helpful staff

I had an issue when working on a classic car (convertible) where I needed a really weird sized socket to get the seats out as the bolt was stuck solid. I couldn’t find one anywhere and I mean anywhere, went down to screwfix and a member of staff brought me out the correct socket size in varying depths and one off them was spot on. It says a lot for bricks and mortar shops as I could’ve order 30 different sockets online and not ended up with the right one. Top service.

I purchased an Erbauer reciprocating saw…

I purchased an Erbauer reciprocating saw from them about 2 years ago, maybe 3 years.Recently I came to use it and found that a spring securing clip for the cutting blade had become mislaid or lost. I contacted customer service at Screwfix to order a replacement and was told that they don't have one. Now I have a machine which cannot be used because the blade is not able to be secured. I have been advised that this product is only sold by Screwfix, so there is no-one else to go to. Without that spring clip, the machine is a piece of scrap. It seems that in this case, Screwfix seems to supply consumables and not any spares for the item. I have not got the receipt, it was damaged with rain.

Shameful Company policy

No problems with the staff but company's policy of trying to force payments through an app is so wrong. Give it a year and this place won't take your legal tender and no phone no purchase, the older generation are being forced to use technology that I don't have nor want. Won't be using this company again nor any under the Kingfisher chain.

Following a disappointing in-store…

Following a disappointing in-store experience it's interesting; 1. Screwfix don't respond to emails offering advice. 2. Their records are so bad they survey me on the grounds I have placed an order (I have done no such thing). 3. Their survey is more about getting information on me rather than learning what's right and wrong with them. This company was once a refreshing change its now a disaster for many reasons.

Completely hopeless when something goes wrong

Two items ordered for delivery. Damp proof membrane needed for a concrete pour was not delivered, the other item was delivered by the couriers. (Parcelforce).

Over the next few days the item was marked as being in the depot, out for delivery twice and today a week after it was meant to be here has still not arrived.

Two conversations on the Screwfix 'chat system' got me absolutely nowhere. An email (via the online form) to customer services got me an automated response that they may take 3 days to reply.

So here we are a week later, still no delivery, concrete unpoured and Screwfix totally incapable of responding to their couriers ineptitude (or indeed providing any worthwhile customer service).

In stock Or not in stock, that is the question

In stock, but items never ready???

OK i buy most items from TOOLSTATION as items are literally ready in minutes...Ive used Screwfix afew times when items are out of stock in toolstation, but screwfix ALWAYS let me down.

Why does it show items ready to go and buy in store but when you order online items are not ready at all, usually get a message saying:
"items are being delivered into store, please wait for a SMS text" Or being processed online for hours and hours.

Do you guys need to hire more staff??

Love the click and collect

Love the click and collect. Also any time I've had to phone with a query I've always got speaking to someone I could understand. Such occasions included checking what time deliveries came to my local branch and needing to cancel an order. Please other companies out there, have a look at how it should be done. Also, big shout out to Kieran in Armagh. Thanks for your help mate!

Excellent service and advice

Just used Screwfix Llangefni for the first time after using the Bangor store. Excellent customer service. Was not sure exactly what I needed but they sorted me out and I can now go ahead with the jobs I need to do. Will certainly use again.

Disgusting language

I had an on-line account with Screwfix and have bought lots using it in order to renovate my own home and also to maintain, refurbish and improve my rental properties. I also buy items to use in a special school where I work and make things with my students.

Several months ago, I was disgusted to find an adhesive product called “Sticks Like S**t” on Screwfix’s website. (Except their final word includes the letter ‘h’. I can’t put that here as Trustpilot quite rightly deems it be inappropriate language, even with the asterisk). I emailed screwfix to ask why one earth they would have such a vulgar, coarse and foul-languaged product for sale. I pointed out that I would not want my rental property families or their children seeing a product like that in my mastic gun and certainly not at the school where I work where we do our best to discourage bad language and vulgarity. I mean…..WHY have a product with that name? Do Screwfix think their client base are all coarse, vulgar clods who will find that appealing? Or, heaven forbid, amusing?

I received a reply from Screwfix which said that “it’s a popular product which sells”. That was it.

Yesterday, I came to place another order at Screwfix on-line, including glue, decorator’s caulk, some tools, a heat gun etc. Once again, I was presented with this disgustingly-named product. I emptied my shopping basket and went to Toolstation and my local independent builder’s merchant and spent over £200 with them instead.

I have since phoned Screwfix and asked them to cancel my account and, under GDPR regulations, erase all my data from their servers. I won’t ever buy anything from Screwfix again. The person I spoke to to request this didn’t even ask why….

When I go shopping for property maintenance items, tools and all the things which are sold in many other outlets, I do NOT expect to see disgustingly-named products like this. I am happy to pay more, if necessary, to buy elsewhere and, as I explained to customer services, price is NOT everything.

I’m finished with Screwfix and, only this evening, spent £169 on a stainless steel sink for one of my properties…NOT bought from Screwfix. I’m finished with them

NOTE: I posted this review several days ago. No response whatsoever from Screwfix. Not even the generic, please email SOS Screwfix etc. I see from the responses that Screwfix waxes eloquently when the review is praising them, but when criticising them it’s always the generic response or, in my case and others, no response at all. This confirms my decision not ever to purchase from them again.

NOTE 2

Still not a peep from Screwfix here. Not even the generic one. I’m very disappointed as I was looking forward to their explanation (on a public forum) of why they stock a product with a disgusting, unappealing name.

This evening I paid £305 for a Franke sink for one of my rental properties. NOT with Screwfix again

NOTE 3

Come on, Screwfix, you’re answering praise reviews with gushing thanks, so are reading reviews, right? Still no comment from anyone regarding the above.

Excellent customer service

Very, very impressed with Screwfix today.
We had purchased a leaf blower and vacum, unfortunately the collection bag lasted two outings b4 it ripped open.
Emailed Screwfix and they gave a full refund and informed not to return the leaf blower.
Why can't all customer service be like this!
Thank you Screwfix
