Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Considering 130 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers reported significant dissatisfaction with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to engage with, often leading to unresolved issues and misinformation. Reviewers frequently encountered problems with product quality, including mattresses sagging, deforming, or having broken components, and some even received used items or products that did not match expectations. These issues, combined with high prices and unhonored warranties, left many feeling that the company did not stand behind its offerings. However, some customers also noted positive experiences with specific staff members, who were described as patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely interested in assisting them with their purchases.

Warranties are not honored

We have bought all our mattresses at Sleep Country for years because we trusted the name. Our last purchase resulted in manufacturing defect - coils warped that poked at our child. The mattress was barely 3 years old. We used a mattress protector from day one and removed it for washing. Naturally, there was some wear on the mattress surface. They claim to provide 10 yr warranty on their mattresses - Sleep Country VOIDED the warranty despite construction defect citing yellowing. Customer Service said that even if a mattress protector is used from day one, body sweat can transfer unto the mattress thru wear on the protector. This yellowing voids your warranty. Didn’t address the fact that the mattress is deformed and useless. Lost a customer for sure. Buyer beware!

Zero stars if it was an option. Worst customer service ever. Sleep Country double-charged my credit card for over $7k. When my cc was frozen & I was charged $29 over-limit fee, SC in Milton & Mississauga did nothing to help until 14 days later when they issued a credit. 2 weeks with no cc. I was refused the store managers' names & method of contact. I'm still out $29. I dread having a warranty issue. Sleep Country's customer service should be renamed 'Empty Promises'. I will never buy anything from them again.

Rated 1 because there is nothing lower

Rated 1 because there is nothing lower. The mattress is fine but the delivery was absolutely brutal. They couldn’t get it up the stairs. I did with my son and it took us about two minutes. They broke the lamp scone on the stairs and didn’t care at all. I now have to repair it because they will do nothing. Don’t buy from them if you care about the delivery or customer service.

I purchased a mattress from sleep…

I purchased a mattress from sleep country seven years ago. It has a 10 year warranty. Back in March 2024 I submitted an online warranty claim. Multiple pictures were taken in three or four different areas of the mattress that showed sagging of at least one and a half inches, including the collapse of one of the corners where we place our head. That claim was denied stating that we indentation was not deep enough. Forward to July 2025. The mattresses next level uncomfortable. I paid the $50 to have somebody come in and submit another warranty claim. The gentleman said that it definitely would in his opinion qualify brand new mattresses. He did say it is sleep country though so good luck. Well, my claim was again denied. Apparently they phoned me on August 3 never left a message so I’m following up on August 12 and find out that the claim has been denied. This company aftermarket service is the poorest I’ve ever experienced in my life and will never use this company again. Their commercial sounds like they will provide us with awesome pre-and aftermarket service but they do NOT. Many of the reviews that I’ve looked at, have the same issue. I hope this helps some people not to use sleep country. They are a horrible.

Worst Customer Service ever!

Worst Customer Service ever!
I ordered a mattress last week, paid for it was told it would be delivered today(Monday). I have company coming and that is what the mattress was for. I go to check tracking and it is saying it won't be delivered until Wednesday. I call to find out why, they tell me its a Canpar issue. Call Canpar with tracking number and it hasn't even been picked up on the Sleep Country end. They tell me the earliest it will be delivered is Thursday. My company is coming tomorrow(Tuesday). So I go back to Sleep Country to tell them that this leaves me in a tough spot because I have a bed set up with no mattress and company coming tomorrow. Their solution was to go to a physical Sleep Country store buy a new mattress and then when the one I ordered online arrives return it and they will give me a refund, you know because money isn't an issue for people. When I asked him if they as a customer would do that he said well you know you can just put it on your credit card. They want me to spend another $500 for something I already paid for but didn't receive. Yes that really makes me want to drop another $500 on a company that really shows they don't give a sh**t about their customers. That is the absolute only solution that they had for me???

Sleep Country Canada Review

Sleep Country Canada Review

I have purchased two mattresses consecutively from Sleep Country Canada. The first mattress was perfect and lasted me 10 years without any issues, which made me confident in their products.

When I went to buy the second mattress, I requested the same features and firmness as my original one. I was assured that the new mattress was the same model, just updated to reflect improvements over the years.

I purchased the new mattress in 2021, but didn’t install it until 2025. Upon installation, the mattress was firm and met my expectations initially. However, within just two weeks, it became noticeably soft and no longer provided the support I hoped for.

When I reached out to Sleep Country about this issue, they asked me to take a photo of the mattress. The mattress looked normal upon inspection, but it’s not until you lie on it that you notice how soft it has become. The customer representative was very unhelpful throughout the process.

I had always recommended Sleep Country to others, but after this experience, I will never purchase from them again. Overall, I feel that my $1300 was wasted, and I’m very disappointed.

Delivery and no set up

My daughter bought a mattress, bed frame, pillows and bedding from sleep Country. She paid $60 to have her old mattress and box spring taken away and her new bed set up. They wouldn’t take her mattress and box spring as it was worn and dirty. They left and didn’t set up her new bed. She had to have 1-800 junk take away the old mattress and bed frame. She then had to call Task Rabbit to set up her new bed. Kudos to 1-800 junk and Task Rabbit who were very prompt. Would I buy anything from Sleep Country,NEVER. The delivery peopke had my daughter very upset and they just laughed. Stay clear of Sleep Country. There are other company’s who sell beds etc

Ripped off from Flexiti.

We bought a bed from Sleep Country and used the credit company they recommended. My husband sent the full price of the bill in February. In order to do so, he had to phone Flexiti to get the account number. He was given the wrong number so the payment was rejected by Flexitibut we were not notified. In May, we received a notice to pay the entire amount plus over $3,000 in penalties and interest. Emails and phone calls did nothing to resolve the situation and it was not until late June that the correct number was given to us. We promptly paid the original sum. Numerous further communications failed to achieve any recognition by Flexiti that they had any fault here. We believe that the extremely unhelpful attitude was a deliberate ploy to run the interest up.
The local Area Manager, Curtis Gilbertson, contacted Flexiti on our behalf and received no useful information.
This is the worst credit card company we have ever dealt with. Even worse than Telus.

Offered a $100 gift card that never materialized

We purchased a queen sized wooden platform bed. Once assembled, there was a 4-5" gap at the end of the bed. We measured everything and both our mattress (Endy) and the frame are Queen sized and match the dimensions on the website. Our previous frame was from IKEA and both the original IKEA mattress and the new Endy mattress fit it perfectly. My colleague bought the same bed frame but an upholstered version (also no headboard) and her queen mattress fits perfectly. On that basis, we looked at the specifications again and see that the wood queen frame is actually larger than the upholstered queen frame (maybe they make one size to accommodate upholstery). We obviously didn't think to compare the two especially as the photos on the website shows a snugly fitted mattress on the wood frame. I complained and received what I thought was great support -- at first. Ultimately, the staff member offered me a $100 gift card. When the card didn't come, I queried it. She said she contacted the issuing department and to give it 24-48 hours. That time frame came and went with no card. I contacted her again and didn't get a reply -- I guess she ghosted me???. So not only am I disappointed with the frame itself, but I am appalled by the practice of a company to promise something and not fulfill that promise. What's $100 to a big company like SC and why offer something you have no intention of providing. I will never buy anything from Sleep Country (or its affiliates) again.

Dual mattress and box spring defective out of the box.

We ordered a dual mattress and box spring in June and delivered in July. It is the power type where you can adjust and raise the head or foot with individual remotes, one for my side of the bed, another for my wife's side. Cost almost $9000. During installation, the Sleep Country installers broke the bolt for one of the supporting legs inside the frame. They took several pictures and mentioned a new frame would be sent within 1-2 weeks. Several calls to their customer support have yielded NOTHING. It has been over a month. Original pictures taken by the installers are nowhere to be found. They never reported the break they caused. Our original complaint appears to have been "lost" or not recorded. We have been told our issue has been escalated, yet no one has attempted to call us back. For now, our frame sits on boxes so we can at least use it. I do NOT recommend buying anything from Sleep Country. Their customer service is a joke as it is non-existent.

The Warranty is basically fraud

The Warranty is basically fraud. The mattress I bought had a 10 year warranty. 5 years in it developed a deep indentation I suspect a broken spring. They denied the warranty claim because of some very minor discoloration of the mattress. What that has to do with a broken spring, I do not Know.

Warranty claim is impossible

Don't ever believe Sleep Country will honour a warranty! They come up with every excuse in the book to avoid your warranty claim. Even had a technician come out, who indicated there was failure occurring in our 7 year old Kingsdown mattress. Absolute garbage! Probably best to buy a mattress from Costco where you know Customer Service is significantly better!

Underhanded corporate tactics

Have you actually fully thought this through. Because the way I see it, your underhanded tactics to make your customers jump through hoops, phone this number, do this, do that, to try and retrieve their refund could have negative consequences in the future. You see by stealing people's money the way you do, you will inadvertently get them to share their horrible experience with all their friends and family. And in reality, you have my credit card information, you have my name and address, and you have my email address. Three simple ways to refund your valuable customers their hard-earned money back where it belongs. For shame Sleep Country, for shame.

They don't deliver what they promise

I recently bought a mattress and base from the Oakville, ON store. Claire, the salesperson was so helpful! And, I was thrilled that she found a mattress for my 91 year old mother that just had her hip replaced the day before, and, that it would be delivered on the Thursday. Also her bed (the hospital bed) and futon/mattress would be picked up and taken away, and you even said the hospital bed would be donated.

I was under incredible stress, and this was going to be so easy.

I have to tell you the deliver/pick up ... "the Green Glove service" was a nightmare. They delivered the mattress package as requested, but refused to take the hospital bed and futon/mattress. They left the bed in the building hallway outside her apartment (fire hazard, so it had to be moved right away) and the futon/mattress inside her apartment wedged between her mobility scooter and the wall. I immediately called the store and spoke to the staff member and the manager. I am 3 hours away and she lives by herself. He was trying to make excuses, asking what colour the mattress bag was, saying the bed had some rust so it couldn't go in the truck etc etc. My Mother was upset because she didn't want to get in trouble from the Superintendent for leaving the bed in the hallway, but there was nothing she could do...she had surgery just 4 days before. Eventually, several hours later the bed was picked up by a "Got Junk" company, but they refused to pick up the futon/mattress. My brother arrived and had to drag it outside, I'm not sure what happened to it, but it was never picked up.

As you can imagine it has been very stressful dealing with my Mother's health. I chose you because you offered an easy, stress free, one stop shopping/removal. That certainly is not what I got.

I contacted Claire, because I felt at the least, I should have the Green Glove service reimbursed, she spoke to her manager and he refused stating he had to pay to have the items removed (how is that my problem?). You certainly didn't deliver what you promise. It was a very stressful experience at a very tough time for us.

NO SLEEP COUNTRY

After our very expensive and adjustable beds arrived from Sleep Country on Monday July 21, 2025 within an hour a leg fell off. Looked like the threads have been sheared off. The delivery men were rushed and we're not very helpful when showing us the mechanisms.

All day Monday, after numerous calls to Customer Service, being placed on hold, hung up on and given the run around, we were told emails had been sent. No one could speak to anyone, no one I could speak to other than a multiple number of customer service reps. A different representative every time!
Finally service men came today Wednesday July 23, without any tools or new leg as requested
They had to borrow our hammer. Told it was unrepairable and I WOULD HAVE TO CALL STORE & CUSTOMER SERVICE AGAIN! When I called store n CS was told yet another email was sent. No report from service guys until TONIGHT. I am now waiting for yet another CS to call. Also told they do not refund. We're stuck again with another sleepless night!!

I have had the worst experience

I have had the worst experience. Within weeks, the mattress had a huge body contour where I slept. Sleep country was not helpful. I have done all the photo taking. I even had one of their representatives to my house. Do NOT do this if you are alone. Have someone with you! I put a board under the mattress as suggested. the handles to turn the mattress have ripped off. I slide out of the bed. I had surgery and had to put pillow either side of me to prevent me rolling out.I spent a lot of money on the mattress. At my age, I thought it would be my last one.

I have been trying for months to get…

I have been trying for months to get someone from Sleep Country to assess my mattress, which has clearly sunk in the middle. After taking multiple photos, going back and forth with customer service, and finally having someone look at it in person, I was told it could not be replaced under warranty. The reason given was a small stain on the top corner of the mattress.

This has nothing to do with the actual issue, which is the sagging. It feels like they are using a technicality to avoid honoring their warranty. I am extremely disappointed with the lack of accountability and support. I trusted this company for quality and service and they have completely let me down.
