A Cavalcade of Disappointments: Avoid Spec at All Costs

If it were possible to award fewer than one star, Spec would be the deserving recipient. An utter disappointment in their field, this firm has left an indelible mark of unprofessionalism, inefficiency, and deception.

Their service is a far cry from being reliable. Photographers regularly arrive late or not at all, and attempts to contact the firm about these issues are futile - a wall of silence is all that greets concerned clients.

Further concerns were aroused when bookings were cancelled and weekend jobs eliminated, seemingly without reason. Reassurances about their financial stability from an account manager proved nothing but smoke and mirrors, with their subsequent dismissal due to funding troubles. An abrupt shift to only commercial jobs has raised further doubts about their financial security.

Worse still is Spec's heavy-handed approach to billing. Invoices far exceeded the agreed rate, with any queries about these shockingly inflated bills ignored. Instead of addressing the issue, they resorted to intimidation, threatening court action to secure the payment.

Attempts to communicate with the founders are met with silence. Such evasion highlights an alarming lack of integrity and a worrying disdain for their clients. The departure of a well-regarded staff member who had previously attracted five-star reviews only further underscores the company's struggles.

If you're considering engaging with Spec, think again. The consistent lack of professionalism, coupled with their dubious financial practices, make them an unworthy partner. Avoid at all costs. Protect your time, money, and peace of mind from this company's disregard. Steer clear of Spec.

Full marks to Spec for great service and a comprehensive product at a very fair price. Our rep Lisa is a star at customer service, always friendly and professional, quick at responding and happy to sort things out and swap things around to help our schedule. The guys who come to do the surveys are good at timekeeping and polite to our clients (and us!) - the photos always come back quickly and good quality and usually give us a choice of angles and shots, and the floor plans are reliable. I think its a good package, - give them a try !

Michael is one of the most efficient people I've ever worked with and his service is as good as it can possibly get. He is knowledgeable, great to deal with and always goes above and beyond. I cannot speak highly enough of him and is the reason we use Spec. His communication skills are incredible.

I am always incredibly dubious and cautionary of change.
I took over the running of my branch around two years ago; within the initial weeks of my stewardship Michael Tursynski at Spec proactively "tapped" me up to take over our photography needs.
Whilst initially dubious, as I say, we were in need of a freshening up, as such, one of my first acts as branch manager was moving our full photography needs across to Spec; to see if they could perform as they promised.

Fast forward 2 years, Spec now act as core arm of our marketing and general sales pitch.
Never before could we place a property on the market with professional pictures and floor plan within 24 hours of client instructions. This gives us a complete edge for what can be a spontaneous market.
Not only that, genuinely, I believe the quality of pictures outshine our competitors.

One final note to say, Spec's verified 99% floor plans were never much of a power of persuasion for me, however we now appreciate the full value.

On several occasions we have had surveyors' under value square footage of properties we've had under offer. What Spec ingeniously have within their arsenal is the ability to share and advise the accuracy and methodology of their readings, which has genuinely assisted in sales.

In tandem, for properties we have co-listed with your "bigger named" agents who have taddled to our mutual clients that are floor plans are a little on the (marginal) low side, our credibility holds up when we can advise our clients of our honest and accurate readings.

A bit of a long winded one, but I have to say Spec are a huge benefit to the way we work, and I do think we would struggle to be as proactive as we are able.

I would highly recommend Michael Tursynski and his team. Specifically Michael if you are lucky enough to have him handle your account.

Being a new client to Spec we have been simply blown away by the level of service, professional attitude, and quality of the services they provide without a doubt the best in the business!!!

Chestertons in Chiswick have recently moved over to Spec from another photography company and have found the whole process so much more streamlined and straightforward..

Photos have come out great and a much better quality, angles and standard. We also rate the floor plans and Virtual Tours, they just add another angle to our property listings... and make them stand out so much more than others..

We are also impressed with how quickly the final photos and floor plans are back to us to load on.. always within a few hours of the job being finished..

To say we are pleased to have moved over to Spec is an understatement..

Always exceeding our expectations.

We were delighted to hear today, that the photographer who arrived at one of our properties had a bit of a surprise as the flat had not been fully completed with the washing machine and a few other items left in the middle of the room.

Spec have been amazing and used their initiative to move things out the way to save us having to call them out again.

I would strongly recommend spec for their efficiency and communication which is key for such a fast past industry we are in. Furthermore we had our photos returned within a couple of hours of them visiting the apartment

Amazing company with an incredible helpful team where above and beyond is standard for them. Had an emergency yesterday called Spec and explained to my account manager Ryan my position. I needed images ASAP. Booked an appointment for 9am and had my assets send to me before I even returned to my office!!!

Spec is a growing company that we (Carter Jonas Lettings) started working with about 18 months ago. They have come on in leaps and bounds as their expertise and platform grows. Always responsive and helpful and our current Account Manager Max is always on hand if we need help with appointments at short notice or a specific brief. The quality of the images is also good and helps with our instruction process. The addition of virtual tours especially when the first lockdown came about has proved invaluable. Thank you.
