this experience with storage for life was abesolutly terrible and i would nbot wish it upon anyone... they totally took advantage of someone in a terrible spot.. i got someone to tell me tat they were a company that would help in a emercency so i gave them a shot.. i had my community support to help with emergancy funds.. but when they company found out the help that ia was receiving .. they took me through a terrible time.. they gave me the contract the\at i signed stating that i was receiving a month on a discount and then the following month free. and then i started receiving emails stating a outstanding balalnce of a outrages amount.. and they made invoices from the time tha ti moved my stuff in andn the emails and calls got to be very out of line .. and the messages i was receiving was toatl harassment. i finally got the help of the community to call them and deal with them .,,, they ended up going after me for a outragagous amount after i had only been there for the 2 months wich i owed next to nothing and was paided up and then i got messages saying they were locking me out and that my stuff would be going up fpor auction if the amount was not taken care of.. once the crazy amount was taken care of. they gtried stilll to telll me that they would take me for more if i hadnt come and taken my stuff out . and in which i had all my stuff out. i had left the lock because they had locked me out so i couldnt get it... so then i started getting threating emails of getting charged again for some other outragous amount because the lock had been left behind..and it didnt seem to matter when i called i would always get this lady named penny.. i beleive that she was the only person that was in charged of the place and i can tell you she was the most un considerate ans very rude lady and i could never talk to any one else.. and i could never get a hold of any one for the emails either.. i even had a worker that has been there for me to help try to deal with this lady.and she heard hhow this lady talked to me and how she was very unprofessional about how my lady friend was only trying to help deal with taking care of these outrages funds.. she was very un professional with every thing.. so to end this review i wpould tell you to stay away from this company.. they will do everything in there power to take you through some of there loops and take you for more funds that are not realistic.. and do what ever you can to stay away from the penny lady that works there.. she comes across kimda friemdly when getting you to sign so bs contract that they end up changing..

I have had storage units in the past that had more rules than i had things to store, even catches on when you could give notice to move out. I have had my storage for quite some time. Two different owners have come and gone. The storage for life people seem to be very easy to deal with. they have simplified many things involving paying for your storage and with moving out when you are done. I'm happy with the company and the people in the Kamloops office have been very friendly and helpful.

Nice clean facility for storing all of my stuf with great location and easy access.
Very pleasant and professional manager who is just phone call away ,was ready to assist and help me to save money.

Great staff and facility. I feel at ease knowing my belongs are safe.

Since the new owners have taken over, they have increased the monthly rent unnecessary and unreasonably. It is looting not business. We are renting 3 big unites 10x30’ for last 4-5 years but we are now completely fed up with this company.
And we are planning to move to some other storage company very soon. I so many times requested not to increase our rent every 6 months but they don’t care. I even refered many people from my friends and families who rented storages from them but still Storage For Your Life doesn’t care. I will advise my friends and families please stay away from Storage For Your Life.

Storage is pretty simple. Customer come and go and you collect money. The most annoying thing is getting an Email saying I am late with the payment when you take take it automatically every month. Very annoying. You could wait a day or two after a Holliday before sending the late notice. Please don’t blame the computer. You programmed it.

The facility is expensive and increases rates at least twice per year stating that they need increases to keep their rates in-line with their competitors. The service does not match the price, phone calls and messages are never answered or returned. The location however is convenient and therefore traps you.

This review is for the Quadra Street location in Victoria BC.
Overall this was a clean facility with very responsive staff and it was a pleasure doing business with them.

One issue, what wasn't clear to me when I rented was that I would be paying literally every 4 weeks, it is a really inconvenient way to pay as the date constantly moves forward in the month. I felt that this was designed for profit only, without the customer in mind, I would prefer to pay monthly because renting is monthly, it is a repeatable like a cell phone bill or rent, an expense every month so why not just make it easy to budget?

This means that every month I had to think about when the bill would be due. It was stressful. It meant that every month my budget changed because I had to hold some money back for that bill whenever it came, and that was stressful. Or if I forgot there was a strict fee for missing the payment on time. Also stressful. Finally there would have been a month where I paid twice. This is just such an undesirable system and I want it to change.

I have read the answer of this corporation and I find it inadequate because yes I could use their system to pay automatically but it does not address the extra, in essence money gouging, of having the payment come out every 4 weeks. Also I do not like to pay automatically because I like to be conscious of where my money is going. Why cannot this corporation be like every normal one and bill on a set day throughout the month. To me at least it is clear that this system is taking advantage of the lack of storage facilities available to get additional financial benefits above and beyond a fair return for storage services rendered.

I say this as the one thorn on an otherwise very good experience. Even the employees at Storage For Your Life think the payment system is unreasonable. You should listen to them and the customer. I also called the customer service line and left a message about this but didn't hear anything back, although I left my contact information.

The manager was very helpful, from when I first phoned for a storage unit and to when I moved my furniture back out, 2 and 1/2 months later. Thank you, ''Storage For Your Life"

Okay, but we are paying for heated storage and it isn't warm in there. What temp. do u call "heated" storage....

All the staff I have dealt with have been both friendly and helpful and after some initial confusion over which office to deal with for which location, SFYL Kamloops has met all my expectations. Thank you to them.

We have had our trailer there and it has been excellent service. It is awesome to know that it is under surveillance so if there were anything that happened they would be able to look at the camera and see what or who broke into it. Customer service has been awesome as well. We have never had any issues.

As a long time storage user, I find the constant fee increases discouraging. If it continues I will have to reconsider my storage options,

I have my things in storage with sentinel and trust our stuff is ok and in good hands.

The storage unit was great size and access was easy. However the roll up door was damaged an unusable for a really long time which made it difficult getting items in and out.

Customers service in Mission is beyond excellent.
