Well, this is a bummer. It seems that whenever you see MS software for a fair, reasonable price you need to be careful. Or prepare to get reamed out by MS with their gouge prices. I got Office 13 for 20% of the MS price and it worked for 2 years, but when I re-installed Windows I could not get a working key. I'm looking for another site with good prices.

My product key also blocked after less than 2 years of purchasing MS Office with Software Empire. Now their website doesn't exist, phone number doesnt work, email bounces back to me. Have we all been conned?

I wish I had seen these review before I bought Office 2016 via this company! Worked until today when MS said they had blocked the key as they couldn't ascertain whether it was genuine or NOT! However tried searching for Software Empire and the site no longer exists even via the link on this page! THIS IS A SCAM COMPANY - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!!!!!

like other reviews i purchased the licence key then all of a sudden it kept asking to the software key and now microsoft office no longer works.

I bought Windows with softwareempire.com. They gave me a license. key. It disappeared, but when the next time I restart the computer, windows will start asking for a license. again. I lost $ 49 and still do not have Windows. I tried to contact these guys for help, but they ignored me. They must be brought to justice, they are thieves!

Basically read the other reviews and avoid! Wasted 2 hrs of my day getting MS Office 2013 to work, much of it spent on the phone to MS support who confirmed the license I had been sent was an MSDN one (for developers) and they could not make it work. They said I had to go back to Software Empire for the right one. They also said they get a lot of calls about keys issued by this company which makes me wonder if they are an official partner firm as they claim.
To be fair to Software Empire, I got their chat support straight away and they sent a new code immediately and talked me through the install. They get you to use the telephone activation which strangely MS says is no longer supported for this product. I am wondering now if they have found a loophole that gets round the maximum installs that are allowed for a given key.
So it works, for now, but I had better things to do with my afternoon than sort this mess out, wiped out the small saving several times over.
Moral of the story is spend the few quid extra and buy direct off Microsoft!

omg software empire is the WORST, i purchased office 2016 which worked for a few days then was locked saying the code does not work in my region. anyway, please dont despair just because this rubbish company has had you, i called microsoft office support and did an online chat and the guy spent over half an hour sorting this out for me and now its done. please give microsoft a call or a message/instant chat and they will help you.

other than this, if you havent given this shoddy outfit your money then PLEASE go elsewhere, they are abysmal

Purchased Microsoft Office 2016 but didn't get the download link. Rang twice, didn't return calls, tried the email chat but was always offline. Awful company, don't waste your money, purchase elsewhere.

Tried to the validate the product key for MS Office 2016 and was unable to do so. We contacted Microsoft and was told it was an Academic version, OEM, and was not valid to be used in the UK!

The description of the product is a mis-representation of what was supplied. I only scored the company 1 star because zero stars was not possible

As other reviewers have stated the activation code supplied did not work. However, the telephone activation worked without a problem (other than being very tedious and giving two group F code blocks and no group B!).

Scam from what I can see. Reason? You purchase the software and enter the license key and told 'This key isn't valid in your country' now going to dispute with credit card company and raise a chargeback.

Similar to other reviews. Purchased Microsoft Office Professional but wasn't sent an activation key. Unable to speak to anyone. Inbox is not monitored.

My experience is identical to everyone else's on this page.
Bought the Office 2010, downloaded it and the key didn't work.
Can't get hold of them via any contact method.
TOTAL SCAM.

Very grateful that I made the purchase on my American Express card because they refunded me the money despite the fact that they are unlikely to recover it from Software Empire.
Huge credit to American Express for that.

This company is a cheat. I bought a Microsoft office product and they sent me the wrong product. No response on chat, email or phone despite several chasers. Finally raising a dispute with the credit card company to get a refund. This company is a farce. They cheat people; their advert should be removed from all search engines.
Avoid them like a plague!!

I bought Microsoft Office Professional 2010 from Software Empire for £38.49
The license Key will not activate. Says the product is not valid. Emailed, Telephoned and no reply received. Phone Microsoft support who advised me the license key is blocked. Reported the matter to Action Fraud.

As all below - Software keys sent promptly but when come to use to validate software they have already been used. Mail box not attended and calling and trying to use chat function = pointless.

I've bee duped. Paid 34 pound no activation code for office 365 . Email not monitored. Waited for over an hour for chat room response. He said a load of nonsense about key codes in back order! Seriously. Then I said cancel he said he had now received codes! Heavens sake. Advert says instant activation. He said terms say can take 3 days. He refusing to cancel. Then said he would . Refund email has the 34 refund crossed out and says nil. I have phoned bank to dispute payment
