App does not work most of the time, very frustrating
As the others have said, thieving behavior. I can understand why the School changed payment providers, as the service was really poor in the first place and the petty refund charge shows the desperation the company must be feeling by having all these schools cancel contacts.
sQuid - please just give parents ALL our money back. YOU cancelled the contract at very short notice not us, not our school, YOU. I emailed you 22 days ago and you are ignoring me. We had no choice but to use you and like the school bully you steal our children's dinner money - shame on you! You do the very thing cashless meal systems were designed to stop.
I have applied for a refund since 11th of march for £740 in my sons trip purse but then there declined it on the 14th of march then I replied on the 15th but there still haven’t approved the refund or processed I have tried contacting customer service but no one has replied. I just want the money back please

I notice sQuid are still not answering anyone who dares mention the schools fiasco. I mean, why would they, they know it's morally bankrupt, right?
And they really do need to stop telling people to read the 'Ts&Cs', it's embarrassing now; the 'Ts&Cs' state quite clearly that there's a fee when a customer cancels their account, but there is no mention of what happens when sQuid decides to pull the plug on the customer as a dirty business strategy, in this case- parents of school kids whose only reason for joining up to sQuid was because their school affiliated with them and most schools are cashless, so we kind of had no choice in the matter really and we certainly DID NOT have a choice in them packing their bags up and saying bye-bye!
Ultimately, this all seems just a tad illegal and exceedingly disgusting to say the least, and considering there are about 600 schools involved... how much money are sQuid set to make in stolen dividends for their CEOs for the 2024/2025 business year?
That is a tonne of customers they've just lost, we certainly won't be touching them with a barge pole after this.
Theft. Will be reporting this.
I had a £185 balance in my account due to refunded school trip. Applied to withdraw on 11th March and still have not received this despite it being shown as approved. Now do not have the funds to pay for the replacement trip,
10 working days since approval (which was 10 days after the request) will be up on Thursday. I will update this review then.

Poor app. I thought it was me alone with transactions issues ! they are all about to rob people’s money unfortunately. I am among those who couldn’t managed to get my refund due to what said my fund is less than £10 and I would have to pay £10 fee to receive a refund? Its crazy!
Like many other parents, we were also informed by our school that sQuid is closing it's UK services. When I tried to withdraw my balance I get this below message:
"Available to withdraw: £0.00
You are unable to withdraw funds as your balance of £11.89 is lower than our minimum refund amount of £10.01."
Are these people for serious??? How come they charge £10 admin fee when they are closing their services and not cancelled by us as a customer?
This is totally unfair and can't imagine how much they would've earned by charging £10 fee from every single child's dinner money in a 1000+ pupils at one school!
Definitely a proper investigation is required & we demand our money back.
Can't give it 0 unfortunately. Scam company. Closed down and will not refund our money because it's less than 10 pounds.
Disgusting.
Dishonest, untrustworthy and despicable company. No ethics whatsoever. Will not refund money once THEY have decide to pull out of schools and expect to be paid an admin fee on top of that withholding money that should be refunded. What a scam!
Please all email Martin Lewis - let’s gets this disgusting company on TV so everyone can see what they are really like.
Sorry there is no "0" option! This is a SCAM. School advised the account is closing down. Instead of refunding the money, they made all sorts of excuse and deduction of the money on the account.
Not even worth 1 star, just because they pull out of the UK they clear up on all those small amounts left in individual accounts. They must be laughing all the way to the bank. Beware other users as you could be next. My advice would be to always empty your accounts periodically.
Disgusting. You withdrew the service not the parents. You should refund us our money plus £10 for our inconvenience!
Appalling company. I had a small amount of cash left in my account which when I tried to withdraw, I was informed of the change in terms and conditions and a minimum withdrawal of £10 was required. I am not able to access my cash. This company are exploiting parents and stand to gain significantly from small amounts of cash left on thousands of accounts. This is not acceptable and does not constitute honest business practice. We had no choice but to use this company to pay for in school purchases. Changing terms and conditions when business changes is dishonest and ultimately could be described as theft. I hope those responsible are held to account for this.
Decided to withdraw it's services from my daughter's school, and decided to charge a £10 admin fee for any refunds, I have less than £10 in the account so they wont refund me. What a bunch of con artists. DO NOT USE.
Dreadful! When we gave notice to withdraw our balance - they decided to keep 75% of it! Awaiting the response from CST that will probably never come. Avoid!
Appalling company.
Closed the account through our school and we were told a refund of available monies would be received. Now they are saying they are applying a £10 admin fee to all monies to be returned.Absolutely thievery and a dishonest company.
Squid are retreating from the UK (thankfully) but having assured the school that any/all outstanding balances would be refunded to parents, selectively forgot to mention the £10 admin fee to do so. A rip-off firm with poor customer service and a clunky app not fit for purpose.
Disgusting behaviour! Closing our accounts and not contacting us as parents and NOT refunding any balances below £10. Absolute daylight robbery.
