Avoid this company at all costs

Avoid this company at all costs! We nearly purchased a property through them but thankfully pulled out just in time. They will say anything to push a sale. We also rented through them, and when it came time to move out, they took nearly our entire deposit unfairly. Save yourself the stress, money, and frustration—think twice before dealing with this company.

SCAMMERS!!

I disputed the amount they wanted from us for them to do their jobs when we left the property. We left the property in a good state and they tried charging up through the roof as well as taking our deposit.
I sent an email to dispute these charges and requested my deposit back. However, they did not respond to my email, resulting in us not getting the deposit back.

From reading the reviews they do this to everyone!!

Their pricing a for things are extortionate and the properties aren’t even worthy of the price you pay. HORRENDOUS!!

Great Service

I have 1 of 8 flats in a block that was managed by Moreland Estates, who are the biggest bunch of crooks going. Sterling took over around 18 months ago and they fixed the lift that had been out of order for almost 3 years for a few hundred pounds, we were quoted £50k by Morelands and cleaned the carpets that were a disgrace. It is early days but so far they have proved to be extremely good and competitively priced.

They only show rentals as an open…

They only show rentals as an open house, so 30 people show up and it is impossible to rent the house you wanted to look at because there are 30 other people that apply the same time you do. Its a hustle to take your $90 along with 30 other people so they can keep it and only rent the house to 1. It’s a scam to take your money. Property manager said they can only do showings to the public one time because the Agent has kids. Probably the wrong position for her.

Houses are as is. Company will not fix anything before you move in, not even paint.

Jason is horrible (won’t let me swear)

Jason is a horrible little man. Very rude man.
Company in general never communicates. When you call to ask for updates, they are very rude and can’t give you updates for weeks. We will not be using them again. Avoid if you can.
Being kind is free.

Rude, obnoxious and unlawful company

If I could give a minus star review I would. What a shambles of a company - just take a look at their other reviews and you’ll see for yourself. Horrid customer service particularly from this one woman, such a rude, patronising and arrogant individual. The agency failed to assist in any of the properties faults, illegally withheld money and failed to consistently comply with the law in regards to information/procedures they are required to share. Throughout my tenancy I had no idea where my deposit was kept, they stole money from my deposit because they decided I owed them rent despite paying every month until my contract expired. Horrible company with no idea on how the law works and disgustingly mannered staff. Avoid at all costs!

ONE STAR PROPERTIES ??

Although never been a tenant of Sterlings, was employed by them a couple of years ago and it appears that things still haven't changed for the better. 1 star properties maybe more apt having read most of the reviews. From my time there, definitely a sense of rent being the main driver, tenants not really looked after in terms of customer service. This obviously evidenced by poor tenant experiences being the norm. Advice : yes rent collections is important, but initiate a dedicated customer care team to get your tenants back onside. Trust me it works given time, then maybe, just maybe you can claim to be 5 star properties.

AVOID AVOID AVOID unless you're a drug…

AVOID AVOID AVOID unless you're a drug dealer of course. Rented an apartment for 1 Yr, numerous issues throughout the tenancy which sterling were extremely reluctant to fix and when they did so it was half a job. When I moved in I requested a deep clean before I moved in as it was in an unacceptable standard yet this was never carried out. On leaving the property I've had to wait 29 days before being told they want to make a deduction for cleaning costs despite me cleaning top to bottom before I left. When trying to complain about this delay was told there's nothing they can do yet are reluctant to even put in writing so I can dispute it with the deposit protection company. Absolute sham of a company will be reporting to Wigan Council. Though I'm sure all the drug dealers in the block had a great experience with them.

Very appalling

Very appalling, had my property with them for a year, been trying for 8months to get out of there due to the constant drug misuse, and for my safety due to an abusive ex partner, even having the army and the police involved they would not let me leave my tenancy early. They are making this personal by not allowing my sister to rent my flat and rejecting her application because of a complaint about her that has been proven it was noting to do with her, Rebecca Brindley the manager has a bad attitude and has to argue with me every time, they are a horrible business who does not care about the welfare or support of their tenants.
