Avoid at all costs - Nightmare experience with So-Eco
If could give this company zero stars, I would. So-Eco began work on my property on 10th April 2024, with a 10-day completion estimate, yet six months later, my project is still unfinished. This has been an absolute nightmare from start to (still not) finish.
Communication with So-Eco was appalling. Contractors showed up unannounced or didn’t come when scheduled, making planning impossible. My emails went largely unanswered, and I felt completely abandoned as a customer.
Their work left my property uninhabitable for 14 weeks. They ordered the wrong part for the heat source pump—twice—leaving me without hot water. Damage to my home and personal belongings was severe: soft furnishings ruined, my new shutters broken, clothing left uncovered and covered in dust, and sludgy radiator water was spilled across my furniture, floor, and even my bedside lamp. They even used my lasagne dish to catch radiator water! Rubbish, including old radiators, plasterboard, and other debris, was left strewn around my home and garden.
It was a heartbreaking experience. I’m grateful that Cornwall Council responded to my complaint by removing So-Eco from their preferred supplier list, but I hope others avoid the distress I endured. Be very careful and do thorough research when selecting a company for grant-funded installations. This was the worst customer experience of my life.
UPDATE - So-Eco are currently in a state of suspension by NAPIT. They have also been suspended by The Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
