do not support additional debt." Obviously. We aren't looking for additional capital or debt. We were looking to refinance our existing MCA's to free up cash flow. They were not willing to help this veteran owned and operated business with $1.2 million is annual revenue. But according to their site, there is no impact on credit. Yet in fact, that's precisely what their denial letter said was the source of their decision! Then they contradicted themselves in the very reason for denial below. They said it played no part in their decision, yet in next paragraph, said it was. This was what they put in their denial letter:

The consumer reporting agency or agencies contacted that provided information that influenced our decision in
whole or in part was:
Equifax Information Services
LLC PO Box 740241
Atlanta, Georgia,
30374-0241
1-800-685-1111

The reporting agency played no part in our decision and is unable to supply specific reasons why we have denied credit to you. You have a right under the Fair Credit Reporting Act to know the information contained in your credit file at the consumer reporting agency. You also have a right to a free copy of your report from the relevant reporting agency, if you request it no later than 60 days after you receive this notice. In addition, if you find that any information contained in the report you receive is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to dispute the matter with the reporting agency. Any questions regarding such information should be directed to the reporting agency listed above.

We also obtained your credit score from this same consumer reporting agency and used it in making our credit decision. Your credit score is a number that reflects the information in your credit report. Your credit score can change, depending on how the information in your credit report changes.

Well, guess they let this veteran down. Not even a suggestion or referral. Fellow Veterans, don't pin your hopes on this "Veteran Owned" company to help you out of a jam. What a joke. I'll pass it on to the fellow vets in my area as I'm next to Fort Stewart. Pass on Streetshares. Look elsewhere.

StreetShares states that there is no impact on your credit when applying for a loan and that is correct because the information we get is considered a soft-pull by Equifax and does not impact a borrower's credit score. The information obtained on a case by case basis may be used in a decision to approve a loan. Please feel free to contact Equifax Credit Bureau and confirm that our credit pull was a soft pull and did not impact your credit score in any way. To discuss the specifics of your loan application you may contact us at mo@streetshares.com.

The whole experience with Street Shares…Horrific Experience

The whole experience with Street Shares has been dismal. The sense of urgency and communication was extremely lacking. After getting an approval then the whole process fell apart. False promises and the whole platform is flawed and the company seems to only draw/attract business owners/clients by touting veteran owned. Deeply disappointing process and we are only writing this review after multiple failed attempts to escalate to management our concerns. We are still waiting to hear back from the principal partner/owner/GM without success. Potential borrowers beware of this company and try other options and get other quotes there is plenty of competitors that will take care of businesses with a solid history like ours and others.

Veteran Owned Toy Company - Qubits Toy, Inc.

Our family is the proud owner of a construction toy company that is gaining in importance every year. As a USAF veteran, I found out about Street Shares via the internet. They allowed me to secure a business loan when the banks for the most ignored my requests. Now several years later I have an increased credit line that allows us to fund our production cycles of plastic toy parts. All 100% Made in the USA. Thank you Street Shares!

An Investor-only Review

This is a review of StreetShares only as an investor (me), not a borrower.

I have had money invested with StreetShares now for almost a year. The 5% return on their 3-year notes is hard to beat. Plus, starting around May/June 2019 you can now reinvest your interest in new bonds (to capture the compounding effect of the interest). Just keep in mind that your accumulated interest must be at least $25 in order to reinvest, since new bond/note purchases have a $25 minimum. Depending on how much principal you have in your account, it may take a longer or shorter time for your interest to hit the $25 reinvestment threshold.

StreetShares has been a WONDERFUL investment vehicle for diversifying our portfolio with a healthy interest rate, which is about as good as bonds get but without the interest rate risk. I am using my account for (among other things) building up my daughters' college fund by supplementing their 529 plans.

If you will need your money on a timescale of five years or less, the stability of the current 5% return is a fantastic option to have. We even opened a second StreetShares account in my wife's name so that we have two time periods of the year when we can withdraw funds without the 1% fee which is levied on money drawn outside of the two-week anniversary grace period given to each account.

Mel in Investor Relations is very responsive and attentive in handling any questions or issues I have. Thanks all around to the StreetShares team!

I shopped around for several weeks…

I shopped around for several weeks before deciding to use Street Shares for a Line of Credit that my firm needed for hiring more team members. My experience has been nothing short of stellar. They have been quick to respond, we got approved and had our money in 2 days. It was a painless process and I highly recommend them!

Respect

The respect StreetShares shows to veterans is greatly appreciated. StreetShares is the best firm I have worked with relative to obtaining and servicing a business line of credit. The staff is knowledgeable, capable and friendly. Borrowing money is never a pleasant endeavor but the StreetShares process is seamless, prompt and fair.
