What a sham! EBay’s Camera technology uploaded the tracking number incorrectly so the item can’t show delivered. Buyer confirmed receipt and left a good review. EBay confirmed can see correct tracking... See more

Ripped off
Ripped off. I would give them no star if I could. I purchased one item for $176.72. Ebay took the money out of my account twice. I never received the item or refunded the amount of $353.44. So disappointed in Ebay, I will never purchase anything from Ebay ever again.
The fees are getting ridiculous
The fees are getting ridiculous! Paypal is also terrible!!!
Heartless money driven scumbags
Absolutely horrible experience. Sold the same item via auction multiple times as the buyers did not pay once winning the bid. Decided to list the same item as "Buy It Now" and accepted an offer for much less than I had hoped for. Once I sold the item, eBay slogged me a MASSIVE fee which left me way out of pocket. I was absolutely shocked that a service such as eBay can charge these sort of fees. Absolutely disgraceful.
I hunted everywhere to try and find a customer service email address and finally managed to contact eBay. The response I received was absolutely careless. The fees are hidden when selling an item and then eBay will slog you and get away with it. They are heartless, money driven thieves without a care in the world for their users.
I have spent over $100,000 on eBay over the years as a buyer and I will most likely never buy from eBay again if I can avoid it. eBay is a joke with many scam sellers and buyers, but they won't help or take any responsibility. AVOID IF YOU CAN!! Especially as a seller!
Good but sometimes expensive
Ebay is a good website to use when you are looking for products; they have a diverse range of products and you are likely to find what you're looking for albeit sometimes really expensive. With my past orders I've never had much trouble with ordering and shipping so Ebay is one of my go-to sites if I can't get the product. However, be mindful of the sometimes ridiculously expensive items (particularly from the make up sections) that would cost less on other websites. Ebay gives you all the information that you need on the product page (shipping cost, item cost, seller page link, estimate arrival date, description etc) so it was one advantage of using their website.
Edit: Ebay has no hidden fees at all and they give you an approximate total amount to pay on the same page as the item, which I thought was really helpful. However, in terms of cosmetics products, Ebay would definitely be my last resort. The sellers on Ebay sometimes do definitely inflate the prices of some make up items making it almost unaffordable. There is a private messaging system, tracking system but unlike Poshmark, Depop or Carousell, offers are only given when the seller allows offers.
Wow this is unbelievable the negative…
Wow this is unbelievable the negative feedback wish I had knowed about the poor reviews I am in your boat people negative thieves don't want to know when something goes wrong
Try not to buy anything from eBay
Try not to buy anything from eBay, there policy are worded that you don't have a chance of getting help or refund. My issue was an item which they dragged over 3 months to the point eBay offer a $5 discount to compensate, but when you chase up your purchases, the seller don't want to know about you and say your item number doesn't exist and you try to contact eBay and you get an instant NO. No help, no assistance, no everything. Appeal the decision and it's still a no. It's rubbish spending money on eBay, it's happened twice now so no more, I'm cancelling the account and warning others now.
Im a buyer since 2006 and more active…
Im a buyer since 2006 and more active in the past 4 years. At the begging eBay was good but nowadays its not worth the time anymore.
Its full of junk products and the only think eBay cares is fees and profit. Consumer is no longer a priority and sellers with 2000 items in their store are not even Australian but you can see the Australian flags and many times the phrase local or Australian local on their product to deceive the consumer.
You purchase an item on Saturday night and few minutes later you already have your track number. How good or terrible is that ? After couple of days no updates then you decided to call Australian post and you find out they have not even received the item.
Such a delusion approach from sellers to pretend that you will receive your item very quick but in fact you won't. This is all BS but is this to have high KPI to have a product listed first ? eBay won't act on consumer side as a track number has been provided but is it fair to lie about shipment time frames and post item when no one even confirm stock? anyway after a week no updates and you call again Australian Post to confirm again the same thing not even received the parcel .. it cannot be processed in the aupost facilities so no further updates. Couple of day overdue the delivery and you contact the seller which replies " Friend please wait because of Covid-19 your parcel will be delayed. " you contact again auspost and they cannot confirm that none of its facility closed due to covid recently. You contact the seller and still cannot have any action from eBay at this stage. Case has been open and who cares about you consumer ? the seller drag this on and on and eBay gives enough space to the seller do whatever without do anything. I'm still waiting for a replacement motherboard for over 3 months and eBay has done nothing.
eBay's seller that uses funny names followed by numbers with hundreads of items are no legit Australian sellers. They are chineses off loading a load of low quality products that doesn't meet Australian Standards and those goods are overpriced.
If you have experienced this type of issue you can agree that its cheaper to buy from Alibaba than eBay as at least you know from who you are buying (chinese seller) and always remember its not possible to have the cheapest with high quality.
I'm leaving eBay due to the fact that eBay cannot be trusted to act in the best interest of the consumers but only on its own interest to make money above all.
SHAME ON YOU EBAY.
Disgusted
Especially agree that eBay sells counterfeit goods !...and when I have phoned and told Customer Service about items that are for sale that are obviously fake I have given them the reasons to look in the photos to see, I've been assured that they will look into it and a week later the item is sold in auction... However as a seller they are also a nightmare, every single customer service agent tells a different story... I've just been charged 20% on a sale of a bag which I was told was because I had "below average seller performance"when I had questioned that 2 weeks before... Was told not to worry that I was now "above average seller performance" and there would be no penalty... So I listed and sold my bag (usually charged 14% for luxury item sale but this time I was charged 20% as a penalty). .. And I called Customer Service after being put through to 4 different people I was finally told nothing they could do about it and sales would go back to normal in three weeks time but I would not be refunded.... I have ended all my listings with this criminal organisation and the bunch of incompetents that work for them
Wish I had of read these reviews years…
Wish I had of read these reviews years ago. Like everyone else, totally screwed over by a non-existent claims department. Bought an ice machine in October, arrived late November, claims window closed December, ice machine breaks down January.
No response from seller, nothing but a run around from ebay and not a care from anyone. Will never buy from ebay again. Disgraceful. Pretty sure the best course of action from here is to make a complaint to the ACCC.
Ebay Au just protecting bad sellers
Ebay Au just interested in protecting their 'partner sellers' to keep fees rolling in. No duty of care when a buyer gets blatantly lied to after a clever seller bumps things beyond 30 days.... Their resolution team simply doesn't exist !!! Seller trading under "direct-trade-to-you" is perfect example !
If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would
These people let you set up and account and go to the trouble of listing all your items and then restrict it so you can’t sell. Then they charge you all these fees to try and just use your account. Such a con. Use Facebook market place it’s so much easier

Paid $719.00 new solar stuff happy with purchasing. However decided to transfer money for food shopping and what happened poof into eBay what the.. yeah a duplicate hold even though all paid for.. agent no 1 couldn’t help me, Agent 2, 2 days later acknowledged the mistake but couldn’t fix my card..the effect has rendered my primary card useless. No compensation for this major disruption!!
Unacceptable practices beware buyers…don’t use a visa!
Still this should have never happened in these technologies right!
Will shop elsewhere due to the lack of understanding by EBAY.
After buying items and only receiving…
After buying items and only receiving part of this seller had negative feedback removed. At which I contacted eBay AND given written guarantee feedback WAS valid and should not have been removed at I asked for them to reinstate it which they could not BUT allowed me to leave feedback on other with their guarantee it WOULD NOT be removed. But true to their word it was SO, so much for their:
"QUOTE" Keeping our members safe is a top priority for us, so we have zero tolerance for fraud on eBay. If you spot something suspicious, let us know.
Seller IS still trading with FULL 100% feedback even though they fraudulently ripped me off.
I believe eBay MUST contact the person whom has left feedback PRIOR to just removing such that can not be reinstated. OR READ FULL CASE DETAILS use your heads before leaving others at risk from these sellers!
Absolutely atrocious, zero stars
I’ve tried to sell 2 items on eBay recently.
The first had bids withdrawn so the sale didn’t go through. The second item was a pick up item with cash on pick up. The buyer didn’t contact me whatsoever and has just waisted my time. eBay is nothing but trouble, a lot more trouble than it’s worth. Considering most people either stuff you around or are just scavengers expecting everything for nothing.
The bad part is eBay let these ppl remain on the site and you can’t even block ppl from buying from you unless they have more than 2 unpaid items in the past 12 months.
This is a mongrel company that I’m surprised still exists.
There’s no point complaining because customer service just lies to you. They say they will look into the matter but nothing ever happens.
I’m done with eBay they can get stuffed! Mongrels!
eBay Plus is not fit for purpose, refund refused, poor service
eBay Plus is not fit for purpose and eBay refuse to refund payment, breaking Australian Consumer Law.
After spending $49 on eBay Plus I purchase some "eBay Plus" items with "FREE Express Delivery".
I actually paid more for the item since I needed urgently and the other supplier was going to take 5 days via regular post.
The sender then posts the item REGULAR post and it takes over a week to arrive. I paid more for express but it was slower than my other supplier.
Ebay refuse to do anything about it. My only remedy is to send the item back and get a refund, further delaying procurement.
eBay states I can leave negative feedback, but AGAIN MY NEGATIVE FEEDBACK HAS BEEN REMOVED.
I only leave negative feedback when the purposely tries to scam me, or seller refuses to admit or correct a mistake but now EIGHT OUT OF TEN OF UNFAVOURABLE REVIEWS I HAVE GIVEN OVER LAST 2 YEARS WERE REMOVED SOON AFTER POSTING.
I have bought THOUSANDS of items (over 1,000 just in last 3 years) and spent over $100,000 on eBay over 15 years.
Along with several other issues with eBay letting sellers rip me off and now outsourced EXTREMELY POOR CHAT SERVICE, I boycotted eBay for 30 days and now buy most of my items elsewhere.
I've baught over 700 items on ebay
I've baught over 700 items on ebay, atheist 25 in last 6mnths all from same bank account linked to eBay. I just sold an item on ebay on the 23rd Nov 2021 the payment was to go to same account but ebay are holding my payment until they have prof buyer has recieved there item. I'm being treated like a con man.
Atrocious Company
Very poor customer service, very hard to rectify any issues. Allows sellers to sell fraudulent , counterfeit goods. Sellers are able to openly rip people off with no repercussions. Buyers are given the run around with no after sales support. DO NOT USE EBAY!!!!
If I could I would give 0/5
If I could I would give 0/5. Appauling customer service. My parcel did not arrive. The courier company who was meant to deliver my parcel could not be contacted, the seller did not care my parcel never arrived and Ebay who has a " money back guarantee" did not honour this and did not refund. There was no proof of delivery.i will never buy from Ebay again... instead Catch and Amazon will get my business.
Purchased a mp3 stereo for my BT50 from…
Purchased a mp3 stereo for my BT50 from Oz pro, the item was not as described when I received the item I new that it was the wrong item for my car, notified oz pro of the issue and it took around 24hrs to get a response from Wendy. Wendy stated to send the item back to a different address that the item was sent from ( which sparked alarm bells) so I took there advice and sent it back to the address Wendy responded with. Australia post advised us that because of delays resulting from covid it would be delivered late to the seller, the seller received the item and signed for it and still to this day has failed to refund my $533 back to me, I put in a complaint to ebay and PayPal but both are stating I have no case, well guess what my solicitor thinks differently so I'll be in touch with Wendy ebay and PayPal very soon, so for everyone out there please be careful on purchasing items through ebay as I hold ebay fully responsible for the outcome of my case.
It's concerning and deeply troubling…
It's concerning and deeply troubling from first-hand experience, forums and review sites that eBay overcharge sellers fees, specifically Final Value (FV) and Ad fees after these issues surfaced on numerous occasions. Concisely, Ad Fees are doubled up (at least) - Goodluck reconciling if you sell the same item multiple times as eBay do not provide an order number on your Ad fee transactions history. Additionally, FV Fees are charged above the standard eBay promoted rates. eBay bases its seller fees on a metric system but the issue here is eBay cooks the metrics to look like your 'Below 'Standard' so eBay can charge you higher FV fees. Numerous sellers have raised eBay fee overcharging concerns on this platform along with other review sites but interestingly there's still no change, eBay appears to remain continuing to overcharge sellers. Interestingly enough, eBay is not regulated in Australia, therefore sellers must take legal action including forming a group representation for class action in taking the fee overcharging matters to small claims court after eBay consistently refutes the 'system generated' over charged fees. EBAY - STOP RIPPING OFF SELLERS THEN DENYING IT INSTEAD OF REFUNDING OR BETTER YET, CEASING THIS WELL KNOWN SELLER FEE RIPOFF DOGGY PRACTICE!!!
