Leak in bathroo.
Karl was brilliant and found the source of the leak by working methodically to establish if it was the shower, was basin or toilet. He moved the toilet away from the wall when the die test did not work and found the the inlet valve to the cistern was leaking and dripping down onto the floor causing the water to spread under the vinyl flooring to the landing carpet and to the Utility room ceiling. He then sealed the soil pipe after isolating the water supply and left the bathroom as tidy as he could.
Karl was friendly and professional at all times and reassured us with all the questions we asked.
Well done SOS you provide a great service.

Can’t get a report!
The gentleman who came out to review the situation was very pleasant and gave us the understanding that the claim was valid. A report has been sent to the firm directed by the insurer. I am awaiting their response. I would have been grateful for a copy of the report but it seems that this is not down to the firm to supply which I do not understand why when it should be available for ourselves to see. Therefore I can’t be sure what has actually been reported compared to what the firm coming out to repair the property let me know that they will attend to. Such a pity.

Underground leak
I had an underground leak. Very well informed technician who on two separate visits identified potential asbestos issues in my floor substrate in separate rooms. Once the all clear was given, the technician pursued excavation in three rooms until the leak was detected. He was a Romanian man whose name I didn’t get but he deserves credit.

I can’t recommend Garry from SOS Leak Detection highly enough.
From the moment he arrived, he was incredibly thorough, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain everything he was doing in a way that was easy to understand, which really helped put my mind at ease during what has been quite a stressful situation.
Garry spent a considerable amount of time investigating the issue and was genuinely committed to getting to the bottom of it. His attention to detail was outstanding, and it was obvious he really cares about doing a proper job rather than rushing through.
He was also friendly, patient, and respectful of my home throughout the visit.

Poor Comunication
Comunication was of a poor standard. A leak reported on19 Febuary to insurer is only now 1 April being fixed by my own plumber . Topmarx arrived 24 February , said parque floor and aspestos. , Visit by SOS on 4 March took away sample . I was on holiday until 12 to 17 March , had to phone SOS to get result. Central heating boiler no longer works . No aspestos and agree leak detection 26 march . Leak found and exposed for repair .Unfortunatley waited from 9 am to 3 pm for staff who had both a puncture and an alternative visit . Leak exposed in half an hour. SOS do not fix leaks!!. On holiday again but have local plumber coming on 1 April. Will now have to talk to Topmax about floor repair, tiles jump up when a little wet .

Asbestos testing is a mandatory safety requirement, and unfortunately, this part of the process is outside of our direct control, including the turnaround time for results. This is why a return visit needed to be arranged following your holiday.
Regarding the delay on 26th March, unfortunately, our engineer experienced a flat tyre on the way to your property, which caused an unavoidable delay. We understand how inconvenient this was, especially as you were waiting from the morning, and we apologise sincerely for the impact this had on your day.
During the visit, our engineer successfully located and exposed the leak so that a repair could be carried out. As part of our service, we identify and expose leaks and repair where we can. On this occasion, we were unfortunately unable to make the repair for you. Which is why a follow on plumber was required. I appreciate that this added another step for you, particularly with your boiler not functioning.
Your comments about communication have been taken seriously. We are reviewing the case internally to ensure we improve clarity and updates for customers going forward.

My neighbour and I were both suffering with water damage in our houses and Garry, appointed by my neighbour’s insurers, arranged to inspect my property at the same time and quickly located and repaired the long running leak. Excellent service by both Garry and the admin staff.

The Great Leak Hunt
Chris Wright visited to establish where under my utility room concrete floor the central heating was leaking. This originally had been detected by Anglian Water's smart meter at the end of November. Before Chris arrived I had visits from various people who established the leak was in the house, in the central heating and in the utility room. Chris arrived on time was a very pleasant person to deal with and kept on going until he identified where it was. He said that judging by the rate the heating tank was filling he expected to find it in about 20 minutes, however nothing is straight forward in my house and it took about 3 hours. He never was anything else but calm and methodical and kept me informed all the way through. To check on one idea I actually call my builder to see what was done when the house was altered and extended (about 10 years before I bought it). He took samples of the floor tiles to be tested for asbestos. So I await the next visit and hopefully the leak being finally fixed. A very successful and pleasant visit.
