Beware with donations

Beware with donations. They charge an outrageous 6% service fee for using a credit card. Plus, the person answering the phone sounded like a third world automaton.

I stopped contributing to St Jude

A few days ago I received a letter from Jennifer Hart at St Jude Children's Hospital dated December 26, 2025. The letter started with "We didn't hear from you in 2025...".

Well it's good to know that my automatic monthly contributions of $50 are going completely unnoticed and obviously unappreciated. Needless to say, I stopped my contributions immediately after reading her letter because, while $600 per year is probably nothing to her, it's a lot for me since I'm a retiree.

Also, I noticed the signature at the bottom of the letter stated Jennifer Hart, Sr. Vice President. And a little further research shows that she's actually the Senior VP of Mass Marketing. WOW Jennifer! You really know how to make your contributors feel appreciated.

Make no mistakewhile the hospital…

Make no mistakewhile the hospital claims to do good work, they’re outright thieves. Two years ago, I canceled my monthly donation to support a charity that actually aligns with my values, yet they kept charging my card every single month without my permission. This isn’t a mistake—it’s theft

STOP SPAMMING

They spam constantly, spam with letters constantly asking for money, even though they are not underfunded.

Worse than debt collectors

I became a partner in hope and had to end my monthly donation due to financial reasons. While I admire the work St Jude does I have received calls as late as 8:40 pm badgering me for my monthly donation since I ended it. I also received so much physical mail from them requesting donations while already donating it was ridiculous. Seems a waste of money that could be used for research or for paitents.

The very best of the best

The very best of the best! Rarely do you encounter a place that is as good as it's PR suggests. How many places are the very best of their kind? One? St. Jude is it! Danny Thomas' vision was beyond actualized. This hospital has the most dedicated staff on the planet-from the cafe workers to the oncologists. They couldn't do better and neither could you if you are looking for a place for a child to be treated. It's every bit as good as it seems.
