As a job seeker
As a job seeker, I had a disappointing experience with this company. The communication throughout the hiring process could have been better, leaving me often uncertain about my status or next steps.
What concerned me most were the tactics used during salary negotiations. The relative methods pressured candidates into accepting lower compensation than they might deserve. This approach left me feeling undervalued and uncomfortable.
Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this company to other job seekers. The lack of transparency and the negotiation tactics were particularly troubling. Potential applicants should be aware of these issues before engaging with this agency.

Just the best people who began to feel like friends during the process
I honestly can’t believe that StopGap don’t have more 5* reviews.
They’re unlike any recruiter I’ve gone through to get a job before. They’ve now placed me in two roles, and each time they’ve been thorough, helpful and the most friendly people you could ever wish to get a phone call from. I had so many laughs with Sarah and Claudine through the recruitment process and I feel that because they took the time to get to know me- professionally and a little personally (my character etc.) they were able to find a role which was a perfect fit for me.
They go out of their way to make sure both client and candidate are 100% happy and clear on every stage of the recruitment process, and it sets your mind at ease knowing you can trust them implicitly to be open and honest in every aspect.
For anyone hiring in marketing/comms, or anyone searching for a job, I would say absolutely just go for StopGap. They’re a brilliant company which makes the job-hunting slog and recruitment process a pleasure, rather than a stressful chore.
When it’s time to move on from the role they have just placed me in, I wouldn’t hesitate going back to them, and have to say I’ll quite miss the friendly chats!
