London Marathon Reviews 

Keep applying- paying my money and keep getting rejected. I hear stories of individuals getting in 15 years on the bounce - how is that right. The only way to get a place is by charity association but it feels wrong to constantly ask the same people

I’ve run 26 Marathons in my Lifetime - including the London Marathon (twice) back in the day
It has now “ Sold it’s Soul to the Devil”
1. Coverage and Commentary are now literally all about Sponsorship and Personal Stories !
2. Commentators are Bland and Inexperienced - not sure how many have actually run a marathon - one or two I suspect! Certainly Paula Radcliffe !
Sounded like a Commentators Love In with all of them telling each other how “ Amazing” they are ???
The should hire the two guys who commented on the Manchester Marathon the week before - they were Hilarious , Real and concentrated on ALL the Runners ALL of the time ! - better than listening to the usual drivel that the usual
Suspects roll out year on year - ranging from Super Hyper to Stories about who run for what Charity and the depressing realty behind it !
Running 26.2 miles is about individuals constantly fighting the battle of Physical v Mind and that should be the main focus and emphasis for the whole Race. The Coverage of the London Marathon by BBC almost makes the fact that 59,000 people are a side issue to this Constant Battle and that
Sponsorship is the main reason ??
Individuals v’s the Distance is what it is all about - it’s everything else that is the side issue!

Having run all the Races that I have for the right reasons - I now find the London Marathon slightly offensive in that vasts amounts of people are doing it to put themselves on Social Media to tell everyone how “ Amazing “ they are 😖
That’s not a reason for doing it - it’s pathetic!

12 years in a row I’ve applied and 12 times it’s a no, it’s such a shame as you only get one chance in life to do something great and so disappointing yet again, although the money goes to charity it would be nice to be given the chance to run it just once.

It's a good event, interesting to participate in and challenging to complete, but why oh why do they insist on entrants from everywhere trailing out to an exhibition centre in east London (ExCel) to get their number and chip at least one day beforehand?

It's difficult to get to and if you go by car they try to take £15 off you for parking, whether you're there for one hour or 24. Have Virgin never heard of Special Delivery or DHL?

It might be ok for those in or near London but it's not at all convenient for those north of Watford Gap, is it?
