I can’t understand how this company gets good reviews given the poor manufacturing quality and slow service that we have experienced. More than once during the year it has taken Spacemaker to complete our work, we have requested to be put in contact with the Managing Director to escalate our concerns and have been refused each time.

We commissioned Spacemaker for “bespoke” fitted wardrobes and drawer units in April 2025. They indicated a 3 week turnaround and a single day for installation, but it took until May 2026 (over a year) for the work to be complete. On the first fitting visit in May 2025, many of the “made to measure” parts were either missing or the wrong size. Since then, we have scheduled another 10 visits for additional installation or remedial work, of which they have cancelled two at short notice. Even at the end, after the final visit, the installation was incomplete with parts posted to me to fit myself.

Besides missing or incorrectly sized parts, the quality issues we’ve encountered include:
- ‘Push to open’ drawer runners that either didn’t open, or didn’t close, or both
- Sliding doors that would not stay in position
- Replacement drawers that repeatedly detached from the runners
- A cupboard door that could not open fully due to a design oversight

The manufacturing quality was so problematic that the only way for them to address our issues was to completely replace all drawer units because the parts didn’t fit together properly. Although they now function, we still have multiple drawers that sound like a twanging spring every time they open and close.
The process has caused significant disruption, with multiple days staying in to wait for visits, cutting and drilling carried out in the bedroom (although they deny this), and having limited use of bedroom furniture for days, weeks, or in some cases months.

Communication has been poor throughout, with broken promises, updates requiring repeated chasing, and very little proactive follow-up from them. Despite raising a complaint about the time, disruption, and quality, no resolution or compensation has been offered.

The overall product and service did not match the timeframe quoted and does not reflect the high prices they charge or the marketing blurb on their website. I definitely would not recommend this company.

Staff very professional and respectful and a great asset to the company they did an amazing job and we are really pleased with the results. Would highly recommend Spacemaker.

From start to finish they were very helpful and professional, for a product that seemed expensive, WOW. My wardrobes are beautifully finished and well built. They made the whole process so easy from design tosurvey to removal and then fitting everyone has been very friendly and amazing.

I could never recommend them enoigh, just a brilliant local company that has completely changed how my rooms look and a perfect finishing touch to any room.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish by Spacemaker! I actually came across them by accident on the internet, and I’m so glad I did.

From the moment I first got in touch, they immediately put me at ease and made the whole process smooth and stress-free. The team - Joseph, Claire, and Lawrence to name a few, designed and installed a stunning, well-thought-out wardrobe that has completely transformed our space.

I recently had bedroom and media wall fitted and extremely pleased with the results. All staff I had contact were professional and helpful and I’d also like to thank Claire who dealt with all our queries quickly & efficiently. This is the third time I’ve used Spacemaker and highly recommend them.

We are absolutely thrilled with the bespoke entertainment unit Spacemaker created for our home. The entire process was a pleasure, delivered to an incredibly high standard, and offered great value for money. We had a look at several of the well known competitors, who were far more expensive, and we feel the quality of the furniture and service at Spacemaker is far superior and delivers better value.

Our designer, Aga, was key to the success of the project. She worked closely with us, ensuring the final design was exactly what we envisioned - beautiful, practical, and perfectly suited to our living room aesthetic.

The installation was carried out by Lawrence. He completed the job in one day, and the quality of the install was brilliant, with the finishing being particularly flawless. Lawrence was great offered some helpful advice on the tv placement and mount, making the installation day smooth and easy.

The service from Aga and the high-quality work from Lawrence have led us to recommend Spacemaker to several friends and colleagues who have seen the unit for themselves. It’s definitely the smart choice for exceptional bespoke furniture. Highly recommended.

Professional, hard working, polite and friendly. They completed the job on the day, respected our home, leaving the room clean and tidy.

From start to finish, with the initial design phase with Mark, to the installation completed on time with Lawrence and Ben, and Claire in customer service, Spacemaker continue to exceed expectations, and we look forward to our next project with them!

Although there was a hiccup in the design of the wardrobe, it was all dealt with smoothly & efficiently. The end result is amazing, just what I was looking for. Quality is great, Looks so elegant too. Fully recommend this company.

Excellent bespoke-fitted floor-to-ceiling solution (in a tall room) with internal lighting. Everyone was brilliant, from initial consultation on design, actual measurement survey, and finally the fitting by Gary and Rob. Found after shopping around for various alternatives. Highly recommend that Spacemaker are in your set of quotes if you are shopping around.

This was our second experience with Spacemaker for bedroom furniture and once again the service has been excellent from start to finish. The staff we have dealt with have been extremely knowledgeable, polite and helpful. Special thank yous to our designer Roger, surveyor Steve, and installers Ben and Lawrence. Ben was absolutely great...very professional and did a great job with a fully fitted wardrobe in my daughter's bedroom today. We had a few niggles with the order which I needs resolving with the office so dropped a star.

I was recommended to Spacemaker via my builders doing our house renovation who knew one on the designers . Having used Sharpes twice previously for wardrobes I was a little unsure... however it was a great decision to use Spacemaker! #

All the team were extreemly friendly, helpful with their advice & very professional. They were able to accomadate our short timescale and the instilation went without a hitch in 2 1/2 days for wardrobes in 3 bedrooms and a dressing room. Fitters were happy to make any changes onsite to amend & improve the design.
Especially impressed with the resessed lighting in the predrilled side groves with sensors when the doors open & close. Clean & tidy too!
A couple of minor snags were quickly remedied without any questions within days of asking &
Claire Scowen who managed all this for me was amazing.
The high quality of all the materials & the finishing touches were, I found, to be equal to, if not better than Sharpes. I particuarlly liked the fact that the wardrobes came with fitted backs as standard.

My only other comment it that I would prefer to have the option of a physical brochure, it is not always easy just scrolling back & forth on line. My lovely designer leant me his, so made it much easier for me. Cost vs ease for customer trying to choose!!

Excellent communication all round & I still have one more bedroom to do befoe Christmas so can't wanit for Spacemaker to come back to do this one too.
