Worst website for maths ever created, other websites like TT rockstars and my maths are far superior. It makes you write down and copy all of the questions even though you have to submit them online.... See more

I genuinely hate Sparx Maths (and also Sparx Reader). It's extremely stressful and time consuming. Most of the time, Sparx will set you work that isn't even learnt at school. It's an awful thing and H... See more

Rubbish, Why Does This Exist

I hate this stupid website I wish it was shut down, to improve this rubbish website you could
Remove Bookwork checks
Make questions easier
Not making that you have pay to use
Give us students less questions
Shut down this horrible website
Bring Heagerty back
Have a official icon
And more but I don't have time right now.

Sparx is SOO good!!! (pls help me)

After doing some Spark I went to see other people opinions on Sparx, and WITHOUT any surprise I DEFINITELY saw only 5 star reviews, which I didn't really even need to check because I ALWAYS knew I was going to see reviews saying how good Sparx is. Well there was some bad reviews but it obviously just had multiple typos in it or their electronic device just STUPIDLY autocorrected a spelling, like who would ever in a trillion years would write a bad comment about this ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL website, so I recommend Sparx like all the other comments OF COURSE.😁😁😁😁😁

Sparx is horrible

Im not sure if i accidentally rated the wrong sparx maths website but regardless, as i said on my other review, sparx maths is a waste of time and it doesn't really help that much to just write down in your book and copy bookmarks it's annoying, it's just so extra and there's no point hegarty is better but i think sparx bought hegarty so im not sure if its still a good website

Good but can improve

I enjoy sparx maths but the bookwork codes are confusing and have a weird pattern. The way you are doing it there are only about 2000 combinations before you have to change the pattern!
If you did it, A1, A2, A3 … A9, B1, B2 … Z9, Aa1, Aa2 … Aa9, Ab1, Ab2 … Az9, Ba1, Ba2 … then you have over 6000 and it makes it simpler!
The games after completing a topic are interactive but not necessarily fun or exciting. One of the games is watching the computer play higher or lower for you often resulting in it failing!
That being said, sparx maths is a good way to revise maths and it matches your level well.

Sparx Sucks

It's the worst service I've ever used. Always having to correct questions and must have 100% to complete it unlike hegarty which let your finish and the videos were way easier to understand. Oh and I hate the bookwork checks.

I am a teacher who dislikes sparx maths

I have had an extremely negative experience with Sparx Maths. As a teacher, I found the system to be extremely confusing and difficult to navigate. The instructions were unclear and the content was difficult to understand. I found the lessons to be overly long and too challenging for my students. The assessments were not particularly helpful and the reports I received lacked the detail I needed to help my students progress. I would not recommend Sparx Maths to any other teachers.

Disappointing for parents

Throughout the year I've been watching my child complete his weekly SparxMaths homework and if I'm being sincere, I'm incredibly disappointed.

To start with, the compulsory homework sets 4-6 tasks and each task contains 1-8 questions. Some of these questions can be challenging, and many contain "sub-questions", which means that it commonly takes longer than the recommended hour. Furthermore, the target and XP Boost tasks are encouraged by his school and take even longer, making his homework sometimes hit 2 hours weekly, which in my opinion just for mathematics is quite a lot. I also find it appalling that a student needs to achieve 100% each week of all the questions to just complete their homework, especially during busy weeks when they don't always have time to visit a teacher.

The questions are terribly curated. Either not specific or even just difficult to understand, even some CGP and private tutors struggle to understand the concept behind them and agree they are unlikely to show up on his GCSE papers. It's even happened before many times where my son has notified me that the correct answer, including those given from CGP, is marked incorrect and there's no way to report it. The support videos are also very poor and often are very overcomplicated than what they need to be, and thus don't help much at all. Plus, the voices of some tutors are distracting and sound like "very fake posh".

There's also plenty of frustration throughout, such as when it doesn't provide even a small hint when you've got a question wrong 3 or 4 times. It sends homework reminders to parents even when it's in the first portion of the set period, and if you get 1 of 3 fast track questions incorrect it completely skips fast track and makes you do questions similar to the ones you got correct.

Overall, I much preferred Hegarty Maths and do not believe that SparxMaths is an improvement, and even videos from SparxMaths were better. Very disappointed, and honestly not surprised that my child received a grade lower than usual after switching to SparxMaths, although it also could be down to poor teaching in the classroom.

ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE

Worst experience i have had with a math website because until you get all the questions right you have not finished the homework and there are bookwork checks to make sure you wrote the question down.

Mr Hegarty would be disgusted

This website has RUINED the legacy of Mr Hegarty. Where do i EVEN begin?

-Book-work checks were created to promote the suffering of the human race

-The videos are absolutely AWFUL and are not remotely related to the question. The people speaking sound like ROBOTS.

-The website constantly crashes and doesn't work with many bugs

I am boycotting this AWFUL website and I am going to sign a petition to return to Hegarty maths.

DON'T USE SPARX

This website is so broken. I did a question correctly and typed in the correct answer and i got it wrong. I used the same method on the new question it gave me and got it correct.

IT IS ABSOLUTE TORTURE.

The bookwork system is really annoying. It doesn't even help me learn. It just makes me angrier and you get a buttload of homework.
