Every month I have to ask where the box is, I would cancel but then you have to pay. I gave them my list of allergies, still sent stuff. Save your money.

I received a subscription to Snack Crate as a birthday gift and was surprised to get two identical boxes. I let the friend who gave me the subscription know what happened and he said that they had accidentally double-subscribed and double-charged him. Instead of acknowledging their error and just letting the first mistaken box go, they insisted that it be returned at no expense to them.
My friend felt really bad about this because he now had to let me know the whole background issue and it made the gift seem less nice because now I knew about a lot of negativity surrounding the experience and I had to return the box myself.
"Snack Crate's" entire response to their own error was petty and argumentative and it turned an otherwise thoughtful and kind gift into something which sparks unhappiness rather than joy. Neither my friend nor I will do business with them again due to their unprofessional response.
Update (10/1/25): Their appalling customer service carries on despite their claim that all is resolved. After forcing me to return a second box that they mistakenly sent and double-charged for, they refunded one subscription, but cancelled both (again, their mistake). After being badgered, they said the next box was on the way and the address was a complete mess. They had the wrong state and double-listed the street address. Since the first box had the correct address, it was clear that they were trying to reinstate the subscription they mistakenly canceled and messed up the address badly when trying to enter it back in. They are absolutely the worst and every time you try to get a problem fixed, they create new ones.

If I could give this company negative stars, I would. What an absolutely terrible company. They charged $60/ box for a bunch of melted chocolate and chips. It was supposed to be $30/ box, which would have still been overpriced. They do not even have a customer support number to contact, just an email where they regurgitate the same. Awful product, awful customer service. DO NOT BUY

I had bought the 6 month package when I was 15 (I'm 18 now) I had put it on pause and you CANNOT cancel with these people without having to pay $39, I tried to delete my account on the website, I had contacted them wanting to cancel it since I made the mistake of buying from them. I do not have the money to be throwing it away on these boxes every month that are not even worth their price.

I signed up for a six month subscription. I canceled it before month sixth. I just received Box No. 7. I just chatted with a representative and she told me that my cancellation did not go through fully. She also told me that this is box No. 6, even though it clearly shows that this is box No. 7 that’s been shipped to me on the website. She asked me to produce proof that I had canceled this subscription.
DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!! The only way that you could communicate with them is via chat or email. You cannot delete your Debit card off their site. This is terrible business practice!

They will NOT let you CANCEL a subscription, and they will NOT let you DELETE your CREDIT CARD info from their site. I signed up for a subscription for 11 months but it’s charged monthly, and I only paid and received one. They did not keep in mind the allergy restrictions they themselves asked me to specify, and I received several items I couldn’t eat. The snacks were definitely not worth the price. I emailed them asking to cancel my future boxes and that I refuse to be charged for the next 11 months. They sent back a sneaky worded email, but basically they were saying I’m still going to get charged every month whether I like it or not. Jokes on them though, I used a gift card and thankfully not my real card, so they can have fun charging the $1.00 left on my gift card if they want.

I got my first box, and it was just half a dozen stale, broken, tiny "snacks" in a very tiny box. I went to their website to cancel my subscription and get a refund but there was nowhere on their site for me to do that, not even on my "Account" page.
I emailed them and said I want to cancel but the email was returned, reason was "Mailbox is over quota!". I'll have to go to my bank, and if that doesn't do enough, my attorney.
This was such a disappointment.
Edit, since I can't reply directly to the response from Snack Crate:
I DID email you at the address you provided here, as stated in my original review. I ended up getting a reply from you offering to replace the snacks, but no mention at all of cancelling my subscription or refunding the balance on my account. Just an offer for replacement snacks...why would I want more of the same?
I'll be taking the next step if I don't hear back that my account is deleted and a refund on the way. I did reiterate in response to your email that I want to cancel my sub and have my balance refunded, not have the snacks replaced. Please conduct your business with integrity.

If you want an overpriced snack box that has you wait forever this is the subscription to get. I purchased my box April 8th and had to wait until may 27th to receive it. I contacted the company because it said I will be informed of shipment date but no email was sent other than subscription was purchased. I also thought I opted for a single box but it opted me into a subscription I was luckily able to cancel moderately easily. They did give a somewhat valid reason after I contacted it for when it will ship but I was frustrated I had to email in to verify. If you order from them you essentially don’t receive a box until the 2-3 week of the next month. It was frustrating and wish it could have been stated sooner or in FAQ’s. I stayed with it hoping it would arrive in time for my exchange student. We ordered the France box because you can pick which country you want. The whole reason I tried this company out. The horrible part is when it finally arrived later than what was hoped it was just a random snack box with not a single item pertaining to France nor a little sheet or pamphlet to give you info on anything. We ordered the largest box at 70$ for about 15-20$ worth of snacks because there was about 8 snacks in total. In short go with another snack crate because this will waste your time and money.

For the most part, snackcrate is awesome. My daughter and I enjoy our monthly snacks and learning new things about the origin countries snacks. This month though, my drink was not included. IDK if there was a shortage or what. I do know that I paid for the drink included. Still, I can't wait to try them.

BEWARE!!!!we were very excited to get our first box . We got the January box (in april)that was from the US. Nothing we can't go buy at the local store . 2 things were damaged and they offers a $6 credit . It is not even enough to add a add on to the next month .they also say I'm locked in to the 12 months and can only cancel if I pay them 24.99 . I didn't receive a free box I received a half of box that was 12.50 for the first month . Why am I being asked to pay full price . This is a big scam . MAKE SURE YOU READ THE FINE PRINT ! I NOW HAVE TO GO CANCEL MY CARD AND HOP THEY WON'T SHIP ANY MORE .Also all the questions you answer when signing up about preferences doesn't matter they send what ever they want

BUYER BEWARE Do NOT recommend
Do not recommend. Signed up for their 12 month subscription and was super excited. Our first box came from Thialand and it was absolutely awful! They also sent us a FREE box with our first month/new customer subscription. I tried canceling the subscription as we weren't happy with the snacks and we got met with resistance. They told me I was locked into the full 12 month subscription and the only way out was by paying $36.99 for the FREE box that we DID NOT ask for. After multiple tries to cancel and customer service sending me around to different reps. I called my bank and had them cancel my card all together. Buyer Beware!
Also they will flag your review when they don't like hearing the truth. Funny enough this is NOT the only place to write a review.
Let their excuses begin, 3-2-1.....

Signed up for a 6 month subscription, and I regret it. The boxes are late every month. January arrived in February, February arrived in March, March's box will probably arrive in April. I pay for March's box before I even received February's. Also, half of the snacks I don't enjoy. I think I will go back to Universal Yums, at least I had no issues there.

I signed up for a subscription and when my first box arrived it had damaged and missing items. I contacted customer support which can only be done by email only to be told they could give me a partial refund for the damaged items but unless I can provide an invoice, they couldn’t credit me for the missing items. They do not send itemized invoices so after several back and forth a with me correcting the misinformation they were sending me through screenshots from their own website, I decided to cancel. Then I was told there would be a $12.50 fee to cancel early. This is unacceptable! Poor packaging and high prices are bad enough but poor customer service makes it not worth it! I was excited to trial international flavors with my family. Now I’m just mad’

I ordered never got my package and emailed about not getting it was told they would email me back but didn't. I don't want this monthly or anything anymore because if they can't ensure their service then I'm cool. I asked for a refund and still no reply.

I've had Snackcrate subscription twice now. First time you could pause/cancel subscriptions, which I did pause because I spend my winters in Thailand. This new 12 month subscription doesn't let you do that anymore.
They had some port issues last year with the strike and hurricanes. Those are completely fine and understandable. This year while I was in Thailand I was expecting atleast 2 boxes when I returned but only received Decembers. It is now March 10th and I'm still waiting on January/February. This is supposed to be a monthly service. This will be my last subscription from them.
