Love everything about this service
Love the service, the marketing, and the product. Even if it sucks when I get a coffee I don’t enjoy, that is the risk of this kind of service. Experiencing new flavors and roasters and supporting Finnish owned businesses is most important. Dealing with everything in English let’s me enjoy everything more as I don’t need to do the cumbersome process of translating. This has become something to share with my husband as well. We are very happy.

You think that getting curated coffee…
You think that getting curated coffee delivered on a regular basis is handy, and it sort of is, but Slurp has still the same problem that it had years ago when I last had a subscription. You never know when exactly you're going to get your coffee. It might be a half a week later than you thought, so probably have to buy coffee elsewhere as a reserve, and you risk either having coffee accumulate, or have it run out before you get the next shipment.

You are indeed correct, we cannot unfortunately guarantee an exact delivery day, as the coffees are delivered by Posti Mail delivery in Finland and DHL Globalmail internationally. Thus, we have to rely on the estimates our logistics partners give us, and unfortunately delays are not avoidable in all cases. We are more than happy to help out with any issues, though!
I'd like to point out, that the vast majority of shipments arrive within the estimated shipping time, according to the data received from our partners.😊

Easy way to try different coffees and roasteries
A simple way to get some variation to you usual coffee choices. And I love how coffee just appears in your mailbox every now and then.
Coffees could be a bit fresher when they arrive but thus far none have been too old. And sometimes the price is a bit steep, like the recent gesha that was double the price compared to buying directly from the roastery.
Edit 2022-06-27: actually the coffee freshness is not an issue since a few weeks of rest only seem to improve cup quality anyway. But the coffee delivery time varies greatly and it would be great to get better estimates on when to expect the delivery to be able to better plan other coffee purchases.
Also it would be nice if the system did not bug me about coffees I've already reviewed but would remind me about ones I haven't.
I'd give 4.5 stars if it would be possible.

The price of coffee, on average, tends to even out in the long run, as our pricing is fixed and some coffees are in reality more valuable than others.

Easy, timely and enjoyable
With the monthly subscription model of coffee delivered home and e-invoicing, getting to try out the variety of Finnish roasteries couldn't be easier. Deliveries are timely, with beforehand information on the upcoming batch. I went for the beans and darker roast profiles, but there's other choices as well.

Thank you for the review and feedback. We're really sorry to hear about issues with our deliveries, and more specifically, delivery times. As we ship orders across the globe while trying to maintain an approachable price point, most orders are shipped to outside of EU by DHL Globalmail, which does mean that the final delivery leg will be conducted by the local postal service. Currently there are issues with many logistical companies, mostly due to Covid-19-related issues and increased demand for e-commerce and logistical services related to this, and we're really sorry that some of our shipments have been affected by these.
We do kindly ask for customers to contact us with any issues with deliveries at info@slurp.coffee, and we'll try to resolve the situation to the best of our ability.

I got this for christmas present

Some of the things that might be a little improvement could be some kind of explanation, tasting notes or quick summary on the characteristics of the coffee and tracking info for the shipment.
The package is basic, does it job, could be a little nicer / colourful.

In our subscription coffees, information about the upcoming coffee is usually sent per email as the coffee is sent from the roastery, and our single coffee selection does also include some information about the coffee on the product page on our website. This is not included in the shipment, though, and we're looking into the opportunity to include this here as well!
Tracking information for international shipments is also something we'd love to include, and this will hopefully be possible soon.🙂
We've recently also renewed our packaging, which does now include fun, small coffee-related figures, and we hope you like it!
