BBC Discover sounds overly smooth, overly rounded, and heavily drenched in the ambience of the recording space. The constant and excessive room reverb eventually becomes fatiguing and starts to limit creativity, making you less inclined to keep using the library. In my opinion, BBC Discover is only useful in specific and relatively rare situations. Another major limitation is the very small number of articulations provided across all instrument sections. Today, it is possible to find free orchestral libraries online that offer significantly more articulations, and for a relatively modest price there are several orchestral libraries available that provide much greater flexibility and usability. Some individual sounds in BBC Discover are undeniably excellent, and the quality of the original recordings can certainly be heard. However, as a complete package, BBC Discover is far from being a library suitable for serious, everyday orchestral work. That said, I am grateful that Spitfire Audio chose to offer a free glimpse into its professional orchestral range. Unfortunately, the portion included in BBC Discover feels too limited to fully demonstrate the true potential of the larger BBC Symphony Orchestra libraries.

Exelent audio quality. I rely like the sound., it can be used in many music styles.
Is so good, but I want improvement in trumpet stuff
I think is great ! sounds awesome
A lot of options and the sound of the instruments is great!
It was good
This orchestra pack is unbeatable for a free MIDI controllable library. It is SO capable. Great sounding strings, horns, percussion and a few different techniques for each! The real star of the show, however is the BBC Grand Piano which is just such a lovely patch. I use it FREQUENTLY in productions.
For being a free library, it’s great; I wish the samples were a little more realistic.
Great sounds. Easy to use.
This is freaking insane!!
Very warm and emotional sound!
Good choice of sounds for each note where we have more control over the dynamics of the instrument being used
High quality sound, bit more control would be better
Very good free orchestral pack for anyone looking to write orchestral music
The quality of this is amazing. Highly recommended!
Great sounds. Little confusing to manipulate because the format is very different than other similar devices but like everything else it just takes time to get used to the buttons, controls, and format but this old dog can and will learn new tricks
Not too Good but no too bad , but for free it is awesome
Amazing I love the quality of the audio it’s perfect for waltzes and it has helped me become a better composer. I use this with every song I make even if they don’t count as classical (the celeste always comes in clutch). Though the knob thing doesn’t work for me, idk if it’s important because it doesn’t do anything when I change it or click on it but I’m fine with that. Everything else being amazing makes up for that.
I really like the sounds in this library, very well recorded. I haven't tried out every single one though. Tuba: Sometimes I hear two notes when I want to play one. Brass in General: The tone has a major shift in the low register when I try playing notes that are just a bit higher. Also, the percussion is very quiet. Please fix that. Amazing library in general. Thanks for making this!
Little tunes growing huge with BBC Symphony Orchestra. Simply amazing! Thank you!
