Big scam! Stay away!

This company is a complete scam! After they took our onboarding fee, they vanished without a trace—no responses to emails or calls. Thankfully, we didn’t send them samples, especially since they requested delivery to a home address, which seemed highly suspicious. This was even more concerning after they claimed to be opening an exclusive showroom in a luxury mall. Adding to the red flags, their initial video calls were conducted from restaurants or coffee shops, which felt unprofessional and shady. Now I see they have multiple domains under the same agency. I wonder why...

TOTAL SCAM

TOTAL SCAM ! as per the other reviews, they are all very believable until you pay them the "signing on" fee and then you never hear from them again. AVOID ! if you really want to know if they are a scam, just ask them who their other clients are, which brands they work with etc.? they have photos of brands on the website but no names, as they dont work with any brands. if they dont answer that question, you know they are a scam. appalling that during these tough times for many small business they are actively engaged in ripping them off and basically stealing their money. sadly the world contains people like this.

Hi Tom,

We don't know who you are and we don't think that you are a client of ours. We used to put all of our brands names on our website, but buyers would look at the brand's instagram and rarely engage with us or the brands, so the reason that we do not put the brands details on the website is so that buyers need to log in and thereby identify themselves, and then we can see which brands each buyer is interested in. We are happy to answer any questions, all you need to do is email us.

Your "review" is a further example of trolling that has got out of control. You will be part of the lynching mob, jumping to unfair conclusions based on one side of the story. We understand that their is very little we can say here, and yes life is not fair, is it!

This company is a scam

This company is a scam. Very similar experience to what has already been reviewed. It's pretty obvious that the majority of reviews have the same complaint - because the company is fake. It fronts as a sales agency but it seems like it's just a one-man show, the owner who is working out of his apt. They target younger brands who are eager to grow exposure and sales.

We signed on in early October with payment upfront, which was supposed to cover fees to get the marketing going and reach out to buyers. They said it would take a couple months to gain traction. They were very responsive in the beginning. Thereafter, no responses. He even had the gall to get upset after failing to show up on a scheduled call. I think he forgot who the client is and who has already paid for the service. They basicaly take your money and do nothing. In hindsight, I should've known because their instagram posts have all been posted in a couple spurts. They never tag any brands and there are no comments. There's a bunch of these scams out there so just be careful. We're pursuing litigation with our legal team.

In any case, stay away. Feel free to reach out if you want to know more.

Responding to SSAW's reply:

It's blatantly obvious in the "company's" response that SSAW is not a legitimate company. What is this bullying / trolling? I'm just providing an honest review of our experience with SSAW. If SSAW has the audacity to get upset then that's on them. This is the beauty of the internet - eventually you'll get exposed, we have the ability to go public with this.

If there was even the slightest possibility that the company is legit, they're obviously not capable of doing their job. The respondent even admitted that SSAW is having problems, laying people off, issues in moving... How is any of this the problem of your clientele? We are not your friends, nor family. We do not care what problems you have. There was simply an business agreement in which we pay for a service which you have not rendered. Stop making excuses. When we sell our products, we deliver. If there is some shipping issue, we don't make excuses. We address the problem and compensate the customer as required. That's business. You should conduct your affairs similarly. Clearly you do not understand that.

You said it yourself, you not only are a scammer but a terrible business person. So, all the brands out there, you heard it yourself, this "company" doesn't have their sh*% together.

Again, look at all the other complaints which are altogether similar. Hmmm...which one is the liar?

Hi, We have invested a considerable amount of money in moving to the Middle East and working with some great brands and buyers. However, recently we have experienced some problem and we have laid off some team members as a result. If you have a complaint you can raise it with us, and if you are not satisfied, which we hope you will be, then you can take us to Court where we will have an opportunity to defend ourselves. But this trolling is terrible. I am sure you all tell your children not to bully other children, but you feel fine bullying us. Please remove your "reference" and pursue legitimate forms of redress. We hope you never have any problems in your business! We have had problems, but we are not giving up, as anyone who emails us will find out.

The comments you make about the size of our business are completely hypocritical. You do not have offices and you have a very small following on Instagram - of around 250 followers.

The SSAW.io scam

SSAW.io presents itself as a company that helps young brands grow through their network of resellers around the world. It is not so. In reality, it is the young brands that will help SSAW.io, since the company will make money and credibility on their backs, without bringing them any customers.

The approach phase is well put together and the content of their website seems very professional. It talks about the different promotional seasons throughout the year and their ability to sell brands to resellers at the right time. They create a sense of urgency that makes you think that the sooner you commit, the sooner you can get on schedule and get sales into their vast network.

They have salespeople and an online Showroom where the brands are exhibited. Getting involved with them is not cheap, prices start at almost €2000. When you ask them about sales estimates, they remain evasive “we can’t know” but tell you that your brand will sell very well in this or that market. You will have a salesperson assigned and a real collaboration can begin. We are based on the principle of working for the long term.

Make no mistake, this is not about maintaining good long-term business relationships but about putting yourself on hold because the marketing process could be very long, or even infinite. But they don't tell you that.

You sign, you pay. They ask you for some information in order to target your market, then they disappear. The salesperson assigned to you will never contact you again, not an email. They also told you that there was no point in following them up, it is up to them to contact you as soon as a sale is in progress, so you wait.

After almost 4 months still nothing, so you send an email to your sales representative to find out where they stand. And he doesn't answer. It's the CEO who made you sign 6 months ago who comes back to you a few days later for a 20-minute video call where he will tell you that for the moment they have no results, that we need to be patient, etc.

Either, you wait, you trust them.

More than a whole year passes and they still haven't contacted you, not once.

I consider this to be fraud. I reported it to them, requested a refund and still have no response.

To summarize: you pay, they disappear. It's simple.

You gave your time, you paid for skills, a network and results. And you got nothing, absolutely nothing. Not a sale, not an email, no sales reporting. More than a full year later. It is not normal.

If the company was honest, they would refund or not commit to marketing brands without being sure they could do it. We don't pay them to play with our money. We pay them to get contracts with resellers.

It's been more than a week since I communicated my request. I sent numerous emails without getting any response. If I don't get the refund amicably, I will go through legal channels, at least so that the company is reported. Young brands need to know the risk they are taking by signing with SSAW.io. I will return to this space soon to communicate the progress of the file.

Update: following this review, the company SSAW.io finally contacted me to offer me an immediate refund, on the condition that I delete the review as quickly as possible. That's what I did. I wanted to believe in their good faith and I deleted it. 3 days later, I still had not been reimbursed. I contacted the CEO again and he assured me that he would process the refund the next day. The next day, nothing. Once again the commitment was not honored.

The rest of the exchanges consisted of always giving false payment dates; to lower the reimbursement amount; to give a multitude of excuses or reasons, each more bewildering than the other. In short: never respect a deadline; never to be repaid. We are more than 10 days after the commitment to an immediate and full refund and I still have not received anything. I therefore move on to the next phase: republication of the review, reporting and legal complaints.

Updated 04/04/2024

Our lawyer sent a letter of formal notice by registered mail to the company SAW.io for a final amicable appeal. CEO has not deigned to open it, probably to protect himself, because he knows he would lose in any court. But he was legally notified that he received and saw the mail addressed to him, even if he did not open it. We will soon go through the European courts to condemn this “company” which continues to defraud brands with complete impunity.

We are very sorry that this person feels the way he does, although we would point out that we have been working with him for over a year. In fact we have checked the email logs we were both very communicative in the first 5 months of our engagement, which began in November 2022. We emailed him on 30th March 2023 an email that he did not reply to, and then we did not get one email or contact of any type until he emailed us on 15th January 2024 when immediately he started asking for a financial "settlement" backed up by threats. Apart from anything else this is very strange. Why did he not respond to our email or make any contact with us for 10 months and then, instead of asking us politely to restart the marketing for his brand, why did he begin by asking for money with menacing threats?

This person signed a clear contract, and as he contracted as a business it is fair to assume that he knew the implications of what he was signing. More than a year later he has come to us demanding that we pay him money or he will publish negative references about the service we offer. We believe this may amount to criminal extortion. We also note that he accuses us of not communicating with him for a year, but he made no attempt to communicate with us for almost a year, with the last communication being us communicating with him which he never answered, and as soon as he started to communicate with us recently we immediately responded.

If he has a dispute with us about the quality of the services that he has received then he should have brought a case in the civil courts and given us a fair chance of defending ourselves. Instead he has resorted to trolling, bullying and possibly to criminal extortion. It is difficult to see how we can carry on business after publication of a reference such as this. We have invested thousands of Euros in keeping our business going through some very bad times, with the owner of our business taking £100,000 out of his pension over the last two years to keep our business afloat. We now reserve the right to claim damages for the consequences of this reference on our business and the direct losses that the owner may suffer and to the injury to his reputation and health.

This is not correct. We have been responding to email and WhatsApp message. This person has committed criminal extortion by demanding money from us in order to stop her publishing this review. We are trying to work constructively with her even now, but she is not willing to do so.

We have tried very hard to get in contact with the person who made this reference. As far as we can determine she is not a customer of ours and we have no record of ever having been in contact with her. We process thousands of emails each month and we do our best to carefully respond to each email and we would be happy if she wants to apply to us again.

Happy

We have worked with SSAW for over two years and we know that they act with the utmost integrity and help us address markets that we could otherwise not reach.

SSAW-Showroom is a good partner in the Middle East and in other areas worldwide.
