I purchased 24 mammoth mums last spring with the understanding that they were developed to withstand the harsh winter of the Midwest. I planted in the spring and replaced the ones that never came up. Now it’s mid April and of the 24 only 3 survived the winter and I even covered the root balls with 3” of mulch last fall. Very disappointed with the mammoth mums and would not recommend purchasing.

BE CAREFUL!! They sell you things they do not have. I ordered a ROSE TREE for my wife's birthday towards the end of March. I also ordered a smaller rose root cutting I really did not want to avoid the shipping charges. The smaller rose root came in 2-3 weeks. I waited another week and called out of curiosity as to when the ROSE TREE I actually wanted would ship or arrive. The rep from a call center told me 'NEXT YEAR'!! I asked again, he repeated, 'next year, 2027' It would probably ship NEXT January. That is absurd. No email, nothing telling me that. Glad I called. I requested a refund. I will update on how that goes...

I ordered $200 worth of plants in February, and only received one item. I’ve emailed customer service multiple times with no answer. I just called and got a very rude agent who told me the rest would ship in 7-10 business days which would get them here at the end of April. After reading the reviews, I am concerned that I may not get them at all, or that they will arrive too late to plant! I wish I had read these reviews before ordering!
Bad news -
Two plants that came in did not make it last summer. Called in January to order new plants and told the system could not do it at this time. Please call back in Feb.

In March they cannot process the order because of the system.
Don't Waste Your time or money
There plants are okay when arrive - if they arrive. I have regularly had plants get delayed and delayed and then eventually canceled. There discount codes never work and when you reach out to them for help, they just say "sorry I guess that code doesn't work" without any solution. Don't waste your time with this company.

RIPOFF Dead plants, no refund
My plants were shipped late. Two out of three of them were dead on arrival and the other was tiny. Their customer service number says that their server is down and they don't know when they will be able to help me.

Horrible communication, bought a plant from them and was given a shipping date only to have it come and go with NO communication as to why it was not shipped. Emailed them and was given another date that came and WENT. Again NO communication. It is now too late to plant, so I Emailed again demanding my money back and cancel the order. Was given some lie that they are updating their system and I would have to wait for a few days. I'm not sure this nursery exists even. I told them I should charge them interest for taking my money with no intention of shipping me anything. BIG SCAM HERE. I see I'm not the only one this has happened to. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau and looking at having my bank charge back what I paid. I doubt they will refund me. Stick to local nurseries or more reputable online nurseries. I have a feeling this company is connected with brecks bulbs. Very scammy!

Horrible customer service- placed an order two months ago- rec'd some of the items- reached out via email to query estimated shipping of remainder- no reply, tried calling, calls did not go through, finally reached customer service via chat today only to discover the remainder of items were being prepared for shipping (after I told her our ground was frozen and the plants would be of no use now!)- asked for a refund and was told I would have to get in touch with them when plants arrived for that...that will be my sixth time reaching out. Horrible company policies- horrible communication- horrible all around.

Purchased 4 clematis: one backorder until fall; 3 sent and in transit 12 days. Sent pictures of dead plants and no response. They say they guarantee plants for life ... until they are no longer alive!! Won't be buying from them ever again, and wonder if I'll ever get my one backorder plant!
Mixed bag experience over several years…
Mixed bag experience over several years of ordering ranging from ok to poor. Customer service calls go overseas and I have had a lot of trouble getting agents to understand simple inquiries. Plants that are sometimes grafted, such as roses and fruit trees should say on each listing which method of propagation was used, but, sadly, they do not.

I ordered a crêpe myrtle tree that arrived in the spring, planted it right away and it’s still not producing any leaves so, emailed them with a picture of the dead tree and the order number and still have not heard back after a couple days, so therefore, I called long distance and they could not provide with the same plant so they gave me choice of, company credit to order again in the spring or to order something else. I did order something else, but they made me pay for shipping and would not budge on the shipping.

I ordered 2 clematis early April. It's May 9th and yesterday I called to cancel the entire order. Received an email indicating that part of my order would not be shipped until fall. This is unacceptable. You can email and they won't respond. Now it's a day after and now I find out, part of my order shipped when I called a day before to cancel. Their customer service sucks. They have these foreign people working their customer service and they don't understand a damn thing.

I have been ordering from Spring Hill for years, the quality has always been fairly good for the price. My last order was for 2 Rose plants, white rose and a coral rose. the coral was a internet special same with the white rose bush. The coral rose arrived and it was the size of twig! no bigger than 6 inches and had one sad little leaf hanging on it. I did contact customer care and explained that I was not happy with the quality of the coral rose bush, they did replace it at no charge. The 2nd one arrived and it was even smaller and just as sad looking as the first. 2 plants put together still did not equal half a plant, it will take at least 3 growing seasons to get these rose bushes to fill out. disappointed...
Quality control issue.
I recently purchased (4) plants. They finally arrived: (2) in fantastic shape; (1) in decent shape and (1) almost dead, barely more than a twig with brown leaves. I did send photos of the plants to customer service to let them know they have a serious quality control issue. Can't say whether they care since I didn't get a response. I planted all, but I expect that one will not make it.

I ordered 2 hibiscus plants last year. 1 of them was completely dead when I got it. I planted it anyway, but it never did anything. The other one grew great, but did not winter over. This year I ordered products nd they sent me a totally different bush from what I had ordered. I have tried to call numerous times and email the company several times. Nobody is available to answer my calls and no response to me email. What a terrible business. I want replacement of the 2 hibiscus plants or my money back.
