I have been wearing glasses for almost my entire life and have countless eye exams and experiences and never have I had such an odd encounter.
I have a regular optometrist I see and had an eye exam scheduled with them, but I see but a week before my vacation my only pair of glasses broke and I needed to get a new pair and exam quick. I knew it wouldn’t be my regular eye care, but I’ve been to plenty of chain places before and I knew they are generally pretty good. But this was absurd.
For starters (and I did not know this when I booked my appointment), there are no doctors. A receptionist didn’t quick eye check and then stuck me in a room, closed the door and someone conducted the exam remotely through a speaker and changed the settings on the machine remotely. I could barely understand the person on the other end and it was so rushed I could tell I was just another blurb that popped up on their screen from wherever they were and they were eager to get to the next person in line. I seriously questioned if the exam was accurate.
I got a pair of glasses and had brought in frames for a pair of sunglasses I just wanted the lenses swapped out. Well for starters they couldn’t get me my lenses same day, which is the reason I went there. When I finally got them half a week later I got them home and noticed the paint was chipping off the one rim. I called and they said they’d order me a new pair.
My sunglasses which I have had for over 10yrs because they are the most comfortable frames I have ever worn and I know exactly how they fit, didn’t feel right. I put them on and immediately felt like the frames had been bent and lost their shape. Not to mention the lenses in both glasses didn’t sit flush in the frames. I know they often extend past the frame from the back (worse prescriptions need thicker lenses), but typically they don’t on the front. And my script isn’t that bad so my lens is rather thin. The fitting is totally shoddy. Every time I wipe them with a cloth pieces of the towel get stuck between the lens and frame. Just shows they don’t fit right.
I get back from vacation and call to enquire about my replacement frames (which nobody called to tell me were in while I was away for two weeks) and they tell me to come in and we can swap em out I can take care of the balance. I said “what balance?”. Apparently they wanted to charge me for the new frames. I said I called the day I got them and informed you they were damaged. These should be free of charge. I was told to just come in and we could talk about it. I go back tomorrow to pic them up but couldn’t resist writing this review when I saw it pop up. I hope to not have any trouble tomorrow but I’m sure I will.
The whole operation reeks of being unprofessional and basically a fast food version of eye care.
The staff at the location I went to was pleasant I will say and friendly to my small daughter who went with me. Other than that I couldn’t say it enough to just stay away!
Still test 2nd pair for placement of line (reading section). Employee said "Just get used to it"

They went above and beyond for my son!. Our dog chewed his glasses and he was very uncomfortable without them in. They gave temporary frames while waiting for the order to come in! My son was over the moon about it. We can't thank them enough. He left so excited and they made him feel special and gave his comfort back.
Im so disappointed with my glasses, not only did I get zero insight when choosing frames best fitting for me; which has caused the lens to be ill fitting— I see my actual eye dr next week for another pair and will be contacting my insurance about this. It seemed like the pair I received was rushed being the sticker removed some of the logo and the adhesive was hanging out. Just all sad, I needed my glasses to be perfect.

Helpful staff to find the right frames for my face
The prices are good and with my insurance I saved a lot of $$
I made appointment said they did not take Cigna which was fine bc I had Vsp asked for help only in man said that he can’t help which I didn’t understand bc I have never had someone not able to help me so I called myself was easy while I was on hold he told me if I want my glasses from lens crafters to just go there! Very strange they I told him I just wanted basic exam I believe I got an upgrade one bc they started taking pics of my eyes I got a pair of glasses bc I felt obligated to like they did not just want my eyes checked! Then I told the woman this was just my extra pair so I didn’t need the anti glare she said the basic was not in stock only upgrade I said no worries I can wait a few weeks was just my extra pair she lied to me bc when I got home I got a text they were ready! Then my total was $80 I knew how much it was boots be but she told me was $130 ??? They corrected it! Poor eye wear selection all they want is sales and it was a hybrid appointment will never go back!

Had to wait an extra 2 weeks for glasses due to incorrect lenses! Update I received an false email my glasses are still not ready umm 2 words Lens Crafters!!!!!!
