Too many red flags to trust with my car insurance
Very concerning for an insurance website
I was looking for temporary car insurance and received a quote from Square Insure. Before paying, I decided to check the company and policy information more carefully.
Their Contact Us page literally says, “Please configure your contact details in the Square Insure admin settings,” so there appears to be no properly configured way to contact them.
More concerningly, their Terms & Conditions say the temporary insurance services are “provided by” but the provider name is blank. The definition of “We/Us/Our” is also blank, and the contact section doesn’t provide contact details.
The website says it is FCA regulated and that cover is backed by a UK insurer, but I could not find clear information identifying the insurer/underwriter before purchasing.
I therefore decided not to purchase the policy. For something as important as motor insurance, I need to be able to clearly establish who I am buying insurance from, who is underwriting it, and who I would contact if I needed to make a claim.
I would strongly recommend checking all of this yourself before paying.
