Good click and collect service

Used the Fareham branch a few times this year since they re-opened post-Covid lockdown. Their click and collect service I find is really good, my items are ready for me when they text me, no long ques and staff happy to help.

POOR STANDARD DELIVERY

I quite like Screwfix and the fact that as a very elderly couple we can get items delivered to our door. However the order that was delivered today came in a very scruffy and battered white van. The driver rang the intercom to our flat in a small block of elderly residents and then instead of bringing the box up he just dumped it at the entrance where anyone could have taken it. Poor old Husband (in his 80's) went down the three floors and was pleased to find that it was still there. Suggest you stop using Parcelforce as they have very low standards. Not a positive experience

Not a positive experience. Member of staff outside the Bishop Auckland store was dismissive. She didn't know anything about the store products when I came for mostly advice alongside purchasing what I may need. She wouldn't let me in the store to speak to perhaps a more experienced or knowledgeable member of staff to get the advice I needed and simply said I needed to know the order numbers of the exact items I needed - well I didn't know exactly what i needed so that was useless! Spoke to other customers as they were arriving whilst dealing with me instead of making them wait so was made to feel like I was a nuisance wasting her time. Was then made to sit in my car, find what I needed and order online. May or May not have wasted money, we shall find out when I get home, start my project and discover I didn't get what I really needed. Should probably have a member of staff on the door who actually knows the products and has experience with them.

Excellent Customer Service

I have used the Screwfix click and collect service several times in recent weeks. Last week I bought a chainsaw from them that unfortunately failed. I found the response from their central online Customer Services team first class and when I took the item back to the East Grinstead depot their reception was excellent. Very professional and extremely friendly. I received confirmation of a refund the same day. I wish all firms were as positive with their customers as I have found Screwfix to be.

The decline is accelerating.

I am a plumber doubling as a painter. I have been using Screwfix for almost 20 years. I use 3 stores frequently in east London. Negative experiences with Screwfix have become more frequent over the last 18 months such as not having the item when I have booked a collection meaning I have to travel miles through London traffic to the next store or not being open at the advertised time in the morning because the manager could not get out of bed. The final nail in the coffin was a failed delivery. I booked it 9 days in advance to ensure it would arrive for the fitter. The day before delivery was supposed to take place, Parcelforce had it in their east London depot 9 miles away but just could not manage to transfer it from the warehouse to the van. The part turned up 13 days from the date of order. The fitter had gone after trousering his fee and I was left with copius apologies from Screwfix but no compensation (to date). I have had dealings with Parcelforce in the past, none of them good. Another 1 star Screwfix reviewer also mentions them. Perhaps Screwfix aren't bothered about losing long term customers? I would be. Goodbye Screwfix!

Zero Spares for Titan

I'm generally very pleased with the staff and the prices.

However I purchased a Titan Lawn Mower (TTK736LWM) - now passed guarantee - but there are no spare parts in the UK, anywhere.

Screwfix: "Regrettably, as this brand is imported in for Screwfix, we are unable to carry out the repairs or obtain spare parts."

This was an expensive purchase and the self drive unit is now locked on permanently - bit dangerous to be honest.

I've now located the problem - a pressure spring is missing - presumably broken and then fallen off.

So now I have an expensive mower that's unusable in a safe manner due to a simple component not being available.

Wish I'd known of this situation before I purchased.

I'll never purchase a Titan product from Screwfix again - buyers beware.

They tell you to wait for a txt before going to store. Then when they've sat on an item for 2 weeks without txting it's there, they tell you to just pop in without one, cos it doesn't matter it's fine.

1 star for the staff and the company

1 star for the staff and the company.

They have been great on the phone, so friendly and helpful, yet as soon as it came to returning their Generator (that we rely on, since 2 we are a family with 4 young children) they were still pleasant on the phone but clearly too stupid to be able to put it through. We have been waiting 2 weeks for a refund so we can get electric again, but no, we are still waiting. 3 to 5 days we were told, we phoned on the 5th day and they clearly didn't put the refund through, so they said 3 to 5 days again, we are now on our 5th day again, I phoned and they told me to speak to my bank as they have it, so I did phone the bank and they don't have it.

We have gone 2 weeks without electric and have had to rely on my mother in laws electric, a quarter mile walk with a 5 month old and 3 year old and our food and money spent to get battery powered lights in the caravan has been expensive and a great pain.

I'm not happy and will be seeking further advice from the Ombudsman.

NEVER TRUST PRODUCT REVIEWS

Have been using Screwfix for many years now. Usually have my requirements in stock or can get them fairly quickly. One serious issue though. NEVER trust the product reviews as they only publish favourable ones. Every balanced review I have submitted to date has been rejected. Every published review is entered in a monthly prize draw.

Great for a wide range of DIY products for your home

Since COVID-19 and the lockdown I have used Screwfix a number of times. Website lets you know if your preferred store has the items you want in stock, place order, checkout, all done in a matter of minutes. Depending how busy the depot is, a text arrives to say ready for collection Brilliant. Collection is safe and social distancing applied.

Fast, efficient and very very helpful. . . Thanks

Used Screwfix a lot of times over the last few years and apart from the very odd hiccup they have been wonderful.
Visited Pitreavie branch today and as usual the staff on duty could not have been more helpful and informative.
Keep up the good work guys.

Screwfix Scotland.

This is a general review about Screwfix in and around Kirkcaldy, Dalgety Bay and Dunfermline over the last 4 months.

The website is very clear to navigate, and the order process is easy.

Never had any issue with stock arriving late. It's very simple. READ what it says on the website, order on line, then WAIT until an SMS message arrives to say it's ready. Then go and fetch it.

DON'T turn up expecting to walk up to the counter without an order. You won't get anything. It's pointless and misleading if you write bad reviews when you haven't read or understood the numerous instructions online AND outside the store which tells you this.

Screwfix aren't always the cheapest, but we've found them to be super-reliable over the last 4 months (during a house refurbishment.) They were open when Wickes and B&Q were closed. Without Screwfix the last 4 months working time would have been lost.

Avoid if you're visually impaired

Avoid if you're visually impaired. Very very unhelpful. Refused to help navigate the red and white maze. Asked politely to show me the way in. Used the NAZI " following company policy" excuse despite explaining I could not see how to enter. Then accused me of me of being rude. It's hard enough being blind in one eye without these thoughtless fascists. Stopped using this company a few years ago as their customer service was so poor. Thought that they might have improved. I got that wrong!

Terrible service and even worse customer service.

I purchased some underlay for laminate and needed it the same day so got click and collect but click and collect is different to these fools as it means collect when they say you can collect, i can not see how this “click and collect is not just a normal deliver to store, if all other stores in the uk offer this i fail to see how screwfix call it click and collect, but i was told i would have to wait 3days for my goods but the worst was yet to come, i arrived at screwfix only to be denied my property but a stuck up gob sh!te manager because i do not have a drivers licence or passport SHOCKING i know but its there policy, so was told i could have what is rightfully and legally mine If i would drive the 32 mile trip home and back to get I.D i do not have. Considering there is a toolstation next to most screwu’s i think i’ll use them
