I actually used to like maths when our school started to use it I grew distressed with each book work check and now i absolutely loath it. Don't they know that some people work better in there heads? I severely dislike it and i think most of the population agrees.

I am a parent that did very well at maths and enjoyed maths at school and college. I have 2 daughters currently doing Sparx, I wanted to see what all the fuss is about so I’ve done the last 3 weeks for both of them, year 11 and year 9, I ensured my daughters understood the work before I completed it.
The book checks are condescending and ridiculous, if you’ve done the work you’ve done the work, why waste all that paper?
I’d also be concerned as a teacher. Sparx isn’t teaching me anything that I wasn’t able to learn in class 20 years ago. With the cuts to education funding it wouldn’t surprise me if we see a situation where schools cut down on maths teachers and replace them with cheap cover supervisors and just put Sparx on, the videos do the teaching.

I loved maths at school, this program makes me hate it as an adult, if I was being expected to complete this weekly I would have lost interest and enjoyment and probably done worse.

The videos do not teach sufficiently well for a student to understand the principles.
That you get a new question after getting one wrong twice means you don't learn what you did wrong. You might just be one step away. This also means it takes forever.

Very complex homework that takes far too much time to complete. The book work checks add additional time to the homework. This leaves children who are tired after school very frustrated.

Sparx maths is the worst website that has ever been made. You get 80+ questions per week that you HAVE TO GET RIGHT otherwise it says you haven’t done the homework, and the book work codes are 100% unnecessary and unneeded and this whole website just makes everything about your life massively worse. I HATE IT. Sparx maths is horrible and does not care about students mental health. It makes students redo the question every time they do not write it down and are forced to redo it. But to redo that question, you must know an answer to another question, taking the students into a loophole where they cannot complete it till they write it down. And if their answer is wrong when they have written it down, they also lose a question. I HATE IT.

Remove bookwork checks please its so useless i know the answer theres no point going back to write in the answer from 10 questions ago and give us more chances for the right bookwork atleast so we cant misclick the wrong bookwork check
