From the very start, working with Smooth Red has been nothing but a wonderful experience planning our long-awaited 14-day Italy trip.
The process was so easy, and I feel like I did little to no work at all. Just told them where we wanted to go, places and things we wanted to do, and they basically did all the planning for us. This trip was based around a wine experience. We stayed at little boutique hotels which was way better than your chain hotels. We had our own private chauffers in each city, private tour guides, private wine tastings - they would make reservations for us at restaurants of our choice which they provided a list of places to eat with menu's to even look at beforehand. - the list goes on and on. We went to Vencie, took a train to Florence and Tuscany, then flew to Sicily and then back to Venice. Every day or so they would check in to see how our trip was going. The APP - well let me tell you. Everything for our entire trip was accessible on our phones, from tickets, hotels we were staying at, chauffer names and numbers, what we had planned for each day, it was amazing to have all that at or fingertips. Didn't' have to worry about old fashioned paper copies for everything.
The only complaint that we had was our cooking class in Sicily. Two of us don't eat seafood (I know), we specifically said that we wanted to learn how to make homemade pasta. While we loved our Italian Chef Antonio, he somehow didn't get the email that we didn't like seafood and guess what, that's what he had arranged for us to cook. We continued with the class and had a great time, however 2 of us didn't eat much. Thankfully they did serve us a pasta side plate. I contact Smooth Red when we got back home and they apologized more than once and couldn't believe that had happened as they said it numerous times NO SEAFOOD. They reached out to them to find out where the drop in communication was. They did reimburse us for our cooking class which I thought was awesome!
I can't say enough about everyone that I dealt with at Smooth Red - We are ready to plan our next trip and most definitely will be using Smooth Red again. All in All, we had the most fabulous trip to Italy! I would give them a 4.7 stars!

This is our 3rd trip with SmoothRed (planning a 4th!) and they've been nothing short of exceptional, bespoke and organized! Their communication throughout the process is top-notch, including while on the trip. The best part of SmoothRed is their vast knowledge of many European destinations, especially if you enjoy wine, food, private tastings, and historical tours. Their partners are all over-the-top and professional (this includes hotel partners!), which says a lot about SmoothRed's diligence and dedication to being the best. All 5 stars from us!

Wow, just wow! SmoothRed have excelled. Based upon our previous experience we had expected a great trip but in every aspect, our Wine Tasting Tour of Tuscany excelled! The SmoothRed Team understood our requirements, designed and executed our trip to perfection. Hotels, cookery classes, guides, drivers were all wonderful and the SmoothRed Team were always on hand to provide support and guidance if needed, and happily it was not. The App is a real winner and provides all of the information required. Well done guys 🙌

The accommodations were exactly as indicated by SmoothRed. They are excellent in matching hotels to our preferences. The local guides were knowledgeable
and delightful company. SmoothRed was available for any emergency which is inevitable in travels today.

SmoothRed (Jack and Marjorie) planned our trip to Bordeaux/Paris exactly as we requested and to our standards. We would not change a thing and will definitely use them again. All of the details were arranged and spelled out in the app. They even gave ideas of things to do when we had downtime. Hotels, restaurants, car transfers and guides were all exceptional (and on time). The wineries chosen were all unique, interesting and showcased the beauty of the Bordeaux wine regions.

We had a wonderful trip exploring Ribera and Rioja. Thanks to the SmoothRed team , our trip was very organized right from the beginning all the way to the end .

The tours and the wineries we visited over the week were exceptional , we wouldn't have been able to do this ourselves . We left with amazing memories and a great experience.

Brilliant trip to N. Rhone and Burgundy. The planning by Smooth Red (SR) was meticulous from the interests we had in wine to the booking of restaurants. The guides were just excellent and both had a deep knowledge of wine making and of the "terroir" in their regions. Every piece of the trip was flawless including the excellent hotels. SR also kept in touch during our trip to ensure everything was going well and I know they did the same with the guides. Would definitely recommend them and we will certainly be using them again

My trip to Burgundy and Champagne exceeded my expectations. I wanted to learn about the history and culture of these wine regions and my trip taught me so much. I know feel I understand these regions and why the wines are so special. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you to Jack and Marjorie for arranging everything and creating such a memorable trip. I will be returning to Smooth Red in future.

The whole experience with SmoothRed from start to finish was just excellent. We would highly recommended them and will be certainly using them again.
Everything was planned very well and went without a hitch from the airport transfers, to our hotel which was lovely, to our amazing driver Marco and all the arranged wine tastings and tours.

Transfers to the hotel were also excellent
Hotel was perfect and the staff very engaging.
We were picked up from our hotel at 9am on Wednesday and Thursday.
The coach driver Henri was the icing on the cake. Qualified sommelier with a fantastic knowledge of the wine industry. We had a question and answers every day.
The four days exceeded our expectations and the Vin Yards were fabulous. Booking in for Burgundy next year. Top quality company and very professional

SmoothRed helped my daughter and I plan a 70/40 birthday celebration in the UK. It was our first time using SmoothRed and we will definitely ask for their help with future trips. The guides/drivers were excellent - both knowledgeable and nice. Our hotel stays were fantastic and every meal was special. The SmoothRed app was so helpful - every detail for the trip was there. Also, SmoothRed kept in touch the entire week and checked in regularly.

Jack and Marjorie of SmoothRed organised a truly memorable trip to the Champagne region and Paris for my birthday. Having used them some years ago for a similar experience, we asked them to arrange for us to visit specific Champagne Houses and they created an amazing itinerary for us. We stayed in 3 hotels over 4 nights, Assiette Champenoise & The Royal Champagne Hotel & Spa in the Champagne region and Cheval Blanc in Paris where we had the most amazing meal in their 3*Michelin restaurant. SmoothRed’s attention to detail was superb, from transportation to visits and birthday surprises along the way! I had the best birthday ever! It goes without saying we would wholeheartedly recommend this company. Special thanks to Jack and Marjorie for all their help in making this trip so memorable!

I rate my experience, as planned by SmoothRed, in the Champagne Region of France as excellent. We spent two whole days with their guides, The information, attention, and pace was perfect. The guides were very open to our suggestions; however, all their suggestions dripped with meaningful history and importance. Even with inclement weather on both dates, the time spent was truely fantastic. Tom

Ryan and Carolina worked hard to ensure that our trip to Reims was exactly what we wanted. From finding a hotel in the perfect location, to arranging champagne tours and tastings and recommending restaurants. Carolina dealt with all requests for amendments in a positive way and I never felt that I was being a nuisance. Our guide for the tour of three champagne houses was exceptional. We all felt is was a wonderful experience and allowed us to create more amazing memories. Would I use SmoothRed again - absolutely.

Marjorie and Chris were amazing to work with. Our traveling from city to city went extremely smoothly and we had all the documents and tickets we needed in the app! We had a credit at a hotel to utilize during our stay, when we left the hotel accidentally charged us. I told Marjorie about it, and that same day, the hotel fixed the balance on my account! Our tour guides were amazing and super knowledgeable! Amazing trip!

2nd time using SmoothRed - Excellent

We've used SmoothRed for a trip last year to Burgundy and the Loire valley and used it again a couple weeks ago for a trip to the Douro and Porto. In both cases they were well organised and enjoyable tours with some very personalised experiences.

On our recent visit to Portugal we were able to have some excellent personal tours of smaller wineries with some excellent wine and some great hospitality.

The team at SmoothRed did a great job in particular as we had a last minute change as one of our party could not join us and modifications needed to be made last minute. Everything went off without a hitch.

I would definitely recommend them and use them again.

Como Le Montrachet, newly refurbished, excellent suite, special restaurant with a very extensive wine list including Romani Contee La Tâche.
Alexander, our guide was brilliant, entertaining with a very extensive knowledge of the complete process of growing through to bottling and a good knowledge of vintages and tastes.
The best wine we sampled was:
Chateau Trapet Grand Cru Chambertin 2008 - bought 3 bottles, now safely stored in our cellar along with several cases of assorted Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

We had a fabulous trip to the Rioja region of Spain thanks to the superb itinerary developed by the Smooth Red team. Beautiful hotels, a very knowledgeable and entertaining guide, fabulous Bodegas selected for wine tasting and a wonderful lunch in a Michelin starred restaurant. The communication throughout the whole booking process was excellent and the app is a great resource. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Sincere thanks to everyone at SmoothRed for a wonderful trip! We truly enjoyed all the activities and hotels in London, Cambridge, and Bath. All of the tour guides were exceptional, and we loved the accommodations. There were so many memorable parts of our trip, including the freedom to explore; the suggested activities; the scheduled events, including private, expertly led tours; the professional and safe car rides; outstanding accommodations; and reservations at restaurants we wanted to dine at. The SmoothRed team quickly remedied any unexpected hiccups, such as alternate transport after our train unexpectedly stopped. The SmoothRed app was great and easy to use. We look forward to working with SmoothRed again for future trips!
