Great range of mattress for everyone

Needed a new mattress and had purchased from the Sleeping giant before, went back an got an upgrade that
worked for my pregnant fiancée so she was comfortable.

Would recommend checking the sleeping giant out they have a great range of mattress.

Dishonest

At first, the mattress is amazing. In less than 18 months it has deteriorated so much, you sink right into the springs and sleep has been horrible. Aches and pains all night. Warranty process tells me this is completely normal and meant to happen for maximum comfort. A stick laid across a mattress with no one in it does not show the issue. Warranty personnel refusing to pass me on to management or respond to emails. This is the second mattress from here that has done this, however, in 2019 they replaced that one-which is the only reason we bought here again

Disgusting service. I wish I'd seen these reviews before…

I wish I'd seen these reviews before making a purchase, if I could do zero stars I would. I have bought the whole Mandalay suite, so not cheap and the bed was delivered with the top of the bed head crushed in - probably from the way the driver was 'rolling' it into my house... They acknowledged it, said they had made notes and it would be fixed. I then started the process of claims and have been dealing with the most rude 'Ursula' who ignores everything I say, and just keeps telling me she can't process my claim without photos (I've sent them numerous times) and the 'batch number on the packaging' which I don't have because they built the bed and removed the packaging... now she's quoting me their laws that without this, they can't process the claim! Disgusting service and I will be seeking legal on this one... Do not purchase from them!!

Beware sleeping giant false warranty

On viewing several feedback sites i see some sights with high positive scores but several with much higher negative . I know why . My recent shopping experience has forced me to give a 1. Calypso MK11 bedframe instore showed solid wood without joins on bedhead. What we received was a not solid as front and back areas vary. Bedhead beams on bedhead joined with crooked different colour unmatched grained wood. If solid the rear of same areas should be same. NO ridiculously rear was unjoined… Manager on our return to shop to check the display bed saw photos of our newly received bed and stated that she thought was faulty BUT all claims must go through Warranty department. We did as requested. Photos etc etc etc. Slept on floor as didn’t put it together awaiting outcome. A week later. Warranty department state not a fault . Read online fine print….. Which after finally found said wood may vary to online … Although the online example that we had not accessed as we bought instore did show a join .. When buying bed the salesperson did not state about the chance bed would vary from what was displayed…… NOT happy with outcome….

Worst customer experience

Worst customer experience, if you change your mind and want to cancel the order before delivery, they charge 40% cancellation fee and this is not a custom made order , this is for one of their in stock mattress.

I have requested to change the order more than 48 hours before the delivery date and they refused as the order is printed .

They do not even have customer support chat, or phone .

not recommended anyone to buy from sleeping giant.

Unlawful practices and unfair trading

I've sent a copy of the Complaint presented to NSW Fair Trading - Reference Number 11438385.

I will add as a copy the small business Commissioner due to the fact that this purcase was made with a business card as per your policy in-store to not accept cash.

As I mentioned this morning:

1) The fact that you stated when purchasing the mattress that is required to make a return to PURCHASE A MATTRESS PROTECTOR is MISSLEADING.
2) On the other hand, as the person that handed over the "contract pages" to me just did that AFTER I paid and signed the receipt, this CONTRACT IS NULLED as is not legally binding and made under unfair terms.
You can go through your camera records to check that.
3) There is no STATEMENT on these papers added saying "NO REFUND POLICY" OR SIMILAR.
4) This kind of conduct in business is completely inappropiate and unlawful, the fact that the person on the Store say WE DON'T ACCEPT RETURNS BECAUSE THE HEAD OFFICE DOESN'T ALLOW US is completely out of place for a business trading under the NSW Laws.

I will make sure that this type of misleading conduct doesn't end up affecting other customers with the appropiate review.

Waiting impatient for a full refund on the same payment method as used to purchase.

If i could do zero stars i would. Worst customer service, so unhelpful and rude. The delivery drivers for this company and james lane who falls under thr same umbrella are unprofessional and don't do their job but still expect to get paid for it. Don't waste your money or time with the horrible business.

Take your money when they have no stock

Does not deserve 1 star even! I have a disability which results in chronic pain and purchased a particular plush mattress from Sleeping Giant. I was told in the Tuggerah store by the sales assistant to “choose the Ultra Lux Extra Comfort as other less expensive mattress models would not be ready until March. Being that I cannot bear to sleep in pain that long I chose the recommended mattress and paid extra for it. My order was supposed to be delivered on 30/1/25, they did deliver a mattress and when they left I discovered it wasn’t the mattress I paid for. I contacted them immediately to tell them they delivered the wrong mattress and just got fobbed off all day until I finally got hold of one of the customer service agents at their St Marys factory; she assured me that my correct mattress would be delivered this Thursday 6/2/25. Today I received emails from another staff telling me my mattress won’t be available until the end of March with no given date for delivery. They expect me to sleep in pain until then as they’ve taken my old mattress away and left me with the wrong harder mattress. If I had known all of this prior to purchase I would have gone elsewhere or chosen a different mattress. I feel they have taken my money for something they cannot provide. I was finally given a date of 5th of March, now they say April…no confirmed date. Their website reviews show recent 5 stars on delivery so obviously that’s fake as they keep telling me they have no stock. I have lodged a complaint with Fair Trading.

Horrible Experience – Avoid Sleeping Giant at All Costs

My experience with Sleeping Giant has been absolutely terrible, and I would strongly advise anyone to avoid shopping with them.

I paid in full for my products in-store and received a receipt confirming my payment. Despite this, after some of my items were delivered, I was aggressively contacted by the store, claiming that "some" of the funds did not go through and demanding additional payment. This claim is completely false, as my receipt clearly shows the payment was made in full.

While I began investigating this matter—because I refuse to pay twice—I was harassed repeatedly via phone and email. Then, within 24 hours, I received a threatening email from a debt recovery agency acting on behalf of Sleeping Giant! This is utterly unacceptable behavior.

This ordeal has already cost me time and money, including having to take time off work to address the issue. I will be seeking compensation for this inconvenience, as well as for the harassment I’ve received. Additionally, I will be lodging a formal complaint with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) regarding their unfair and unethical practices.

Sleeping Giant's unprofessionalism and bullying tactics demonstrate a blatant disregard for consumer rights and basic customer service. If you value your time, money, and peace of mind, do yourself a favor and shop elsewhere. This company does not deserve your business.
