I got two pairs of glasses for one price. I really like my glasses and I liked that tgg gf e store had multiple options, styles, and different price points.
Employees were very friendly & knowledgeable. The virtual vision exam was different but not bad at all. I never did get a chance to talk to the actual doctor. My only complaint is the waiting around.... See more

I strongly feel this is a bait and switch scam. The ad says two pairs of glasses and an eye exam for $79. Add-ons are extra, of course, which is stated. What is not stated, is that if you have a stronger prescription/poorer eyesight, you will not qualify for the deal. They scan your glasses for your prescription before doing any exams, so they actually knew immediately that I wouldn't qualify, but put me through the process of the exam anyway only to tell me after everything was completed that I couldn't get the deal. I had already done the exam, so they would have charged me for it if I took my prescription and went elsewhere, so I just went through with it. Took two full weeks to get my glasses after being told a week and a half. In the future I will pay a little more and go back to Lenscrafters for the up-front costs and 1-hour delivery.

Came in to ask a question about my son who is 15 about contacts. We were able to see a virtual doctor same day and was on a Saturday. Walk-in appt took about an hour. He was able to learn how to put in and take contacts out in the hour time frame. He was able to wear contacts out the same day and we received his 12 month supply of contacts at a very affordable price a few days later. Very happy with our experience. Thank you!
Initial service was great eye examination and personal service.follow up was just ok
The hours on the door are incorrect. I told the staff several times and they failed to correct it. It's literally a piece of paper on the door, not a permanent sign. I went in 4 times and the hours are still incorrect. The staff member I dealt with told me that I was wrong and that the hours are correct and then proceeded to contradict the posted hours. I was told that I couldn't see the dr because it was "too close to closing time" because it was 30 mins til close, not an hour and 30 minutes, like I thought... BECAUSE THE HOURS ON THE DOOR ARE WRONG. So, I scheduled an appt for the next day. My appt was scheduled 30 minutes before closing. I made a comment about how that didn't make sense, as we were leaving.
The next day I had a very negative experience with this same staff member in which he called me "nasty" and basically yelled at me. To be fair, I had interrupted him as he chatted with a different customer. They were just chatting away about her plans for the weekend and what not for at least 15 minutes. I approached the desk multiple times during their exchange, when it seemed that the conversation was coming to a close. Each time they just kept going as she inched toward the door. Finally, as her hand was on the door and she was about to exit, but they were continuing to chat... I interrupted to ask when closing time was and if I should come back a different day. I was concerned about the closing time, as I had my appt moved up by 30 minutes BY THE COMPANY, because the original time was "too close to closing time" and I "wouldn't have time to shop." Like I said the day before... my original appt time didn't make sense. Anyway, he was chatting with the other customer and ignoring everyone else in the store, so I did interrupt and maybe that was rude, but part of customer service is, at the very least, acknowledging all of the customers. (He did not acknowledge me at all as I shopped.) I was concerned because closing time was like 15 mins away and I was under the impression that it was a hard closing time, since they had moved my appointment. Apparently, that is not the case and he gave me a whole lecture about how he does not like to be interrupted and that I "had a bad attitude" and was "being nasty" the day before....presumably because I pointed out the hours were wrong and thought that an appt 30 mins before close didn't make sense. When I tried to explain myself, he talked over me saying "YOU JUST HEAR WHAT YOU WANT TO HEAR" which clearly isn't the case, but I was done with his nonsense by that point and just wanted to get out of there as he was all but yelling in my face. He was incredibly rude to me. Much ruder than my interruption had been. I am sure he will have a whole different story where I am the villain, but of the 5 staff that I had interactions with, everyone else was very pleasant. I won't be back, as I don't want to have to possibly deal with this staff member again. He clearly holds a grudge. I was anxious about having to deal with him when I picked up my glasses, but luckily it was other staff instead.
I will say, it was busy the day of my appt and he was the only one there, so he did have several customers to deal with. But he did it in the most ridiculous way possible.... he ignored every single thing except the customer he was currently serving. He didn't even give me or the other customers a nod when we came out of our exam and started browsing the glasses. Just full on ignored everyone. People walked in and just stood at the desk until he finished with the customer he was with. He didn't give them a "be right with you!" or anything. Absolutely wild customer service.
It's been more than 3 weeks still haven't received my glasses. I've called and shown up in person and they don't seem to know what's going on. They advertise 2 for $89 but the real prices are more than four times that. The optometrist is outsourced to some 3rd world country and you talk to them via a video screen. I can't imagine it's as accurate as a real optometrist evaluating you in person - especially considering my prescription was very different than the one I had before.
My glasses are incorrect. I ordered multifocal lenses, but the near-vision prescription is wrong in both pairs. I went in yesterday after work—I couldn’t go earlier—and there was only one staff member available.
He spent over 20 minutes with another customer who was clearly very stressed because he had received the wrong glasses from a different place and didn’t know what to do. The employee patiently explained several times what his options were—how to request a remake or ask for a refund—but the conversation kept circling back to the same points. It felt less like a service interaction and more like a situation where the customer needed to vent and the employee stepped into a counselor role.
I understand and appreciate the intention to help, but at the same time, there should be enough staff to assist other customers who also have limited time. I don’t mind waiting a reasonable amount, but over 20 minutes in this situation felt excessive. He didn’t seem to acknowledge that I was waiting, and when I said, “I’ll come back another time,” he simply replied, “OK.” When I left—after waiting more than 20 minutes—they were still talking. (this happened at around 1 pm on 4/17/2026)
Now I have to return and wait another two weeks for my glasses to be remade, which is an unreasonable delay.
Went in for $79 special expecting same day glasses. Ended up paying $224 for transition @ $135 special and of course upgrades with little explanation of my eyesight. Then told 2 weeks! Came back 2 weeks later and glasses were off. Told they would correct problem. Waited 3 weeks and finally called, only to find out they lost my glasses!! Then told they would upgrade and rush order!! Still waiting!! Friday will be 7 weeks for ADVERTISED SAME DAY GLASSES!!!
I was notified 2 times that my glasses were ready to be picked up. When I arrived to pick them up, I was informed that they were not there and that the system generated the message a day early, so I have to return the next day to pick them up. Why send me a message saying that my package is ready to pick up if it is not ready to be picked up ??
I've always had the most wonderful and positive experience with each and every staff member. They always are so kind and professional and go out of their way to make you have a really great experience. They are fast and efficient - being able to receive glasses the same day is absolutely amazing. I know there are plenty of Stanton Opticals all around San Diego, but this one by far is my most favorite and the staff truly makes a difference.
The on-site doctor is great, but the office workers are lacking.
