Unauthorised use of credit card

Unfortunately not a great experience.

I paid for a booking on behalf of a friend and specifically asked for my card details not to be stored or reused. Despite this, my card was charged multiple times without my consent.

I had to chase refunds and was repeatedly told the issue had been resolved when it had not.

While the matter was eventually corrected, the process was time-consuming and stressful. I would have expected much better handling of sensitive financial information

Dreadful!!!

Booked 3 rooms In January for my birthday in April, this was for 9 people. Prior to the lockdown restrictions I contacted the hotel for advice as all of the party are from separate households and several of us are frontline NHS/care staff. The hotel are poor at responding to emails and take a long time to reply, if at all. The hotel were still saying we could come and stay even though all the bars, restaurants etc were closed and even though I had explained we would need to travel together and lived in separate households. When full lockdown restrictions were in place the hotel did agree to refund me the £240 balance, which they had taken just before the lockdown was announced and many weeks after I had booked??
We are now 10 weeks after the money was taken and I have still not received a refund, this balance was paid on my credit card and I have been charged interest for 10 weeks now. Stables Inn replies occasionally and says they are processing my refund or it’s been done or it will be done soon.... etc etc they told me at the beginning of May I would receive my refund by the 8th April at the latest??? Still not had it!!!
I understand that things are taking longer than usual but 10 weeks for a refund??
Be honest with customers don’t mess them around and tell lies!!
The latest email I received stated they are now awaiting funding before they can process my refund which must be the 6th different story I have been told.
I believe customers money is being used as an interest free loan, whereas I’m being charged interest on my credit card for the money they won’t give back.
Obviously when things get back to normal I will not be rebooking with the stables inn and looking at the Facebook comments neither will many other!!!!
