I had an extremely disappointing experience with Smart House Solar.
They failed to respect the terms of our contract, with delays stretching to over 10 months without any meaningful progress. Throughout this entire period, we were given repeated assurances and ongoing promises that were never fulfilled. Unfortunately, much of the communication turned out to be misleading, if not outright untrue.
After finally deciding to cancel the order due to the excessive delays, the situation only worsened. It then took more than two additional months just to receive a refund of our deposit—completely unacceptable.

To make matters worse, when we attempted to visit their office listed on Eagle Street as per their website, we were informed that the business was not even located there. This raised serious concerns about their transparency and credibility.
Overall, this has been a frustrating and time-wasting experience. I would strongly caution others before engaging with this company.

The after sales support from smart house solar has been excellent. They have gone out of their way to ensure customer satisfaction.

Initial enquiry was very easy to understand and they suggested a great package for me according to my needs. (Also best price)
Had some delays in regard to installation date and scheduling which resulted in my install delayed by 2 months (partly due to christmas shutdown) When I finally had the Install done, the team was top-notch, very efficient and did a perfect job. Also explained how to use everything afterwards. Could not have been better!

Overall, im happy with the result and especially dealing with Frank who went out of his way to make sure i was happy. Also glad i went with a bigger system.. Although the outlay cost was higher, Im now producing 90kwh on a good day with 13.2kw panels / 10kw inverter / 42Kwh battery and projected payback on the outlay is approx 2.5 years. (a smaller system would have actually taken longer to pay for itself) 😀

They took my money in August 2025, failed to install repeatedly, I had to eventually pay another company to install, and in spite of many promises, Smart House Solar has not refunded my money. The latest promise was to have my money refunded by Jan 9th but again it didn't happen

I have had a horrible experience and strongly recommend avoiding this company at any cost. They took a 50% deposit, then were unable to complete any part of the installation. After asking for a refund on the 14th of November, I have been lied to again and again as they make excuse after excuse as to why they are unable to make any refund. Over 6 weeks later and I am yet to receive any refund and am forced to find legal paths to recover my money. There are many other reviewers with similar stories, I wish I had read them first. Don't make my mistake!

Definitely do not use this company for Solar panels. The worst experience of my life in dealing with a service provider.

We had solar installed in December but the company didn’t do a ERW. So now we’re nearly 5 months later and still no ERW sent to Energex or my electricity company even after talking with them multiple times and they kept promising they’d do it. Don’t use this company!

I recently had a solar system installed by Smart House Solar, and I couldn't be happier. There prices were the best in the market for top quality products they supplied. The installation went smoothly with a team of very skilled people that new their job. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking to install a solar system. Thank you all at Smart House solar for all your help in getting my solar system completed. And a special thanks to Frank Williams for all the work he did from start to finish of the project.

Very courteous and professional staff made the whole process from planning to installation seamless.
The system was installed by a local electrical firm with a very high Google rating.
I am an electrical engineer myself and I can honestly say the standard of installation was beyond my expectations.
Whilst on the roof one of the installers even inspected the whole of the roof for any broken or cracked tiles " since he was up there anyway".
He then changed any that were damaged although they didn't cause any damage themselves.
I would suggest that anyone getting any work done on a tiled roof gets hold of some extra tiles , just in case !!
All in all a very pleasant experience,which has saved us thousands as we now charge our Electric vehicle for next to nothing 👍👍

Wonderful experience!!!! Frank is amazing So much knowledge and flexibility. After care fantastic!!! I did allot of homework and was worried but they took all that away so happy!!! Seamless!!!

Could not organise coitus in a bordello with a fist full of $50 notes. I have paid a deposit for a system totalling over $22,000 for this install. This would have been the forth solar system I have organised for one of my properties and have NEVER dealt with such an incompetent orgisnation such as smart house solar. I received a quote from smart house solar and paid a deposit and here we are over three months later and I am still yet to get a installation date-- They flat out LIED gave me one but that was clearly never intended for them to meet as one day before the supposed installation day they were STILL trying to organise an installer.
This companies whole this is to LIE and tell you one more day and never call or actually deliver hoping you leave it -- I am not convinced they are not even a scam origination.
Another week on and still no installation date or follow up from these clowns. There has been no follow up or feedback from the sales / installation team I have to constantly call them and they always promise one more day and they will call back but never do - I would avoid this company and look else where and this is before they have my money - cant imagine how bad it would be if you needed after sales service with them

I was considering renewing my 20+ year old solar system this year, so I tried several quotes and finally chose Smart House Solar for their competitive price and superb customer reputation and customer support. The whole quoting and installation process was super smooth and I couldn't be happier now with the new 10.5kw solar system. Highly recommended.

ZEROOOOO stars if I could. This company is dishonest and downright ridiculous. DO not use this company for your solar panels.
After paying IN FULL IN CASH for our panels over 4 months ago, they have repeatedly cancelled every single appointment with a different excuse and reason everytime. They are obviously incompetent at managing their workforce and supply of panels. But happy to hold onto your money. In asking for a refund - they said... "we'll see what we can do". Seriously. NO.

We've lost so much money not making the best of our panels for months and /or at least having thousands of dollars accrue interest. Then seeing Smart House Solar advertise deals for better panels / deals than what we've paid for on your website... is just disappointing. So you're using the panel money we've paid for to give other customers better panels instead of installing ours?

With no promise of installation or a future date of completion, please process a full refund of our amount paid asap. THIS WEEK. This is a total of NOT 2 months like your other users on Google reviews. I will be taking Smart House Solar to the Commerce Commision this week, If we don't get a prompt refund.

Also, please confirm that your company will NOT be keeping the rebate that you've collected for this installation - I will be going with another company and do not want to be disadvantaged because of Smart Solar's inability to complete the work.

They won't install my system they keep giving me dates and cancelling 3 cancelations so far. Then installer called asking for payment before installation.i refused. I used smart house solar twice before with great service and product. This time as per above has been frustrating. However they have improved communication and did install my system. The installers were Great. I am now happy with the system and they have genuinely improved. I would now use them again.

100% would NOT recommend this company to anyone! Promised the install 1 week ago. Before they would even order our solar system, they required FULL payment upfront. The Contractors never showed up. When they had been over 4 hours late, they finally called me back and said their car had broken down and they would be unable to come and they would get back to me next week with a rescheduled install date. I had not heard anything by the next Tuesday so I emailed and had a response within 5 minutes. They informed me that the install would be at least another 3 weeks. I felt uneasy and called them to ask for a refund as I had lost faith that they could actually provide the products we had paid for. After 14 emails and 2 phone calls, they offered us $300 refund in “compensation”. I FINALLY got them to agree to refund our money so we could have a system installed. Please do your research and STAY AWAY from this “company”
