Best price-performance ratio and friendly support.

Even though I had some initial difficulties, Sovol is overall a pretty good company.

I have been using the Sovol sv 07 since September 2024. Its printing speed is very impressive, and the results are always looking great. I had some initial issues and some problems over time, but I could get them all fixed thanks to the friendly, cooperative, competent, and fast-answering support team.

2 months ago, I bought a refurbished Sovol sv 01 Pro for just 80€, which is a really good price. I was pleasantly surprised to receive my package via DHL Express for free. I don’t think I’ve ever had such an experience before. The build plate was damaged, even though the page said: "it may have minor scratches but it is fully functional." But the scratches on the platform board made the printer not fully functional. I had to buy a new platform board for 9.67€, which I think is just about acceptable. I looked on the refurbished printers page a few days ago and saw that they now sell warranties or so.

I can only recommend Sovol for beginners, since the printers are easy to use, as well as for experts and experienced people, because they allow a lot of freedom. As already mentioned, I think Sovol 3d printers have one of the best price-performance ratios.

Love the SV06 so much bought another Sovol

I love all my. SV06 ACE and the SovolSV08 MAX.
They both are beginner friendly. Coming from a ender 3 the SV06 was my first, it was easy to use. My first print was a hueforge, came out so good looking . The SV8 is not only large build plate, make multiple part easy.. I run both the SV06 and the SV08 MAX 24/7. The only real issue I had was from my self... SV08 spares experiance

I have an SV08, that I got second hand, I have ordered parts from Sovol and they have turned up within a week of ordering.
I have also had to buy a replacment wiring loom as I damaged mine.
As this was not in the spares list I contacted customer service, expecting a wait.
I was surprised to have a reply within an hour, withe part number and instructions of how to purchase it.
It arrived about a week and a half later.
Top marks to there team who seem to know there stuff.
I have sice bought an enclosure and eddy kits for my printer, both turned up within a week.

I have seen positive progress

I purchased the original SV08 from this company. I had to wait for weeks with no communication. I was repeated told it would ship the next week. I FINALLY got the printer and set it up. I am no novice. I have other printers and have been printing for years. The printer requires constant tweaks. If you change filaments that require a different bed temperature you will DEFINITELY need to re-calibrate the z-height at the new temp. I had plenty of failed prints because the z-height wasn't consistent. Ran every test and calibration I could. I would get some good prints to then have 3 or 4 fail because the head was too close or not close enough to the table. Every time I order parts, it is crap shoot if you will get them in a timely manner. I needed to replace the whole head this time and ordered it and an upgrade kit on 11/30. I contacted them on 12/12 to find out where it is at as I have had no communication. This was on a Friday. They said it would ship on Monday for sure. I told them I have orders that needed to be filled and if it was shipping Monday I would just keep it with them. It is THURSDAY and I just got an e-mail saying it was shipping. When I checked the shipping it was only a pre-shipping label was created. I am done with this company. I will install the new head when it gets here and put it on E-bay for sale. I will just buy another BambuLabs H2S. They just WORK. I don't have to fiddle or tweak. Just flawless prints almost every time. And when they fail, it is usually my fault. Again. Don't waste your money. Buy a real printer from Bambu Labs.

I am updating the review I left back when. They finally made an upgrade for the SV08 that adds the Eddy probe to the SV08. It was involved to fix but doable. Instructions were fairly well written with enough pictures/videos to get it done without much issue. The documentation for using it/replacing the workflow was sparse. I found a youtuber (Gergo3D) with a full explanation on how to configure it and since then, my z-height issues are virtually gone. My issue with support still remains however. Case in point- it took 3 full months to get a response to this review. You have gotten better with parts delivery. The last 3 or 4 parts I have ordered arrived in a timely manner. So I will give credit where it is due.

I want to start by sincerely apologizing—not just for the shipping delays and inconsistent communication, but for the frustration, lost time, and broken trust that came with them. What you've described is not the experience any customer should have, and it's especially disappointing to hear from someone with your level of experience and patience.

We clearly failed you in multiple ways:

Shipping delays and poor communication – Waiting weeks with unclear updates is unacceptable, and the repeated “next week” promises with no follow‑through are not how we want to operate.

Z‑offset inconsistency – When a printer requires recalibration just for a filament change, it's a sign that the user experience hasn't been refined enough. You shouldn't have to fight the machine for basic reliability.

Parts fulfillment – Ordering a replacement head on 11/30 and not having it ship until weeks later, with no proactive updates, is not the level of support we expect to provide.

You're also absolutely right to compare this to your experience with Bambu. When a printer “just works,” it frees you up to focus on what matters—your projects, your customers, your creativity. That's exactly the standard we aspire to, and we missed it here.

On December 4th, 2025, I placed and paid for an order that included a filament dryer and filament. After payment, the order never became trackable, so a week later I contacted customer support to ask why my shipment could not be tracked and when it was expected to arrive.
Only then was I informed that the items were out of stock and would not be available for at least a month — something that was never mentioned at the time of purchase.
I asked for either a refund or immediate shipment of the products I originally ordered. Instead, the company sent me a different filament dryer, without stating its model and without my consent.
The issue with the filament remains unresolved: instead of processing a refund (especially after I clearly stated that I do not wish to continue dealing with such “service”), support keeps asking whether I want my money back.
Unfortunately, my experience with SOVOL3D shows a complete lack of transparency, responsibility, and customer care. I do not recommend this company and will not be dealing with them again.

Good printers, horrible customer service.

Unlike others, I'm relatively content with the printers themselves. They are "old school" 3d printers, and they assume a level of customer competence that people aren't expecting. But.... the customer service and lack of basic integrity (tell the truth and keep your promises) displayed by this company are a huge problem.

For example, recently I ordered a new toolhead for one of my printers. I could have ordered it from a US distributors, but the Sovol website was a couple of dollars cheaper and they CLAIMED on their website they would ship from the United States. It turns out that the website was a lie, and they had no intention of shipping from the United States. They shipped the part from China, and of course the shipping company (4px) lost it. This is all bad enough. It is a basic expectation that a vendor will tell the truth and keep their promises. But Sovol didn't do this.

Then, when I complained, Sovol made no sincere effort to address the issue. They completely refused to engage with the point that they had promised to ship from the United States, falsely claimed that I should receive my order within 7 business days, and when that didn't happen they continued to refuse to refund my money.

It finally took complaints to PayPal, public complaints on every relevant social media platform, and many emails to Sovol to get a refund.

This is unfortunate, because I really do like their products. But I'll pay more and just buy a Voron kit before I deal with them ever again.

Sovol Makes Great Open Source 3D Printers

Sovol is a smaller 3D printer manufacturer but they produce very good products that are customer oriented. I purchased the SV01, their first product, and it was a better version of the common bed slinger designs of the time. I purchased an SV08 and the Sovol Zero, and both are excellent 3D printers that provide great value to the customer. I love Sovol's focus on the customer and that includes publishing all of their designs as open source which makes it much easier for customers to modify and repair their printers. Sovol doesn't just talk about open source as a marketing ploy. They fully embrace open source. Sovol is a very customer focused manufacturer and they genuinely care about customer satisfaction.

Great printers if you know what you are doing

Not really one to write many reviews but when a company is actively doing their best to resolve a problem it needs to be acknowledged.

I ordered an SV07 printer as the online reviews rated it well especially for the price.

Now the printer itself is actually really good BUT only if you know how to set it up properly and understand slicer settings. Those who are after a print out of the box with no setup/settings will struggle with this.

On to the customer service, I haven't had a problem and contacted them many times. 1) Was due to delayed shipping of the second part of my order, 2) I had an issue with the printing plate but again replied to every email and have offered a solution I am happy with.

Can't really say much else, other than for the money I'm happy!

Don't do it.

Printers start out okay. They're cheap but you will get what you pay for. Terrible customer service (if any) and constant issues with the printer itself. Lazy company and employees. Just get something else.

Avoid this company

Avoid this company. Their printers are decent, but if you encounter any issues they will do everything they can to avoid you and ignore your messages until either the warranty expires or you give up.

Edit: The very fact that Sovol it took a *year* to respond to this review says everything.
