SG is a site that:
1. can't take "constructive criticism"
2. is protecting BOTs, that take most of the gift games (even though it's against rules & policy)
3. deliberately protecting leeches which take 1.000+ games, against people who donate more games to SG
4. all in all, most of the moderators are "crap & shady"
So you're better of donating your games elsewhere, 'cause gifting them on SG is like throwing them in garbage!
Not to mention that freedom of speech on forum is identical as in North Korea! ;)

Great site with a nice community

It's a great place to dispose of your extra Steam keys and get a chance at winning new games as well. The community on the site is really helpful.

Most of the negative reviews are from salty people who got banned for breaking the rules, of from people who do not understand statistics and expected a constant flow of free games..

Best site to give away spare Steam keys

It's the best site to give away spare Steam keys, and you might even win some games while you're at it. Also a pretty fun, supportive community.

Worried about the 1-star reviews? Read them... then read the 5-star reviews... and then decide which seem more legitimate.

very bad website
AAA games goes to rigged winners ,probably admins/mods friends ,or to high level users to encorage them giving more and rigged theire wallet
admins/mods abuse users ,ban them for no reason ,they even use unknown profiles to insult users who made anything against this website ,there is no free expretion
this website made tons of money by make you visite hundreds of pages everyday ,make you believe you will win ,but they only take benifit from ads
if you have somthing to give ,use gleam
if you you need to join giveaways ,just save your time ,and search otherwise ,this website is totally rigged ;you can win small bundled games ,but never AAA games

Best place if you want to gift/win games, without pretenses.

Personally I consider it one of the best sites out there, if not the best, if you are looking for an efficient way of gifting/winning steam games.
Always keep in mind the reason why it exists. You give away steam keys for free, you get a little chance to win a steam game for free. That's it. If you feel entitled in any way, it's not the place for you.

The community is almost toxic-free and that's a big plus for me.
I particularly love the puzzle section of the forum.

Some may complain about the moderation on the forum and they may be right. It can surely improve when it comes down on how, based on personal sensitivity, they disparately punish discriminatory comments (sexist/racist/etc. comments).
I just say, the forum is optional, the basic purpose of the site cannot be damaged by that and that's the reason I still recommend it and still use it.

Simple yet effective system, but a good community.

To get straight to the facts, the site is not a scam, but rather a kind of user-driven raffle hub. Users create giveaways with a set deadline, and when the time expires a person is picked at random from all those who joined the giveaway. To enter a giveaway, you spend tokens that are automatically (and freely) regenerated in your account over time. There is an enforced 1-entry-only policy so that the chances of winning are fair regardless of your own gifting participation or the price/quality of the item you are entering for. The only thing that alters the odds is how many people enter. If only 100 people enter a giveaway, you have a flat 1-in-100 chance to win. If a thousand enter, it's 1-in-1000, and so forth. While the odds are low, it is entirely free, and if you make it a part of your usual daily browsing routine then your lucky number will come up eventually. Those calling 'scam' either have no patience, no appreciation for probability, or created giveaways in hopes of their 'contributor level' bestowing them with increased odds of winning (and as the FAQ and community often points out, it does not). Although when making a giveaway, you can limit it so that only people over a certain level can enter, this is typically used to protect more valuable games from automatic-entry bots. The odds are still severe either way, but it's still also free. In my case, I just like the idea that the spare bundle keys that none of my friends want can go to someone who actually wants it.

Most people join the site looking for free games, but it's nice to find that there is an active community of gaming enthusiasts and the forums are always equally active. Moderation is quite relaxed, allowing for arguments, disputes and debates to run their course, but prejudice is not tolerated and tends to be dealt with whenever an admin sifts through any given thread. The community is generally quite good, though as always there are people who are obnoxious or rude for the sake of it, but somehow the genuinely bitterly salty types you encounter in typical gaming voice-chat don't seem to be as populous as they would be in any other community. In reflection I find that strange, as the moderation is fairly relaxed.

The only drawback I can think of is that the moderation team is volunteer based so the coverage can be patchy at times, and it's possible for any grievances to go on for awhile before they get around to the issued support ticket in question. You also occasionally get newbies who do not speak english as a primary language who create giveaways, mistakenly thinking they are making some kind of "please give me this game" charity request, though they are typically easy to spot by their join date, lack of communication, and never failing to ask for top-end titles. There is also the small chance that due to unforseen region restriction issues, the key you are given might not be redeemable (though the site has features in place for careful participants to note the keys restrictions). In these cases the giveaway creator is expected to provide a replacement key, or suffer the black mark of a "key not received" against their account. This is not punitive, but more a scale of trust that people can glance at when entering a giveaway. Anybody who does not redeem a key to their own account and attempts to trade or resell it is immediately banned without recourse, for trying to game the community giveaway system for personal gain. As always, read the FAQ and rules, use common sense, and don't be afraid to ask in the forums, and all will be okay. Also note that the site uses the official steam authenticator to link your steam profile with your account profile, and lets you check the giveaway listings by wishlist filter, or by giveaways restricted to certain steam-groups. There is also a whitelist and blacklist feature if you find you enjoy someones contributions or find someones behaviour distasteful. Whitelisting allows them to bypass level restrictions on your giveaways like a VIP entrant, whereas blacklisting causes both you and the marked member to be unable to enter each others raffles.

Full disclosure : I was actually googling for the steamgifts address on my laptop when I noticed the trustpilot rating was lower than I expected it to be, so came to offer my opinion in hopes of offsetting troll reviews / disgruntled ex-members. Like any community, the majority of those who are punished tend to see themselves as totally innocent victims, but I also don't doubt that there may have been false positives or weird banning circumstances. I would personally err on the side of "it was probably justified" as a rule of thumb.

Still, If in doubt, lurk from afar and gauge the community for yourself. You may note that it is possible to criticise the rules, and sometimes even outright argue with admin without hint of punishment, though that kind of leeway is usually given to political threads when people butt heads over matters of passion. Unless your infraction is very severe or a constant recurring issue, the worst you can expect is a temporary suspension. The site is most definitely not a scam, but while it tends to function exactly as intended, it may help to remember it is community-driven and has little in the way of official high admin intervention. Either way, it's free and the community is typically good. Just don't join if you expect miraculous AAA game wins to pile upon you, it can be months before you win anything, depending on how often you visit to enter, and how popular the giveaways are.

Banned me for no reason.

Banned me for no reason.. in a random day.

No chance given to get my account back, because they think I did a serious bad action. No idea what I did.

Some people shouldn't be promoted to moderators... banning a lvl.8 account with so many years in the website, for no reason, is something that is really shocking, and could only let me think that this person had some other reasons (I'm scared to find out which one..) to ban a guy like me who never received any suspension.

This website is really good to share…

This website is really good to share the joy of gaming with strangers. You can create giveaways and win games. Of course the chances are low if thousand of people enter it but you cant complain for something that is free. the only negative aspect of this website are the trolls. people who make fake giveaways and insult you. The support is also a bit slow but nothing that couldnt be solved with a more polished system.

They've permanently banned me and they…

They've permanently banned me and they claimed that the games someone else won were redeemed to my account even though this isn't the case. Whenever I contact steamgifts they refuse to answer my questions nor will they help me. The reason they banned my account is because I made a private giveaway for a single friend as a joke, it was even for a 1 dollar game which is a few cents on g2a. Making giveaways for one specific person is not against Steam Gifts their rules, but this is why I was banned. Ridiculous.

Bad reviews are probably from trolls…

Bad reviews are probably from trolls who were hoping to abuse the system and got caught. This is a *free* site that acts only as a platform for people like you who have leftover keys from bundles and other promotional offers for Steam games they already have or do not want, to give them away. Winners get the key directly from others, without any scam possible. Scammers get banned immediately. It's all random so you may be without a win even with a thousand giveaway entered but if you are smart, and target giveaways without thousands of entries, you WILL win free games.
